First of all, I’m glad we can speak. It was impossible to contact you through Patreon – there is no facility to do so unless one pays you. This is a significant barrier for anyone who needs to contact you to clear anything up, so fix this.

If you are serious about maintaining a good reputation may I suggest that a little bit more work goes into:

- Making yourself openly accessible / contactable

- Checking and attributing sources

- Clarifying your workflow

With that in mind, let me point out a few things that are difficult to reconcile between what you wrote here (Eg:“At no point did I say the model was mine, or even offer it to anyone.”), and on the Patreon page from my point of view:

The blurb on Patreon states (in part) - “I make top quality race cars for Assetto Corsa.[...] You can also request custom skins, interiors and even Cars!”

These are the terms they are signing up to:

Tier 1 “Crew members will receive early access to cars as well as general support for any mods.”

Tier 2 “[..]Digital downloads, Early access[..]”

My model was on a Patreon page where the description under the render states:

“Some initial work has began as I really want to bring this car fully into the game at some point. It as many errors and issue at present including no uvmaps but the model itself is of good quality. A definite future release.”

The reason people pay you is to get access to the cars being advertised on the Patreon page – there is no reason to show people cars on a page asking for money, unless they are there to be sold access to. If you are not aware of it, you are actually entering a legally binding contract with people. I suggest you read up about it, I know Patreon take this seriously.

These descriptions are ambiguous at best, and actually read like you are creating the cars.

My model was ripped – it was NOT downloadable or freely available. Whether you, or a contact of yours did this is not really the issue, you bear responsibility for it by advertising it on your Patreon. I hope this is clear, and that we can all take the opportunity to do better from this.

I know now from my side that it is reckless to consider it safe to have any kind of 3D up online, even if it is ring-fenced.

I’m glad that you seem to be genuinely contributing to the community. We all have a shared passion – from that perspective, we definitely have common ground and I applaud any work that is a positive benefit to us all. I want to thank anyone who has been helpful in trying to get this issue resolved. I appreciate the help - more community spirit means more for us all to enjoy!

If anyone wants to know a bit about the car:

I have been very fortunate to get the assistance of a vehicle dynamicist based in Italy. He is able to cover the physics in a way that I would never be able to. He is also making a visit to the Alfa museum where the car is on display and attempting to establish contact with some of the original engineers to see if they would be willing to provide information.

We’re looking at the Group C regs and period class information to help with the development of the model.

It’s a learning curve for us, but an enjoyable one. The prospect of this beauty with the Ferrari Tipo V12 screaming down the Mulsanne is mouth watering and very motivational.

Hopefully we can give it a life that it never had…

If anyone has any information on anything related to the car or skills that they can contribute, please do get in touch.

I'm easily approachable on here, no one needs to pay me to talk to me.....I'm not sure what Patreon is set to but usually people can message on posts I've made public however you made no attempt to try to message me before going on a little reddit rant.

Any issues I have always publicly addressed.

I do not need you to explain to me my patreon and obligations to those whom sponsor me. They do not pay me money for mods, they pay to support my works in which I release exclusive mods to them. There's a huge difference there. In fact the vast majority began sponsoring when I did not have any pateon exclusive mods even up.

Kindly keep your suggestions. It's clear from the response on here, a forum known to savage people, that I'm a reasonable person. I was presented your model and asked to get it in game and tidy it up. I was not aware of where it came from or any further details, other than it had poor dimensions, no interior and no uvmapping. I made the post to let said party know I had done a little bit of work on it. After being made aware of the circumstances I promptly removed it. I can do no more.

Who was the contact that gave you the model?

How is a person looking to contact you on Patreon supposed to know who you are on GTP?

Your reddit post could of been one asking for a way to contact me rather than trash me and my mods without any due diligence.

Regardless I'm not addressing this further, please redirect your energy to finishing the model, the more cars the merrier and all etc.

With no contact name given, I will assume that it was indeed you who ripped the model from sketchfab.

As far as due diligence is concerned, I have provided a very clear breakdown of why it (still) looks like you are taking other people's work and passing it off as your own.

Instead of shirking responsibility, you could actually step up and make some changes to demonstrate that you are indeed concerned with being an upstanding member of the community, instead of just proclaiming on here, under a different name, that you are.

The opportunity has been missed sadly.

Did you do this?

These liveries are compatible with the above mod (folders), with the exception of the Mini Rover - you'll need to rename file 'skin_template.dds' to 'skin_00.dds'.

