Need someone familiar with the Longford track area to answer a few questions about the weather. Does Longford get colored foliage in the fall and snow in the winter? And what months are fall and winter in that part of the world? Trying to decide if I should include snow as part of the seasonal adjustments for Longford.
sadly am in Queensland, and never been to Tassie.. lived in similar climate in Christchurch NZ though, not that that helps..
I did a quick google search of images, Longford Tasmania Winter.

and select images. Plenty to give you an idea.

Hello,

after my PC freezed with CM opened, I have a problem: in night race, big light sources (as sun during sunrire or sunset, or the moon or big streetlights too) produce big glare (see the pic in attach). I tried to reset CSP in light section and I also tried to install the 1.79 CSP (I used the 1.76) but nothing changed.
Another issue: the headlithgts of the car I drive work, but seem to be less powerfull than before I have the problem and now it's difficult to drive in the night. And this with all different cars I tested.
Please, how can I fix this tow problem?

thank you very much

@mascot

Just wanted to give a quick report as I recall someone previously mentioning not being able to run in practice mode with the latest Littlebird. All seems to be fine for me and I also tried Race and Trackday with no issue.

One thing I hadn't previously noticed was the driver names.
Some absolute gold in there, Charlie Snorta in the Lavazza car

Thanks again.

Myself, thanks for the comment.

I have continued doing tests on various tracks and on some, like Nords (thank goodness), I can run alone, but on others what I mentioned happens to me: when try practice or hotlap, the game loads and just when it is about to start, it crashes, but no problem in race or trackday modes... and I'm not able to find a pattern that explains why it works on some tracks and not on others. Weird...

There is one car that i want to modify, change the engine power, fuel tank capacity and other little things that i personally need, but there is one problem, the car is encrypted. I contacted the "developer" of this car with an offer to buy a "decryption", but he did not answer. If there are any options to decrypt the data or is it impossible and only the developer of the car can decrypt?

Well the real autosport show is days away now. Put quite a bit into this little oddity but i reckon its about there. Overhauled the lighting and road surface as it is a a very shiny surface.

Its come quite a long way from when i first converted it.
Obviously the lights all flash so a picture is hard to convey the real look, but yeah....

Then

I was about to post that I took the car around the Nordschleife in Practice mode without it crashing, but evidently Nordschleife isn't a problem anyway!? Can you please name a couple of tracks where it does crash the game for you so I can try if it's the same on my end?

any chance you can pack all of them into one link?
Normally this would be packed if they had been finished at the same time, but all of these liveries have been purposely released individually so that @raceabit (my son) is able to benefit from the download traffic via sharemods (reward for effort - for his perpetual assistance & dedication), as I really don't wish to get donations or go onto patreon services.

This is predominantly a hobby and, as enthusiast sim-racer/s, we wish to share our works with the GTP community.

I would also ask/request the community for these liveries NOT to be packed and shared, thank you one and all for your understanding.

You may have also missed a previous post where this is mentioned - of this practice going forward. Hoping that the community at large understands the reason for doing this.

Happy racing!

edit: on a humorous note, this practice may not last, at least until he discovers another hobby or girls for that matter... so until that day occurs, I'll be pleased to revert to pack-downloads.

It looks like the area does get snow but in my research it doesn't sound like it gets it very often. The average winter temp in that area is just below 40 degrees. I think I might setup the seasons to not simulate snow or maybe just a very small hint of snow for a few days.

will you be releasing this? It IS an oddity, but one I am very interested in trying out.

Having grown up in a similar climate to Tassie, I would think that your thinking is along the right path. It didnt always snow in the southern parts of NZ (I grew up in Dunedin, closest tracks to me were Timaru/Levels and Teretonga. Highlands park didnt exist back then) Yes it got quite cold, often icy in the mornings, but if we had snow, maybe once every couple of years would it actually be enough to cover the ground. Nothing like we see that happens in the US every winter. Heck, as a kid we prayed for snow so we didnt have to go to school, but maybe every 2 or 3 years maybe, and we lived on the snowline. Now if you asked about Cromwell, where Highlands Motorsport Park is, that does get more snow, but still nothing like what we see the US gets.

Another thing I'm side tracking myself with is just how much real estate there is to play with on many mod tracks.
Obviously some modders put invisible walls in, but in my converts its just open fields or hills or car parks.
So started with this, grass drag strip / open field to hoon about in, separate to the track.
The car mod I had to sign up to a patreon (as such it won't be shared) to get a bunch of drag cars, this one is a sand drag car, who knew.

So yeah, some great terrains which are never really utilised and obviously car parks and grass fields can be used for many different things.

That's a nice incentive for @raceabit
The skins are lovely, I'm sure I have missed some of them.

Do you have a set of links to the skins on Sharemods?
Or do you at least have the car numbers so I can determine which ones I'm missing?
Thanks

Ideally, snow shouldn't be a matter of the season anyway but a result of weather, imo. The world doesn't turn white by calendar but through precipitation. It's like rain, just colder, so like rain, it should be handled through the weather app, in my opinion.

When you're designing the seasonal look of a track in spring, you also don't have to ask around first if it rains a lot in that area, and if so, spring dates get perpetually doused. No, you make its world look like it's going through it's seasonal cycle, e.g. you make the grass and leaves freshly green... and then you decide on the day's weather with the weather app! You can even decide the weather of the previous days, by dialing up how soaked the track is from showers the day before, even though the current weather is sunny!

Winter, similarly, should just mean the plantlife is going through its usual cycle, whatever that is. E.g. once colorful autumn leaves have finally fallen off the trees, the higher grass is dead... And if you want the world soaked from previous rain, or still covered from previous snow, or currently snowing, you should be able to set all that up through the weather app.

How rare snow (or rain) is in an area should then only matter if a player chooses "real conditions".

Unfortunately, snow, as a flexible weather type comparable to how our rain works, isn't implemented yet.

Instead it's sort of awkwardly part of seasonal adjustments. As is, I would ideally prefer if every track at least had a couple of weeks where it looks like a winter wonderland so, rare or not, that's an available option.

That's all well and good if the climates are similar the world over.. take 2 tracks for example in the same city, for arguments sake lakeside in Brisbane and Queensland raceway (Ipswich, but its close enough to be Brisbane, about 60-90 mins apart)
You'll be very unlikely to ever see snow at Lakeside, but at Queensland raceway it's a totally different climate, far colder in winter than Lakeside. Go further south, to Wakefield park, or even east to Morgan Park, it is possible that you will get snow there, Townsville, Darwin, not a snowballs chance in hell.
I think its great that racinjoe is trying to capture, even the vegetation and how the trees appear are different.. what each area looks like in the seasons, because i sure as hell wouldnt want my tracks in NZ, or Australia looking like a Canadian, US or Middle East climate.. this is a sim after all, isnt the whole point trying to simulate reality as best we can?

Firstly, offering to pay money to remove an encryption is a ridiculous thing to do lol and at that point you might as well call a fraud scammer and offer your credentials yourself

but in seriousness first check if the encryption is tied to data.acd or if it's just visual. Some modders encrypt their car visually but the data can still be edited (like vrc, RSS). If you can unpack and delete the data.acd and the car still works fine, then it is not data encrypted

If it is tied to data, then sol I'm afraid.

The complete set of x24 livery-links has just been updated on RD, here is the link... @raceabit mostly enjoys the workflow-learning and assisting with sourcing appropriate mod-decals, he also collects recyclable bottles/cans for 10c a pop, he's quite the little entrepreneur... With proceeds spent on go-karting & savings, enjoy!

On that basis though Forza Horizon is the best sim out there, which is demonstrably untrue.
Proper sims, like the ones F1 teams use, look pretty bare bones.
Having said that I like all the nice looking candy. But it was never 'better graphics' = sim. Not all that long ago it was the reverse in fact.
I've never heard anyone before say that part of what makes something a racing sim is the trees or grass texture.
But maybe that has indeed changed with the whole shift in the way sim racing has gone.
People more than ever, me included, like the nice graphics.

I can unpack data.acd, but if pack, the car does not work. So, if the data.acd is encrypted, there are no options to solve the problem?
