Hi guys, since a few days I get this CM error message each time I export a png to the car skin folder.

everything works fine, but it really gets on my nerves to close the window every time. Maybe you have had a similar issue and could point me to a good solution for it.

Thanx
Daniel

Littlebird update.
v1.80 (Jan 2023)
Translucent 'Littlebird' windscreen banner added to all cars; customised MoTeC dash display added; 7-Up, Apple, Bubbly, Co-Op, Cube, Stihl, Dunkin' Donuts, Elf, NGK, Michelin, Namco, Link, BP, Neo Synthetics, Mont Blanc, Kwik-Fit, Oakley, Fujifilm, OMP, GReddy, TAG Heuer, Oreo, OXO, Rowes, Tabasco, TDK, Tide, Frank's, N64, Playstation, Xbox, Total, Santa Cruz, & Ken Block skins added; Some tweaks to previous skins; various minor fixes.

Sorry for the delay. Christmas came at the wrong time.
It's a '77 car so.. there are 77 skins. Should be enough for good variety with large grids.

Thanks to @norms and @petercrill for help with the banner and MoTeC.
It's a Sharemods link for permanence and because Mediafire wasn't working, and to stop complaints about the WeTransfer link expiring after a week ;)

Remember: this car is fictional, so don't go getting any knickers twisted over perceived inaccuracies. :)
Thanks Masscot for providing a new update to that little gem. If you want to try something out, just put the sound from Peter Crill´s Lotus 2-Eleven NA via CM on that Golf, its just an awesome natural aspirated sound and fits perfectly (also on the Kunos M3 E30).

I'll check tonight also if I get the chance, at Barcelona at least as I don't have LuccaRing.

My testing was only at Nordschliefe and Bathurst.
Just made some laps at Bathurst (Reboot Team version) right now to test, and same result, game crashes in solo modes and ok in race or trackday... that in the end is the important thing. Thanks for help me with your tests, but don't worry; it must be some problem in my files, since it doesn't seem to happen to anyone else.

By the way, it's been a while since I've driven on Bathurst and I have remembered again how much fun it is (and more with a car like Littlebird); I ended up sweating after ten laps elbowing against fourteen other birdies. Aussie pilots must be a bit nuts to race in real life on such a track, so scary with those walls so close... 🤣

On that basis though Forza Horizon is the best sim out there, which is demonstrably untrue.
Proper sims, like the ones F1 teams use, look pretty bare bones.
Having said that I like all the nice looking candy. But it was never 'better graphics' = sim. Not all that long ago it was the reverse in fact.
I've never heard anyone before say that part of what makes something a racing sim is the trees or grass texture.
But maybe that has indeed changed with the whole shift in the way sim racing has gone.
People more than ever, me included, like the nice graphics.

Ok sure, making it look more like you are there isn't immetsive, and we may as well have stuck with spectrum zx81 graphics.
Don't know about you, but I use objects and parts of scenery as indicators for braking points and reference, the same as I do in the real world when on track. The better the graphics, the more ommersive, end of story.
Sure F1 sims are bare bones, so the computing power can run their fanct simulations better, but they'll still be graphically as close to accurate for objects etc.
Forza? Never played it or seen it in action, so I'll skip that part of your narrative.
I'd love to know who said better graphics=better sim though. better graphics, better sound, better physics, whatever is available to improve the info to the senses makes for a better sim..

I can unpack data.acd, but if pack, the car does not work. So, if the data.acd is encrypted, there are no options to solve the problem?
If you unpack the data.acd, delete the data.acd file (so you only have the 'data' folder) and don't repack does the car still work? If so, then you can edit the physics.

If not (i.e., The game crashes when you try to drive the car or the car is made of a bunch of blue triangles) then no, you can't edit it

...and that makes x24 liveries in total... It's been a blast!

Thank you very much for all the great skins you've made for this car racealot. I'd also like to award you the Inaugural '2023 Best File Naming Practices' Award. 👏 Excellent!

I get so frustrated when downloading mod files just called 'content', or something equally uninformative - which then end up in my downloads folder amongst many others, with no clues whatsoever what mod they apply to. Your naming makes it simple and clear.

Hello.

Is it possible to turn this car into a (Fictional) DTM version of the Mitsubishi Colt HK51?
1673313365426.jpeg

for making it a DTM, it needs:

-single seater left hand drive (don't care if right hand drive since it's fictious and DTM cars don't exist in right hand)
-rim change to retro BBS DTM mesh
-roll cages
-DTM style front bumper and wing with license plate removal (because DTM don't have license plates)
-change stock interior to DTM racing modified (Steering wheel change (stock to DTM fitting steering wheel like momo), stock tachometer change to racing, single racing seat like sparco or recaro and add gauges on dashboard)
-fictional mitsubishi DTM liveries

Thanks.

