LOL, I just jumped here from Bookface having seen this

Annotation 2019-11-21 181723.png

and you post that

Looks good! Are the contrails fixed to the jet or do they stay static?

I *think* from memory I used Brun's existing fighter jet vectors and added more jets and played with the 'timings' and maybe the height.
The 'timing' is really controlled by starting the jets miles away. They start when the race starts (or maybe when you join the track) so if you want a delay, move their start position further away.
I remember it being a LOT of trial and error, that's why I was gutted when i realised I'd lost the config.

I saw the post on RD about starting the jets 50km away so I'll have a play around and see what I can come up with. Just had a crazy thought but 1000 of them might be pushing it slightly :lol:

The contrails look like they are fixed to the jet as they only extend a certain distance and don't hang around which is a shame. Maybe there's a way of sorting this but it's beyond my limited scope of knowledge.

Cool ! Thanks for this extra layout.
Works absolutely fine, even AI has an idea where to go :D
I do get more vibration through my DD wheel (probably the changed road mesh ?)

I added a little bumpy because I thought it was too smooth.
I might have overdone it...
return to smooth?

The new one indeed felt like it was freshly (very well) done smooth tarmac (maybe they did ?)
But I don't think yours is overdone either. It was just very noticeable moving from the original to the changed version.
Will have to try different cars. Tested with the Atom now...

That page means deleted site unfortunately. Happened to other mod sites in the past.
I hope they'll pop up somewhere.

Didn't know that meant a deleted site. Shame, but as you say hopefully they'll pop up somewhere again.

Happened before, a few times even. Could be temporary.
Fingers crossed.
omg....i legit have been writing all the cars i was going to download after work on a large sticky note. i have 16 cars written down in detail. and now its down :'( any idea how long they stayed down in the past?

Anything from a couple of days to several weeks...

In the meantime: Velos has updated the Ariel Atom 500 to 1.3 (did not try it yet).
It says complete rework...

https://velosmodsworkshop.com.mx/ariel.html

Edit: at first glance:
- it now has the two small windscreens added (like the AC Modded / Legion version)
- new exhaust system (like the AC Modded / Legion version)
- fire extinguisher removed (?)
- new shock absorbers (like the AC Modded / Legion version)
- new seats (like the AC Modded / Legion version)
- larger wing
- eyelets added to the tube frame
- car seems to have grown in size

Visually (#83 is Velos mod)

I'd say Velos Atom has had steroid threatment... :D

Thank you for reply:)

Fixed because the AIcar hits the barrier:(

What the hell are those lights on Velo's rather oversized Atom?

Not trying to argue with you as you seem to know more about them than I do (you've actually driven one haven't you - whereas I only sat in the passenger seat for a few laps round Oulton Park many years ago) but you sure they're not an after-market thing cause everywhere I look I don't see many 500 v8's with those fitted. And they only made 25 of them according to the web lol.

Sorry, typo corrected, thanks.
I'm really going by the info I found about this Ltd Edition. In fact, I have never seen one of these IRL.
According to the pics in the link I added, this version has the headlights fitted to the tube frame, which looks original. I don't know either why Velo has put all these gauges in, since the Ltd seems to have a Motec screen.
The one I got to drive was the "normal" Atom.

Hey does anyone have a stock Aston martin Vulcan? not the vulcan R or the AMR, i have both those i just need a bone stock standard vulcan rly bad

I'd say Velos must have been high on something when he did this. It's totally wonky.

Unfortunately, the 'rework' is not exactly what I'd rate as 'good work'. The chassis is huge. The wheels are small. The handling is dubious. It went straight into the trash after I drove it for five minutes.

The new Kyalami is so epic good, damn! And shes still beta diapers. Nice work dude.

Is the AI working for you? All the other cars get stuck in the pit lane for me (crashing into the pit wall)... though I saw Chris Hayes had AI behaving themselves in his video review. Odd.

EDIT: I just read the discussion thread on Racedepartment and it seems there's a known issue with the pit lane line. Apparently the AI is OK when starting from the grid. Sounds like there will be a fix in the next update.

Thank you for your work and for sharing! I love this track and think it's great that you've revamped it. It is located in an old mining area (filled heap) and has to deal with compaction problems. That's why she had become very wavy and hunchbacked (also because of the trucks that race here) and was re-surfaced some time ago.
Well done! Thank you!

That's cool and as I said wasn't my intention to argue with you or anything (i went to bed right after I posted my comment and realised it may have sounded that way). The Atom I got to have a passenger ride in was a 500 and I definitely don't remember those lights on it. Personally I think they look a bit crap so I wonder if most owners take them off ;) What I do remember is being scared out of my wits at first but then grinning from ear to ear at just how mad it was. Fast doesn't begin to describe it.
Weird how the Motec isn't on Velo's version - maybe he based it on the mod from GTA 5 :lol:
