I added AO to all of the current skins that were lacking in previous releases but I didn't fix any steering wheel badge problems or anything like that. If @UolterUait is up for some internal improvements and you fancy fixing up some of the skins then maybe a 1.3 could be around the corner? Maybe add a couple more skins ;)

I think this was done in a time before I knew what i was doing properly, and also the files were a bit of a mess so I just winged it.
@UolterUait is working on the interior and it looks a million times better from what I've seen, he'll shout you when he's ready though. Probably tomorrow.

Probably best if @UolterUait collaborates with @Beezer215 or @MisterWaffles on this as it's their baby really, just don't forget the new LODs and damage.ini

I shouldn't even worry about this, but the creator of Mosport on Racedepartment striked me as a real jerk.
Just read his opinions about the people that ranked his work (which is great, no doubt about it) 4 stars...

If someone give him one star, will he shoot the ranker?

I'm almost tempted in giving a 3 star rank to see what happens... :dopey:

Thank you.

Since my school days, I assimilated when to put an 'a' or an 'an' before a word.
If I remember correctly, it is not a vowel or consonant thing. I mean, it has to do with a sound and not a letter.

Two mistakes I usually see many times (and with English natives too), are the wrong use of 'you're' and 'you are'.
And the wrong use of 'then' and 'than'.
About these two, I am sure I'm using them correctly aswell.

Nevertheless, unfortunately my english is not good as I wish.

Cheers
It's "a hell", not "an hell", though..

BMW M3 GTR Street version by Patrick M edited by assettoland and reworked by Dragster666 and Beezer215

Rework Changelog:
-Power fixed its now actually at 345 bhp its 346 in game i know!
-RPMS are now at 8000 unlike originally 9000 which would be unrealistic.
-Fixed F6 cameras
-New driver position along with new animations.
-Fixed fuel gauge now it works
-Turn signals reverse lights....
-Rain ready with wiper animations.
-Ambient Occlusion everywhere!
-Half A..., lod optimization the car will still be probably heavy. Need help on this.
-Data packed into data.acd the car should now be stable in MP.
Did not touch the physics because i have no clue how the car feels like nor is there a onboard video of the street car.
Enjoy! Next up gonna rework the 996 GT2 from scratch.
As always Patrick M if this rework hurts your mod or you please PM so i can remove it.

For the 961 LM some problems with the wiper again ...

I'll redo totally. Have you done other changing? Can I work on latest?

Guys, i'd love to help because i know how much time and caution and meticulous effort it takes to prepare working wipers from the scratch. And it shouldn't be necessary to redo that at all when it's once done working with at least both csp1.65 & 1.67 (they have differently programmed "rain on windscreen" shaders [yup, shaders are programs :)] ).
If it looks like your software or just workflow is not compatible with each other, maybe I can try, or just make an add-on "patch" for your wipers, which you will add in extension folder and it's loaded on top of original kn5. (see my post regarding wipers addon for ferrari california mod)
It's not that i dont believe in you, also you don't have to credit me anywhere (nor i want that - my user name here was just for making fun of some GTP welcoming rituals lol :d), whats more funny i'm not even particularly interested in that car (not my taste) but if it's only a single wiper(?) why the hell to rework it over and over again?). If the issue is really only in the wipers i think we can solve it fast. Heads up!
Cheers!

So an hell, an house, an horse..? :D that's news to me, I always thought it had something to do with silent ''h''
No. "an" precedes only "silent" "h" like in "an hour" etc. But you don't have to believe me, because i'm not native English speaker :D Cheers!

EDIT:
Don't know how it happened but I saw only half of your post, sorry . LOL :D

thanks! the problem was the "tick", but why no overwrite the original?

But why do overwrite the original?

Needlessly, lots of track mods that could be just skins are released in full, lots of car physics updates are released as full mods, sometimes overwriting the originals.