Hi All,

I realised that Kunos BMW M4's android has gone blank. I checked car instruments over csp and other kunos cars all fine. I assume it's gone after latest csp update. If anybody have any idea I really appreciate it. Thanks

Of course, you are right and i agreed in that, but clearly this shift has happened but go back to the start of rfactor days and it was the best sim out there at that time, all the markers can be there still just not as detailed etc.
I know because i have converted many very detailed rfactor mod tracks.
If a tree is slightly off the proper actual tree (bar that funny one at snetterton, its iconic), it really isn't important to me, if it is to others then great no worries.
I'm not talking about general "bridge there" "tree there" and has "building at end of the straight"
I'm talking about all the "that tree there is not that green in real life in June".

Thats Awesome man. Im a big Drag Racing fan will be cool to have Santa Pod with the other strips out there for AC :)
Any tips to find drag tracks in AC? I've got a few but if you know of any good patreons or sites then I'd be glad to know.
Sand drag racing is new to me, never knew it was a thing.
Anyway Santa Pod is quite a way off sadly. Looks good for pictures' though. Would be one of those tracks where it would be nice to get community help.... hint hint, as i actually got permission to do this one.
I do all this on my own (bit of input from a bud but he mainly just gets loads of tracks to test) but this strip could be great, as it is its great for pictures because that gantry is iconic....

That's all well and good if the climates are similar the world over.. take 2 tracks for example in the same city, for arguments sake lakeside in Brisbane and Queensland raceway (Ipswich, but its close enough to be Brisbane, about 60-90 mins apart)
You'll be very unlikely to ever see snow at Lakeside, but at Queensland raceway it's a totally different climate, far colder in winter than Lakeside. Go further south, to Wakefield park, or even east to Morgan Park, it is possible that you will get snow there, Townsville, Darwin, not a snowballs chance in hell.
I think its great that racinjoe is trying to capture, even the vegetation and how the trees appear are different.. what each area looks like in the seasons, because i sure as hell wouldnt want my tracks in NZ, or Australia looking like a Canadian, US or Middle East climate.. this is a sim after all, isnt the whole point trying to simulate reality as best we can?
You're misunderstanding me, I think. Regarding vegetation, we're in full agreement. Capture how that looks throughout the season! A pine goes through the season differently than a birch, which looks different through the year than a cypress.

But snow? If you want to simulate reality, you should want snow to be a weather phenomenon rather than a season, because that's what it is in reality.

Here are two panoramas of the Red Bull Ring from their website to illustrate my point:
december 12.png
january 10.jpg

The first is from December 12, the second from January 10. Some days there's snow, some days there isn't. If this was AC, it would slowly start fading to white in mid December and would fade back to green some time in February. There is no winter look on this track in AC without snow!

I'm arguing, in an ideal world, snow shouldn't be part of the winter look of seasonal adjustments at all. Winter should look like winter because of the vegetation and light conditions. Whether there's snow should purely be a matter of weather.

Unfortunately, in our non-ideal world, we can't pull up SOL planner and configure our desired snow levels. We don't have working snow weather yet. We don't have graphics for snowflakes on the windscreen, there is no slider to increase snow build up on and off-track, no calculations for ice on the road... Right now, the only way to at least get a snowy look on the landscape is via the season. That's why I'd argue there should be a winter look (without snow!) but also a week or two some time in winter WITH snow (doesn't really matter how rare it is in the area so long as the chance is above 0) just so a player who wants to play in snow can set that up. If it only snows every other year somewhere, fine, but what if I want my simulated race to take place just then? It's a compromise. A workaround, until snow weather is implemented.

I love your work man, it really is amazing and it shows that you put passion into it. Thank you.

Just a little something I have been beavering away on.
Being from NZ, I closely identify with motorsports on this side of the world.
Since not alot of NZ content gets created, I have tried getting stuck into the Toyota Racing Series, which from this year is known as The Formula Regional Oceania Championship.
I've also done some kiwi skins for Group A's and some ACL Trans Ams but never released them because without being able to add logos on windscreens or side windows, I've always felt they're not finished.
This is still WIP. The mod is still in the works and I think is likely to be an encrypted pay mod. The model they are on uses the same 3d model as the one in the works, so FSR Tatuus F3 T318 is not the mod it will be running on in the end.

Anyways, here's the latest bit of work.

PM'd u :)

Guys, finally the mystery of the cm has been solved. Windows, in a very nice way, decided to start it in energy saving mode (using the integrated gpu and not the dedicated nvidia). Now everything goes smoothly. For those who find themselves in this situation, go to the windows settings, type "graphics" in the search bar, select graphics settings, select the cm/add it if it is not present, click on options and choose "high performance". Have a nice day

I need your expertise.

1.
when I go back with the cockpit camera, the body comes into the picture very quickly on certain modcars. Is there a way to change this? I want the front arms with hands to move the steering wheel, but I sometimes don't see enough of the cockpit when I move the camera back and then the driver's body comes in immediately.

2.
I notice that in the cockpit view, when I go back a little further, the numbers on the speedometer quickly become blurred. If I zoom in again, it becomes sharp. But I prefer to see enough from the cockpit. Is this normal?

Many thanks for your help Oliver

There's aerial LIDAR data from 2020 available for this track...
