There are so many different bastardisations of ACU's Instanbul track it's hard to know if there's a 'best' one or not. People released whole new versions when the only changes were new billboards. It's got far too complicated.
In an attempt to improve/consolidate/simplify things, this one has a new grass texture skin and generic billboard option, plus the recent GrassFX/RainFX/lights config (RainFX could use more detail like rain dropping off bridges/gantries and grandstands etc), plus @CrisT86 's addition above, plus helis/balloons/blimp/airliners. Give it a go. Delete/alter anything you aren't happy about and add any other skins you prefer.
Any mapping issues with the billboards are carried over from the original ACU track.
Backup your original if you have this one already in among the dozens of Instanbul iterations out there.
(edit: LSM's AI update isn't included, sorry - missed that amongst all the fog and noise that regularly seems to descend on this thread)

Edit: Ok, it´s mainly aniversary day of release of the track, so put this code into existing leipzig_porsche.ini to get the grass you seen in above screenshot :) :

Here comes a little blast from the past.

I found a little problem with this config, there was some occluding materials missing and because of that on some layouts there was a strip of grass spawned on the pitlane. I think I fixed it, here's the new updated config.

I'm making a skin for Nardo, as you can see below:

However, I can't enable grass fx. If I add this simple line in the config:

GRASS_MESHES = 1GRASS_001

It causes that mesh to dissapear.
Any suggestion?


Also, I may need a tip on pasting images to the forum. Whatever method I use (drag image, copy paste, imgur & similars), the forum downgrades them to year 2000 quality.

but the CSP with the rain available only if patreon by Ilja Jusupov aka x4fab ...

the rain is only for the graphics or does it change the physics of the car driving ??
 
i'd like to test RMI's imola but it says that the "car's sound might be broken" (Williams FW19 by VRC), what do?

if you have the rain version AND the CM version from the patreon then it adds a radio dial to enable advanced physics for cars in the rain.
he does warn that this does alter the cars data files so may make car ineligible to race online.

I done a bit of testing with the extended physics and it's really quite good. I think it is work in progress though.

Did you tried to use a already done one and update with the texture names? It should be easy to understand how it works ;)

I have been teasing you all week with pictures. I don't like a tease, so felt compelled to share at least one that is done. Two more are being beta tested by two members here.

I hope I am not frowned on for posting this. I do not believe I am doing anyone harm by doing so. The original credits for the mods are detailed in the UI.ini. I am not taking credit for the models and have spent my own personal time working to deliver these with love. I hope the community enjoy. I will gauge the response before I post any others in the future. With all the great work and sharing taking place here, it is nice to give back something you might enjoy.

As for the mod. I have only driven it in VR (a total blast). I have only setup the driver camera. No wiper or other outside animation work as I don't know how to scale ksanim files. Please provide feedback as you feel free. I won't take it personally and will try to improve upon it. To fill out the grid, please get the Koro-Cue cars from Legion who inspired me to do these. They are super fun.

Looks cute, I love the full size Zakspeed Capri (IRL) and this one works well as a Koro-cue car. Good job on doing something fun with these mods.

No idea if this track is any good as I've never driven it but might be good for a giggle at least

Thank you and appreciate the feedback and the track recommendation. FileMissing will put a series on his servers as we move forward. This track sounds like a good fit.

If you all have great versions of cars that you feel will work, I would rather convert those than what I believe might be good ones. It takes about a day for a car, so if I can do it once and do it right, that will be great.

Haven't driven it in anger yet so can't comment on driving feedback but just for pure cuteness it gets my vote :D
 
Hi guys!

I just got ACFL STCAR2000 and I have this problem. I can't see any cars (just shadows) through the Corolla's windshield. Any idea about how I can fix this? :confused:

I've had this problem with some cars. Just recently with Opel Ascona C GT 2.0. It's related to the car's windshield. Not much of a solution, but I solved it by totally deleting the internal glass. No windshield in the cabin view now, no raindrops, but I can at least see the cars now, not just their shadows.

Someone might have a more subtle fix for this? :odd:
