Your idea works ok if only Ai, but if you use say supercars and your own skin, it shows wrong in that pit stall even if you used a v8 skin the names on the board show someone else's name.. real immersive that is.
if you only wanted pyyer to answer, why ask in public? Champ!
Each year its in Garage order of the championship. I couldnt care less where the cars are I know the player car is always at the start but say if i pick the car thats technically meant to be in the last garage that means that one would be at the start then the rest are in the wrong garage and the boards would be on the wrong garage all the way down the pitlane..... at least if you have them in the correct order the only out of place car would be the player car instead of the whole pitlane being in 1 garage further down anyway I only wanted it for the boards to be in order hence why i asked pyyer if it was possible and actually my idea would make even more sense because then you could have the player garage board as number 1 if you wanted too anyway. It would just be immerssive in the background for the track skin which is why i specifically asked "track" skin not car skins. Well bud thats exactly why i tagged him i didnt tag you nor did i ask for your input. Ive noticed further back you have been in arguments with people on here so im just going to leave it. Was just an idea to make the track skins more immersive.

I don't race online and don't play career mode, so I deleted many Kunos' especially the Lotus cars. I also deleted many skins I don't like. With newer mods, a skin folder size can be unbelievably large. I saved many gigabytes just by deleting skins.
Edit:
Still, 200 is too tight for me. I do my best to keep it under 500.
I'm now at 450 cars, 61 tracks, 300gb total AC folder
Me I just kept the "real" liveries from Kunos and racedepartment one.
only VRC-RSS-URD-ASR cars are added and some legion cars plus some add-on from kunos such as 3 skyline r34, 767b, etc.

It's beetween 200-220 cars with grids that are more or less filled.

2018 Ferrari 488 GTE Pack (Endurance and Sprint version)

1.png

There it is !

The new pack for the Ferrari 488 GTE EVO !
Now you have 2 version (Only visual changes !), endu version with lights and small flaps and the sprint version without endu lights and with bigger flaps !

What other news about this version ?

  • New front bumper (now working with skin)
  • New mirrors (and now you can paint and skin them)
  • New AO (and add a better AO for the interior)
  • New rear glass (you can skin them too)
  • Add side light number for the endu version
  • Reworked meshes and model for better performance in game !

Have fun !

Any chance of shortening the file name (yzd_ferrari_488_gte_evo_2018_le_mans) ?
There are to many characters (max is 32 iirc), which prevents CM to record driven distance and max speed.

Also a lot should be based on what you like to use in sim racing, while back i binned all of my F1 mods, including RSS ones.
Its mamothly dull in real life and even more dull in a game (IMO).
Obviously if your a massive fan then (royal) your opinion differs and I'm cool with that as you should be with mine.
As I've converted more stuff I've deleted other stuff i don't use, rally tracks all went for example.

Just do what you want basically based on what you like, and if you have the storage just store it up.
Every so often i bin a bunch of stuff but mainly as its a type of car i don't like, then there is stuff like the DRM mod that stays there because the cars are cool, but they always without fail disappoint me when i race them.
I really should delete them.

Something else i'm keen to do these days is like with rally stuff, i load up DiRT, or open free roam Forza horizon etc.
This helps for me, to remove stuff that is just filler that other games do better.
This struck me when i was converting a plane into AC... and then i loaded up MSFS.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...

(BTW only quoted your post masscot to keep some continuity)
I've kept F1 cars in a separate folder on the unlikely off chance that one day I'll suddenly want to drive one, but I really should just delete any paddleshift versions as they're completely devoid of soul. The 70s/80s analogue F1 cars can be a lot more fun to drive.

I see AC as an playable encyclopedia for race and road cars (e.g. who was the fastest 1968 in Monza? or what famous car was produced from Mercedes in 1988, and i have the answers in my collection, the 3D model ready to look at and drive, the skin from the time, the drivers and all the information about the car.)

I work on them, upgrade them to real/stock,make, CSP, Shaders etc. and then they come into my Virtual Museum, I do play with them sometimes, but not really often, just to check the mod, I collect the only best version of every real model what i can find, and the hobby goes on, that's what AC is about for me, collecting cars that you can work on yourself, all cars that are encrypted are e.g. Tony Barracudas, TGN, boring 2000hp Japanese Driftcars's and much more. are not even downloaded for free because the quality is too bad or they are encrypted...sad

Casual drivers, F1 pilots, gt racers, touring car destroyers, drifters, rally drivers, online players, offline players, vintage lovers, modders, collectors, hoarders, nitpickers, young, old, veteran, newcomer, African, American, Antarctic (I guess), Asian, European, Oceanic... and curiously, they all fit in some corner of AC... Life is great.

Random question, anyone ever converted the URD 1997 911 GT1 from sequential to manual? I am pretty sure even the racecars were 3 pedals cars....1998 car that Kunos did is supposed to be a sequential car.

Here my 2nd chameleon skin, this time for the beautifull 458 Spider (by 101Creative) , now with golden rims! 🥳
I figured out how to get a cameleon skin without need to put anything extra in the main extension ext_config.ini...
Should be drag&drop installable via CM and not overwrite anything original, just adds the one skin.