Give it some thinking, if updates by anyone other than the mod creator would be released as add-ons, whenever possible, including only the changed bits instead of the whole original (and whithout overwriting anything if not intended and required), maybe the idea or requirement for encryption would have never arised, saving us from the contemptuous discussion of this subject.

The credits for the original creator would be preserved, the credits for the update would be there, the download sizes could be way lower. Also, name clashes would be avoided.

Hence, it baffles me when someone gets criticized by releasing a mod done with the better approach (except for the naming convention, in this case).

Deleted.

Off topic and an endless discussion insight.
Don't want a hell here.

EDIT: You are right Kimi, in this case we spell the 'h'. My bad. Sorry.

BMW M3 GTR Street
Original author unknown edited by me.
  • Added AO to body & rims
  • v10 tyres
  • shader tweaks
  • brighter speedo
  • stuff
Still not the best mod but @dragster666 is releasing a quality one soon I think so it's not worth the time. Consider this an ok spot filler until his release.

I'm sorry Kimi, but you are wrong. It is 'an hell', because as I said before, it is a sound matter and not a letter.
You spell 'hell' without the 'h' letter, therefore, the correct way is 'an'.

Sorry.
Haha well I am sorry but the right form is "a hell", of course the "h" is pronounced and heard, so the right article is "a", simple as that. Just google it for confirmation if you don't believe it lol xD

It seems the encryption debate has gone to hell. :sly:

I was running Rollover's Acura ARX-05 and the brake squeal is exceptionally loud. How would a non-modder attempt to correct this? Thank you!

Hey I'm still playing GTR2 when I want big, stable grids (and that sweet, sweet FIA GT 97-11 mod). Or Race07 for the WTCC cars / BTCC mod. Or rFactor for the 80s F1s. Graphics don't really matter as long as the racing is fun. I'll get crucified but I don't race much with AC (too tim consuming to find which tracks handles 'big' grids, which one has good AI...), I mainly hotlap and chill (is that even a thing ? Now it is).

If you still booted up F1 Challenge '99-'02 these days I would seriously be impressed

Opperslang did fixes for the original car i reworked the car mine isn't a update to his my rework is also an update to the original car but fixed a bit more stuff.
Hi @dragster666 , Im testing both, I like some things here, somethings there, your version has more extras, I aprecciate it, visually, well, your version is steps ahead, but had some bug with the AO of the rims, this issue I saw it in some other cars, the AO has a "shadow" fixed in the geometry of the rim, and when it rotates, the shadow too...is there some way to fix it? thanx for this update to the car!!

i liked terra's version very much.. so i don't know if a new rip has to be here
Its a completely different road mesh, significantly different to drive on, the Terra version is very smooth/bland. Has anyone got a workaround to unpack the encrypted tracks, understand it scrambles the textures but in this case I think remapping from textures in the ams1 version will be 90% of the battle and its simple enough to slap in a satellite terrain texture like the rf2/ams2 version. Its worth doing right its an incredible track in the newer versions.

@TheRealCeeBee send me the Ibarra, let me see if I can get those mesh/textures.
(if its rf2 DLC, it will be encrypted with new key, I dont have AMS2, but if AMS it might be more possible... send all versions)

in your IM. It is also entriely possibel that it is the same meshes, it just feels that much better in both AMS2 and RF2, but, suspect it will not be the same meshes, I spot diffrerence in the tree textures, layouts, density, ground textures and a few more things. The track feeling that much better in the opther two games might jsut be better game engine thing, but happy to be proven wrong.

Grabbed a still from the triples of both AMS2 and rf2 version for comparison. the tree to grass colour matching is not jarring, the far textures are good etc.

the AC version (on top), it looks like it may actually be the same texture as the RF2 one but all contrast for the sand has been washed out etc. tree models definately different although placing is similar(rf2, second image)

AMS2 is a lot "drier", not as green. I prefer the colour toning af the AMS2 variant and you will note that while AMS2 has dynamic grass, its quite sparsely used.
