I'm confused. People here moan about encryption and locking mods behind paywalls or donations (crash and trawa got a rough deal over this and they only had donation links on their otherwise free high quality mods) so why should your mod be treated any different?

You can spend us a beer and grab the Audi or you don't. I don't see the problem.
It's only 3€ and you can unsubscribe until you have done the donation.

Ah but you see, that's still selling another company's intellectual property for a profit. Either release the Audi for free or don't release it at all.

In case you didn't notice, a certain "company" by the name of Sim Dream Development just got destroyed because of it. You have be really stupid if you think you can get away with the same thing immediately after that massive fiasco.

I mean, heck, even VRC are changing the names of their cars and putting fictional branding all over them, and they don’t even charge for their mods.

Yeah I'll pass...

That's why they work with the subscription i suppose. I follow them on this one... Really hate when names and liveries are fictional!
Even though you can find some on RD.

I saw many nice-looking formula hybrid liveries on RD (like a Earth Dreams remaster of some sort) but they are all for later iterations of the car.

how can i convert them to fit the formula hybrid 2018?

It's fine, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere thank you :D

I do also question the strange ethic of slamming some users for advertising payware, I recall daan offering to charge some users advertising rates unless they pull their posts, but, other users its OK..,but, mostly I know a new paymod is available because links to it are all over the PM's, not seen this one yet but Im sure it will show up soon, ;)

So, all is said. No one cares:lol:
Evidently people do. I've been trying to wrap my head around this since yesterday - I'll try to explain.

First of all I have followed your work for a while, driven almost everything and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Audi - as far as I can - tell represents a new level of quality so congrats. I think to some degree I am just a bit cranky because I would have to register to yet another site (not a patreon member) but that is not all that important. And I agree with you guys giving your supporters a bit extra and given the quality is there, I have no problem paying for mods (I own almost everything from RSS, VRC and URD for instance).

What kinda annoys me is that "buy us a beer" talk, sorry, but if I payed to get the mod, I'd buy a mod, not a beer - and to be honest, we don't buy people beers to get a car, we do it so they would drink that beer with us - not that I think you wouldn't do that, don't get me wrong. I have decided that I don't want to support this at the moment, because I don't know what I get yet - everything I drove from Guerilla was fun, well done in a lot of ways but lacked the polished feel I get from RSS for instance - I will reconsider once I have seen a review from someone I know and once I can get a whole GT2 field - but I would prefer if you guys gave your patreon supporters the well earned reward now without advertising everywhere or just sell it to us in an honest way like others do. By the way, that SimDream comparison you really do not deserve - as far as I can tell all your work has always been original (brand license is a nother matter I don't really care about, let Audi decide) Just my opinion, you do as you please, but maybe this will help make sense of why some people are a bit concerned about this.

By the way, I am relatively new here, decided to finally take part in discussions, cheers, everyone!

Should be the suspensions.ini file in the data folder (or within the data.acd). I believe this was down to the wheelbase length and the positioning of said wheelbase. I believe it's somewhere in the first few lines. Other's might be able to come through with more info though, but that's what I know!

After digging a bit I can definitely say CSP 1.72 and higher are rather... Dodgy ? I mean :

CSP 1.73 / 72 - large swaths of darkness across many tracks (Kunos and mods alike) :

Now same track, place, weather on CSP 1.70 :

Anyone having this issue too ? It's rather bizarre.

I'm noticing this very dark cloud shadows, specially when running on the Nardo Ring (which lets me "tour" beneath much of the clouds over the track. If anyone knows of a SOL adjustment to manage the clouds shadow intensity, that would solve it I guess.

You missed the part that it was made from scratch. They did all 3D modelling by themselves.

The car is out there with a real manufacturer and all, you're right. But the effort for this goes to them (Guerilla Mods Team) for they make this from none to all.

The part you mentioned is about the people use other mods and change little stuff and selling them again and the people basically steals other modders work without asking any permission.

It's not like re-uploading some youtuber's video on a different account and get profit. It's kinda like creating your own content ground up about same topic.

They sort of Racing Point'd the Audi. Looked it up, got their references and modelled from their own information.

I'm more concerned about the copyright. As far as I know Guerilla Mods isn't partnered officially with Audi on anything, so they don't have the right really to be selling this R8.

Now if they called it the "Auriel 8 LM GR2" or something and removed the branding I'd be quite alright with it, but they've chosen to sell another company's property as their own which is not OK.

Then there's the fact that I'm pretty sure this GT2 Audi uses some components from the Kunos GT3 car like all of Guerilla Mods' other projects do, so they'd technically be reselling Kunos property as well which is also not OK.

But then you should say that thing to the Rocket Bunny and all widebody makers too...

3 out of 5... it's a known rule for design. You can inspire from sth. else but not copying it all.... their information only covers for outer visual. Not mechanical stuff. You can't manufacture sth. from that 3D model in particular.

The SDD thing is using your mod exactly and selling it. You're not get paid, the manufacturer doesn't get paid. But they got paid. That is an infringement. And after that, they copyright claimed to all the people that talking about that. And that's act of offence.