Try it out and let me know what you think (or what can be improved)!

My theory is thus, F1 for a driver is great, between the racing (which at times must be massively dull even i real life, too safe, too much about the car), the bits where you earn loads of cash and get to travel the world and get fame and adulation.
None of that bit is going to happen in codemasters F1.
All you get is the dull bits, made more dull by the fact your sat in a room at home.

For me how is that any fun. There are hundreds of race series that don't gain a huge amount of attention or riches, but are fun.
That is where I want sim racing to step in.

Its like with GT3 racing in ACC, if the game really showed sim value reality, it would need a sub game where by you'd have to either be a 50-60 something multi millionaire from some slightly dodgy Russian / middle eastern funded business
Or be the son of the man who owns the slightly dodgy Russian / middle eastern funded business.
If you failed at the sub game, you don't even get to pay for the drive.

Same with codemasters F1, you'd need dodgy backing from your dodgy country, or a mega rich Dad who is friends with one of the F1 team owners, fail that sub game. no drive.

Or Brit car, where you have to have more youtube subs than Jim Broadbent to get a drive...

And Brazilian too, but without any bmw roadster z3 mod...

First draft of the seasonal texture change mod for Nords, same as the Monza one I released a few days ago. If you tried that mod, then you know what to expect with this one. As always, backup your current track folder, so you can revert back if you don't like the mod.

ks_nordschleife_mod

Couple of notes:

-- Has a new vao patch that reduces the amount of black tree shadows. If you don't like the change, just delete the patch file from the track folder.
-- Has some custom shader value changes for a few materials in the ext_config. If you don't like the changes, delete the ext_config file and rename ext_config_original to ext_config to go back to the shader values from the stock CSP config.
-- The mod hides all of the stock Kunos 3D trees. If you want them back, there is a 3D Tree Removal section in the ext_config. Just delete the whole section or set each entry to ACTIVE = 0.
-- The included tack skin does not need to be enabled. It's nothing more than a handful of textures I prefer that are not seasonal dependent. I included them in case you'd like to try them.

There will definitely be a future update to this because i'm not as thrilled with this one as I was with the Monza version. I need to get away from it for awhile to get a fresh perspective on it down the road.

In the DATA folder --> drivetrain.ini --> Gearbox --> SUPPORTS_SHIFTER= 1

And yes, sequential cars have a clutch to start

Hey,
I fixed it. If you look at Sol's Discord Sever in the "pre-release" channel, you will find Sol 2.2.6. It also has the new controller, which has a "difficulty" slider for the new rainFX physics. It will generate less wetness with the very new CSP versions if wanted.

I will release Sol 2.2.6 end of the month, together with Pure 0.154....
Hi Peter, not sure if this is viable or not, but would it be possible to get an option in the Sol Planner that automatically sets the date to (for example) the day of the year when the sun reaches its zenith in the sky, based on the track's geotags?
Reason for the request is, when trying to maximise daylight for northern hemisphere tracks by setting the date to mid summer, if you then visit a southern hemisphere track you'll find yourself in mid winter with low sun angles and have to manually adjust the date to get high sun angles again.
If there was an option to always be in mid summer (or any other season) depending on the track's location it could automatically adjust the date for you.

Hm. I need to find out the best way for it, but actually it could be just the 21.06 for northern and the 21.12. for southern sphere.
I don't think i will get this into Sol Planner. But i'm planning the Pure Planner and maybe there could be such option. I try to think of it when implementing the fuinctions.

Fantastic! Many thanks Peter, and for the quick reply.

Thanks for requesting this, always screws up our serversetup.

Bit too low don't ya think ?
I think Masscot or someone posted a reply a few pages back...

if you plan on collecting cars in AC , better buy a 2TB hdd/ssd at once!

my AC is located on one of two 1TB SSDs and i keep running into Disk Full errors, then having to remove some stuff from it in order to be able to install new mods... I'm now at approx 6000 cars and 1000 tracks and still daily looking for new mods actively (it's an addiction, beware!)

So even with Compression Tool in CM schrinking down the content from 1.9 TB to 840 GB

once my D is completely full (w AC only) I'll be forced to look for a method to have 2 content folders at the same time on 2 drives... ;)
Tools is great, as been collector from day one i have some stuff lol , i use several ac installs so i can do gt3 races in one, street cars in second etc. Space is so cheap so i have backed up all stuff too.... got 4tb sdd for ac only and over 3 tb free space still.

while on a small break from modding, enjoying the book "Hunt the Shunt" for a third time, made a livery for The Hesketh Racing, Postlethwaite modified March 731 Ford.

Luckily it's a F1 1973 mod exist and can be found in the web, but it lacked the exact skin oh legen..wait for it...dary racing team. The 3D model is not perfect, but still a good mod to drive and to feel old school metal horses, the current livery can make you feel driving exact March 731 (Silverstone GP 1973 for example)
archive contains skin only