Question. Where could we browse all the cars that you and your team have brought into the game for the community, please?

Gotta say that update really helped. Making faster lap times now. Just waiting for OG skins to come out.

Here's something I found amusing but forgot to post, a few weeks back I decided to go through all the AC Patreon accounts and see how much it would cost to get all the content on offer. In the end I gave up calculating at about 40 Patreon accounts (out of well over a hundred!!!) and it would cost approximately 1,160 USD to subscribe at the top level of those accounts.

Over a thousand dollars a month and that's less than half the total Patreon accounts for AC. Of those selected there's fewer than 10 people actually using the service legitimately as it's intended, i.e. to produce scratch made content off their own back. I don't really have a point here, people will waste their money as they wish, I just thought it was interesting how quickly this trend has wormed its way into the community.

For the record, I didn't include what I would call 'support only' Patreon accounts in the above, i.e. accounts that don't offer exclusive content, just a way to support a favourite modder as these are (as they should be) 100% optional.

I left the top 2 there for perspective. But i can see why it gets costly quick.

Beautiful car and livery 😍

What is the DIY looking air intake poking out of the driver window on the reference image? Did they run that a lot?

Love it!!! Thxs

Hope that u can remake your 1998 Ferrari 333 SP skinpack (https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/1998-ferrari-333-sp-le-mans-skinpack.44385/) so that is compatible with the new model that Legion released few weeks ago for the Ferrari.

Yeah, it all a bit puzzling the way some people throw their money around, like there's not a cost of living crisis getting worse by the day.
The weirdest of all is sim racing YouTube 'talent' who have thousands of dollars worth of donations appearing during their streams as if they're crapping money straight out of their own asses.
Pass me that laxative, stat!

A request for someone to have a look at making a more accurate collider for the V8 Mini. Such a fun racer, I'm sure it would be most appreciated...
Only a little detail; in the link provided, the logos of the rear part of the skins are still reversed (the solution is posted a few messages back), but thanks for the collider!

EDIT: Sorry, I understood that you had made a new collider, because someone had asked you to do it... This is what happens with us, the ones that don't master the language of Shakespeare... 😅

Thanks! That diy intake was due the hot temperature that day in Suzuka. It was 23th august and apparently the team recorded 60ºC (140ºF) inside the Marcos LM600's cockpit, so it looks like the drivers tried to fight the heat as best they could

Didn't know about this new release, so I think I can update them yeah, thanks!

I made this clip showing not only the Legion links for the car and Reboot Team for the track, but also yours for the skins.
It is true that from an engineering point of view the car is something surreal, but it is also true that it is magnificently insane!

SPOILER: with twelve liters of fuel I only covered two laps and 800 meters (to be generous)

My Point of view, from the other side of this, as somebody that actually runs an AC Patreon account.

Having my Patreon grow so quickly, has definitely allowed me to produce a lot more tracks than I would have been making if it didn't exist.

The income from Patreon, has meant I can cut back on my actual main job a fair amount, and use the time to make tracks.
Really, the support has been a bit overwhelming. I've said it before, and i'll say it again here. Originally I started it to cover my Google Drive subscription of like £8 a month or whatever it costs. Also as a place that wasn't Race Department, where I could post work in progress stuff without getting review bombed by people who don't understand what a work in progress project actually is.

I don't think I've ever deleted a post from it, so it's quite cool (imo) to go back and see v1 of a track, compared to the finished project. At this point its basically turned into a museum of everything I've made over the past couple of years.

And at the end of it, when i'm happy with a project and can satisfyingly call it finished - it's still free for everyone on RD or whatever Russian website nicks it, and re-hosts it.

Since people were talking about Patreon, I do get annoyed that a subscription is required on some accounts to even look at the mods. I prefer to actually get a preview of the mod such as pictures, maybe a video of the car in action, and more than a vague description of the cars before considering a subscription.

Not all of them are like that of course, I have to give some paid modders credit for actually showing a video of their work first on Youtube or something.

---
Now this next part isn't about paid mods of course, but rather mods in general. People that post on Youtube a mod, but don't describe how to get it or if it's private. You could say that if they didn't mention how to get the mod in the first place, then it should be assumed private. But there are people posting mods that are public without posting the source.

But you're also amongst the handful that's actually producing legitimate scratch made content. It's actually your stuff and if that's what works for you and you can get some decent cash from it then that seems more than fair to me.
