Why should someone not get rewarded for their time and effort doing quality work? He is genuinely one of the few that's doing pretty original contents for the platform....
That is not the point. The point is following the site's rules. FFS!
The rules should be for all and not only for a few (those that don't usually get likes).

Oh and some crystal balls don't delivery all the info some people ask for.
Like if it will be paid or free.

Nevertheless, I remember to saw a post from an admin about promoting paid mods, not being allowed.

Sorry pk3r72owns, nothing against you at all. I just don't like the pseudo philosophes posters, that always agree with all stuff
from people they like.

So if I didn't have a Patreon account, and posted that video of a mod in a mod discussion thread it'd be okay?

If someone else posted the video, and said something like "look at this cool mod that's being made" would that be okay?

If I posted a work in progress mod, that wasn't yet available anywhere at all, would that be okay?

Maybe there needs to be a specific work in progress thread or something?

The rule in the GTPlanet ToS is :
"You will not post advertisements or solicitations outside of designated areas or without proper authorization."

Which, (I'll admit) in the past I've probably fallen foul of. Like I think some of the videos I posted here were watermarked with a graphic displaying a link to the supporters page.

However, that video I posted, is exactly what it says on the tin. Just a video of some cars whizzing around a track mod in a game. On a forum about car games, in a thread about mods. I made no mention of any paid services, subscriptions or anything like that.

Ive got a link in my forum signature, but even then it's got useful information on getting tracks to work properly as the top post, and also, as said, you can see all of the tracks I'm currently working on without being a subscriber. I kind of wish it didn't blur the photos to be honest.

I'll edit the post to give some information that it'll be free, maybe it'll cut back on the confusion.

This is my first GTP Release!

View attachment 1227217

Today it's the turn of the two Reiter Engineering cars:
the SaReNi Camaro GT and the Reiter Gallardo R-EX GT3.
Once again, the cars were made with a lot of passion and they have many different features:

Gallardo:
  • fully functional display and Racelogic with 2 pages each (use EXTRA_A and EXTRA_B to change).
  • Sprint and Endu configuration depending on the skin
  • realistic physics based on real data
  • fully working lights outside + inside
  • Wobbling Exhaust
  • damage and dirt textures
  • Rain tires + physics
  • windshield wipers + automatic rain light
  • fully animated rear wing with correct bolt position for all 15 slots
  • Custom Sound

Camaro:
  • fully functional display with 2 pages (use EXTRA_B to change)
  • daytime running lights can be deactivated by EXTRA_A
  • all years with their bodykits
  • realistic physics based on real data
  • fully working lights outside + inside
  • rain tires + physics
  • windshield wipers

CSP 1.77 is needed for the custom inputs of some emissives

Together both cars are probably the white beauty and the black beast 😄

Thanks to all who helped and I hope you are looking forward to the underdogs of the GT3 sport.

Attached are 2 readmes for the skinners among you, there is EVERYTHING explained what to use and how.
Have fun with the cars

Max

can anyone confirm what all the extra stuff is for? do we need the add ons for the Audi r8 etc?

Hi guys,

i have a question or request i don`t know how to call it.

I decided to some kind of "refresh" my gt3 grid. For this purposes i downloaded the gt3 pack with all the ACC conversions. I want to use this cars with some other GT3s which i want t BOP ingame with ballast and restrictor.

The problem i have now is the BK Audi R8 LMS Sprint 2019 has only the "M" tires so it`s chanceless anyway. Its crypted so i can`t do anything with the CarTuner and i do not use Content Manager.
So the question is do someone know any further updates on this car including "S" tyres maybe? or could someone tell me how to add the tyres without CM if possible?

Second problem is crash_Porsche is much slower than the rest of the field. But i think i can do something with it with the CarTuner.

Thank you
BK's audi uses irl data, hence why it's entirely encrypted (can't even view the ini files). I don't think there are plans like adding different tyre sets but that shouldn't matter either way. 'M' or 'S' are just in name only. I can 100% guarantee the 'M' from BK's audi is different from the 'M' from the other acc conversions

Had a track day,,, my god, its funny as hell hearing them running around...lol

anyone else notice on quite alot of mods the Right mirror doesn't work anymore on CSP 0.1.180-preview108 ?
(downgraded back to 0.1.79 and mirrors work again on those cars... eg on the awesome Porsche 918 Spyder Roadster Weissach package)

EDIT : lights-patch-v0.1.80-preview1-full is the latest I can install without loosing the Right mirror (becomes black as of any higher csp version, also w preview115-full )

@jac0 , did you try the mirror config app? Its amazing for fixing aiming and depth of field as well as making monitors work.

I wouldn't give a **** about the post if it weren't for people just go out and just say so and so makes so much money from their Patreon as the only comment they like to make about someone's mod.

Try unticking 'high quality mirrors' in AC video settings.

Hmm ok thanks for ethe explenation.
The car is few seconds slower than other gt3 so i thought its maybe the tyres.
So the car is pretty useless.

