Just to let you know, the [TRACK_OCCLUDER_BOX_...] sections caused issues for me - causing cars / bits of track to be incorrectly hidden
I've heard of that happening for some folks; not sure why. I use it only to define areas of no rain. Just comment those lines out with semicolons or delete them if you're having this issue. (FYI, I'm on an older version of CSP -- 1.80 preview 1 -- so it's possible this issue occurs with more recent versions. If anyone has any insight into this, I'd love to hear from you!)

Beta tester continuously making the Modern Day Racing Series better by adding stuff and finding bugs. Nashville seems to be good and I might will release it this week. Zwiss added the missing guard rails for Dijon 1979 and I made a bunch of car fixes wich took me two days to make only the Audi GT3 working with a acceptable BOP for the GT3 championships. Flugplatz Niederstetten 1973 (that night picture I posted Sunday) is also good and we added some more stuff to make it more enjoyable.

Hello,

I have noticed some issues on the Marcos :
Somes holes in 3D models (between the door and the roof, both side)
1.jpg

A hole in 3D steering wheel, between center steel part and leather, only on the left side
2.jpg

With your new rims, they are gold in previews but silver ingame (maybe it's normal, I don't know) and front tires are through the road

3.jpg
Thank you for updating your cars !

EDIT : And I have noticed on your Vertigo, brake discs doesn't rotate properly, the same issue you had with rims on V202 but here only with brake discs and on the right side.

Issue: the Marcos does not cast any shadow, the Gillet does.

question for you 3d model guru's: @DaWallace @Shokeus and many many more (sorry i do no know your names):

how hard is it to turn something like this renault 19 into something akin to the Gillette or Marcos or Bmw?.

the reason i ask? well i am a total noooob when it comes to this kind of thing, however i am pretty experienced in the real life scenario and i can say say that working on car's that are worked on by somebody else normally causes problems. undoing someone else's work is both time consuming and frustrating (most of the time). Is it the same in this space??

how much work would it be to turn this low poly model into something worthy of 2023? is it even possible?

To much time and to much work. even the base model looks like that it is to much low poly. i'm not really good and fast in 3d modeling and i worked a lot of hours on the Mantis and the Vertigo. Would say a lot of weeks for now. 😅

btw. here is the first progress on the Ultima GTR

Hi all,

Does anybody have any idea what's wrong with this mods windscreen and side windows ?
Thanks.
I've seen that on one other car, and also just now on @DaWallace's DW BMW Z4 M Coupe GT3. Guessing it might be a new CSP bug?
It only happens in the right eye in my VR HMD, and only when I move my head towards the windscreen.

@DaWallace some smoothing on the BMW mirrors would be welcome :)

I really must get around to updating the static choppers on MV.
When we originally did the track the patrolling versions were still only a pipe dream.
Some flag-waving spectators would be good too.

Edit: just noticed the metal armco barriers have the wrong texture applied. They currently look like they're made of concrete.
They should have barr_mapl_gaurdrail_001_diff.dds applied, and a new nm creating too.
At the moment the concrete wall texture barr_mapl_jersey_bare_dirty_001_diff.dds (and its nm) is applied.
Easily swapped with a skin.
Looks like nobody ever noticed this over the past few years.

X90
And yet, they're still available for sale... fair to say that's a very hard no for someone to pay a cent for an out of date, in-beta-for-a-decade mod...
I did, lol...the cars aren't terrible but yeah pretty old by modern AC mod standards....

The Marcos doesn't have these code lines in the drivetrain.ini:

[DOWNSHIFT_PROTECTION]
ACTIVE=1
DEBUG=0 ; adds a line in the log for every missed downshift
OVERREV=200 ; How many RPM over the limiter the car is allowed to go
LOCK_N=1 ; prevents shifting in N or R while moving

Maybe it was left out on purpose ?
Btw: all cars cast shadows.

Trying out some old URD cars, has anyone fixed PX1 Aura's exhaust flame location?
View attachment 1280186
FYI I figure I share this...
You need to unpack the data for this car and then edit the flame.ini file, you can just copy and paste this

INTENSITY=10
EDIT_BIG=1
EDIT_STATE=4
BURN_FUEL_MULT=11
FLASH_THRESHOLD=6

[FLAME_0]
POSITION=-0.345,0.35,-2.2
DIRECTION=0,0.25,-1
VSIZE_START=0.05
VSIZE_END=0.1
IS_LEFT=0
SIZE_MULT=0.7
LSIZE=0.25
GROUP=0

[FLAME_1]
POSITION=0.345,0.35,-2.2
DIRECTION=0,0.25,-1
VSIZE_START=0.05
VSIZE_END=0.1
IS_LEFT=0
SIZE_MULT=0.7
LSIZE=0.25
GROUP=0

I assume if you delete all that the flame is gone, which is diesel accurate I guess....

If you want to change the color from the blue/white ish flame, I took these from the Nismo GTR LM, paste these into flame_presets.ini:

I like this car because it looks alright, drives alright(with hybrid system), and is competitive with the VRC P1 car, since the Kunos' much older Audi is not....

I quite enjoy them, particularly the Oreca 07. Their FFB, like most other URD cars, is really good with a few tweaks to the scaling in the FFB app.

They just desperately need an update - which is likely never coming.

What's interesting, though, is that they did recently update the ol' flippy Mercedes LM from an outdated version from roughly the same ~2015 release period, and re-released it for free. Perhaps there's hope.

Really though, does anyone have this or no? I've been searching everywhere for a long time now
There are a few trucks in AC yes... a pick of some I have given 4.5 or 5 stars (with only 1 preview for each):

So, recently I got myself URD's JT5 set and I think they should and could do better for a paid mod. I don't want to say too much, but I've made some much-needed fixes to the three cars despite the hoops and obstacles. I can post them here if folks here need updates, I'll just post a preview of one of the changes here.

Edit: if you want fun, well-made (albeit rough around the edges) SuperGT-related mods, go check out Chivas AutoArt's latest works.
Been running these changes for a few days already, and I feel there's nothing much else to fix. No screenshots this time because I'm lazy :P

Basically, the majority of the fixes are on the driver3d.ini and ksanim files, while the SNX needs a massive rework and this is just a bandaid for it. Everything else in the data.acd of each car is untouched in its encrypted-ness. Please make backups in case something messes up.

URD JT5 Moyoda:

  1. Updated steer.ksanim and data.acd file
  2. Updated textures for the rearview LCD screen
URD JT5 Shiro:

  1. Updated steer.ksanim and data.acd file
URD JT5 SNX:

  1. Updated steer.ksanim and data.acd file
  2. PBR updates
  3. Updated interior textures (the UV map is so messed up)
  4. Rearview LCD screen brand and model texture update
  5. Rollcage is now black as it should
  6. Steering button labels
  7. New pipe texture and normals
  8. New AO and Map texture

New more accurate driver model/posture/shifting animation for @petercrill's Volkswagen Polo GTI 2014.
Remove the .txt extensions from the files and put the steer.ksanim and shift.ksanim in the 'animations' folder, and put the driver_base_pos.knh in the main car folder.

(also works on the KingStriker car, which uses the 101 Creative car as a base)
Hello
I already renamed it, but it continues as a text file...

So back after an epic trip to Sagittarius A on Elite, and thought I'd check out the forum cos there couldn't be that many posts since I last came here. Only 200 pages behind >_<

I'm in the making of a Nashville Street Circuit. It seems it's a convertion of LFT track right? Because as far as I know from watching his video, he's using some of my ****** concept track I made in the past (the bridge is the ****** one I did lol)

However these are some WIP photos of my project, which is on going.

Hi buddy
Thanks for the WIP you did, even though it is very basic it is the only version currently avalible on AC.
I see in your original post on RD you invited people to help. That was a number of years ago and many people have asked how the WIP is progressing with no reply given.
Maybe he did use your original WIP for the base of his track, is it that such a bad thing? He made it for rfactor so didnt steal your thunder in the AC community.
We have all seen the work that Rainmaker has done to Assetto Corsa mods over the years so you can be certain that there will be significant improvements made to the rfactor version.
If I were you I would be super happy, you yourself said your skills were limited and you were still learning ( as we all are ).

how much work would it be to turn this low poly model into something worthy of 2023? is it even possible?
retopoing really depends on the complexity of the base mesh. a car exterior like a modern hypercar would take more work than something angular like an 80s buick regal

main problem comes from the inaccuracies in the low poly model compared to the actual car itself that you have to account for (a lot of low poly cars texture things like panel gaps and holes and whatnot, because some cars (especially race cars) it can be hard to find good reference images

A low-poly model is a pain in the A... Is it worth it? To tell you the truth, no, it's not worth it because the more you touch it, the more it breaks.
But you can give it a try; you don't have to lose anything. The time that you would lose, you will gain knowledge.

thankyou for the reply :) Ultima looking good
But if you really want a car, like the Renault 19, you can search at first for a better 3d model, before you invest a lot of time on a low poly model. Maybe there exists a better 3d model street version car, but as base to work with, a lot better as the low poly model. Then rework the car to the race version.
And as Greg_ST already said, it's a good start to learn a lot about modding and how it works.
I learned a lot while i was working on the Mantis and Vertigo. But it's a long way, so you need perseverance and ambition. And AC modding needs strong nerves.😅