Besides, this is mod discussion, plenty of people post Work in progress images without links to download them. If I posted this for free on Race Department, it'd be review bombed by everyone complaining that the free mod has issues
First of all, thanks for making the track mods.

About the you named it “complaining”, while I think nothing wrong by give a modder a review back. Give a 5 star review on a mod thats contains bugs, needs some improvements or is even bad made (Brno hist and Tripoli), does not help the modder either. Believe me, even the best historical AC-track modder @FatAlfie, does have its flaws, think also the best needs to know.

You are right about the last bit.

Regards Nukedrop he doesn't sell stuff, he asks for subs and as we know with subs some people just like to give people money, particularly in the gamer zone as many are living at home with Mummy and Daddy and have no bills and the older gamers have some disposable for the hobby.

And then we get pages of people guffawing over T REX mod...

As the car is undriveable for me and I use it only as a grid filler, I deactivated the extended physics for the car and reduced the weight to 1300 kg in car.ini. Now the lap times of the car are similar to the other GT3 cars I use.

Mmmm... I felt a bit identified with this definition... Let me explain, without acrimony or bad vibes, please, it's not a criticism of anyone, it's just my five cents.

Personally, I start from the basis that I cannot make harsh demands on something that has been given to me. Totally free. Maybe it's that I'm not so picky about the little flaws that a mod may have (absolute perfection doesn't exist), especially if it's a mod from one of my favorite modders, but I insist again, many do it for free! Also, as a general rule, when these small bugs are reported politely, the modder usually fixes them.

And regarding to modders earning money with his work, well, I don't see it as a bad thing, and also, I think it's something that regulates itself; if you're a really good modder, people will end up recognizing you and rewarding you in some way. If you're a cheater who takes advantage of other people's work, people will find out about it and leave you behind.

That some drop something new around here and coincidentally they have a Patreon? Well, I think that after a short time around sim world, we all know who can be forgiven for small "sins" and who cannot be forgiven...

Hi everyone, i was tinkering with the Kunos 962C Short Tail, giving it the more powerful engine from the longtail version for example, and i wanted to change the rims to the BBS version of the longtail, since a lot of liveries uses them. I've found a guy on RD who actually did it, but it doesn't seem to work (anymore), neither in CM Showroom or the CSP showroom.
How can i make it work?

Define "cheater who takes advantage of other peoples work".
That in strict terms rules out anyone who converts or mods a track or car, Ilija, anyone who makes trees/grass, greener/less green.
Basically 99% of anything people post on here.

I'm currently moved onto to making my own tracks, yet i still use props from other tracks, so what even is scratch made? Every tree hand crafted? Every tyre wall?
People reward others for various reasons, you only need to look at some of the patreon pages to see that if you pay more they offer stuff like 'special gold badge', pathetic things that register with people and make them feel a bit more special than the next guy.
This can be extrapolated into the wider world then you get 'prime' energy drink.....for example.

Its pathetic but easily ignored, there is a world based on removing money from peoples pockets and AC is no different.
Nukedrop to go back to him has video's where he tells you in great detail how to make the tracks yourself.
I'd urge people to do that personally as its much more rewarding (it does get tiresome though).
Bending over backwards and begging and paying people and making false prophets of them (no pun intended) in the hope they will do something you want or they will credit you for a different coloured tree you laboured over. That's not my game.

I'd take nukedrops posts any day over the
"oh hi guys i really wish someone would put this into AC its my favourite track"
or "look a t rex ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

Further to that much of the patreon stuff can be found for free if you know where to look, and even if you didn't want to do that you can sign up for a one off (cancel after first month) and get all the stuff that the fools have been paying for for months!

I finally bought the VRC Touring cars and BOPed them with the other available cars with ballast and restrictor.
At Donington i got the whole grid whishin 1 sec. Silverstone within 2.2 seconds.
Maybe intesrresting for someone

Btw. I am using the nonCSP version cause i am running an older CSP version (and so far i can not complaion about the physics )
So what i have done was:

PM3 Nissan and Volvo got 130kg ballast
PM3 BMW - no ballast
The VRC cars: Honda, Ford, Vauxhall got 50kg ballast
The f302 cars: Renault, Alfa, Audi - no ballast
GTsupreame - Peugeot (grid filler) got 150kg

All cars except the BMW got addiitonally 3% restrictor.

I am happy with the result for now. It´s like a BOP Version 0.5 :D The cars are good mixed in results.
a little BOP update to my 90s BTCC BoP attemt
---> VRC cars 50kg ballast, 60 was too much.
---> PM3 Volvo 140kg now , no 130kg

Define "cheater who takes advantage of other peoples work"...
Sorry, you're right, I have not been very specific... For me, cheater would be the one who claims that he has made a work from scratch and attributes it as his own, and in reality what he has done is copy and paste the work of others. And if he also wants to do business, then double cheater.

Someone who asks permission to use or modify a work, and also cites the original sources in the acknowledgments, is not deceiving anyone.

As I said before, I think that little by little we are all getting to know each other...
