Poor man VR? RHM is nothing like VR! You got to try VR, it will rock your world.
Agree! Love PSVR and eagerly waiting for PCars2, AC PSVR support....But when I see e.g. the VR footage of Pcars2 Ithink the PSVR has not enough 'power' to reach this level of graphic details? I played around with Trinus PSVR but for me it is too much hassle to make it work the easy way. Still struggling with HDMI second screen in Windows 10. Probably because I play with a gaming laptop?

I recently also downloaded the Laguna Seca and Sebring. Still have to test these tracks. Since I switched to PC so many content with all the car and track mods that I need a solution for lack of time :)

4.2 Laguna Seca seems crazy bumpy, also turn one I am getting weird collision....I think I am just gonna wait for Kunos' version

There is a new v4.3 update on RD. I guess there was some kind of invisible wall which is probably what you were experiencing. I totally forgot about this track, so I didn't try it until 30 minutes ago.

I am terrified every time I hit that crest after the start/finish line in my Shelby Cobra. I need to work on the differential for this track. The Cobra is the only car I've tried so far and it's definitely not bumpy - I'll try another car now, but I'll drive a stiffer race car.

Hey there Cote, OK, I think I'll jump in and pre-order up that Occulus bundle thingy for US$399. on Amazon........ I've got an i7-7700k/GTX10170 so I'm guessing that should be fine  Are there any details I need to be aware of when I set it up for AC? Cheers....👍

It is all here, http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...s-rift-cv1-support.32820/page-107#post-907495

But don't worry, it is very easy and yes you will be fine with your present set up.

This is something different. I'm not going to attest to the quality of anything you might find on this site (except for a few of the Ebisu tracks and a couple others). It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of cars or tracks stink, but I'd rather let you decide that than me. If you're an aspiring car modder maybe you'll find a good base car to work on modifying, jumpstarting your car modding career. Maybe you'll just waste a hundred hours of your time and want to punch me in the face for posting this link. That's the exciting thing!! Nobody knows!!! :D

In the download section for cars - there is often a link to download ALL of the cars available from that "pack". I believe it's always up top. Or, you may pick and choose, obviously.

Let me know if you find anything worthwhile (besides mainstream mods like Lake Louise).

EDIT: You can do the single-click download & install with Content Manager if you click on the CM logo which is next to the traditional download button for every car & track on the site.

Hey there Cote! I know this is OT....., so I got my Rift yesterday , hooked it up but I can't get my computer to recognize the Rift as a display monitor in the "Display Properties" dialogue box. Only my regular display is recognized. The Rift motion sensor works, so I can literally move the Rift headset around and watch the view move around in AC using my regular monitor...........I just can't get the game to illuminate up in the headset . I've looked all over the internet, any chance you know where there is a decent troubleshooting site for this problem? This link kinda addresses my issue but it's so dang old it doesn't really address the latest win 10, Rift firmware, etc.

Any thoughts? Cheers....👍

"I can't get my computer to recognize the Rift as a display monitor in the "Display Properties" dialogue box."

You should not have to do that, assuming you already have downloaded and installed Oculus Home, all you need to do is select Rift in the AC menu as display, as soon as you will enter the track the game will transfer to your goggles.
If you want to see your desktop or anything in your computer in your goggles, you will need to download Virtual window or Big Screen.
beside downloading Oculus Home and select Rift in the AC menu as display( rendering mode), their is nothing else to do.

The resolution should be the resolution of the screen you are using

Man, this is so hilarious......I am so close.....yet so far from getting my Rift to work.....:banghead: ....right now with the Rift headset and one flat computer screen attached to my PC............I can only see AC on my regular flat computer and not on my Rift headset. The Rift Headset tracking is working, so I can look around, get out of the car, etc. and see all of that on my regular computer screen only...LOL. The Rift goggles (headset) is illuminated, but there is text on the Rift headset screen that says "UNKOWN SOURCE. You are trying to run an app from an unknown source. Oculus has not reviewed this source for security, comfort, content or health and safety. To run this app please remove your headset and visit general settings in the Oculus app."................:lol::eek:.

Ok, now I know what your issue is.

To allow content from unknown sources:

  1. Open the Oculus app on your PC computer
  2. Click
    14353905_967022743408625_149031302_n.jpg
    and then select Settings
  3. Click General in the left menu
  4. Next to Unknown Sources, click to allow content from unknown sources

Yep, that did it. First impressions of VR...................lol.

Thanks Cote.....

So, @kapnk006 - What's the verdict? You in love yet? I'm dying to try the Rift with Assetto Corsa, but I refuse to even try it for a second until I know I'm in a position to build a new computer and get the rift for myself. Unfortunately, my currently laptop won't run it - stupid SLI - and I know if I actually try the Rift with AC right now, I'll never be able to go back to the 2D experience again. Right now I have such a terrible setup with my 55" XBR being 8-9 feet away. Seeing ceiling fans, windows & curtains and furniture in my peripheral vision while driving is a 🤬 immersion killer, let me tell you.

So tell us...Did your erection last more than 4 hours? Did you have to seek medical attention, like those TV ads for Viagra tell us to? :D

He his too busy with his rift to reply,

@Masscot Not sure you will ever get a 'Nuclear" brake light :D, but the brake lights are hardly visible when not using PP, but then PP is very performance demanding, so for many, like me, PP in VR is not an option.
I have to mention that I am actually happy the brake lights do not show well in VR without PP, as the AI as a tendency to brake erratically in curves sometime, because of the way they drive, not seeing the brake lights then is a bonus for me.
I also do not really need to see the other cars brake lights to know when to brake myself and finally most race cars do not have brake lights anyway.
You are right, the brake lights in other SIM, in VR, are much more easy to see.

Thanks for asking ALB! OK, I am finally able to report back a bit about my first 3 days experience with VR and the Oculus Amazon Bundle. Hey you asked, so here goes:

1) Oculus CV-1/Touch Bundle Packaging from Amazon: Beautiful, high quality printed Box, but not intuitive once you open the box.
2) Is there a software DVD for my PC to help me use my new VR device....WTF?
3) Why is there no "Quick Setup Guide"....?
4) OK, so I went to Youtube and searched "How to hook up Oculus" ......
5) Ah! OK, so I need to go to the Oculus website to download the software....OK....now we're getting somewhere!
6) Oculus Software Downloaded...COOL!
7) Software Setup Instructions: Why during the setup instructions is it telling me I need to hook up my Oculus Remote Controller and Xbox Controller? The bundle package does not come with a Oculus Controller and I don't own an Xbox Controller. I just want to drive in Assetto Corsa RIGHT NOW!
8) AH, OK, so I just kept hitting the "SKIP" buttons during installation.
9) HEY! I am in Assetto Corsa, sitting in my McLaren 650S GT3, Oculus VR Headset is ON. Wait....WTF.....why can I see the game my flat screen PC monitor....but not in the Oculus Headset?
10) One hour later......Thank you @Cote Dazur, Per your instructions I clicked the......"Allow Oculus to recognize software from unknown sources"
11) Hey! I'M IN! I'M SITTING IN THE MCLAREN 650S GT3!

Point is....the VR experience is damn fascinating, forget about Assetto Corsa for the moment. Getting it to work in AC was clunky and makes me realize that Oculus/VR Manufacturers are in their infancy have really have NO IDEA how to reach a broad PC audience with a plug-and-play mentality (not early adopters who are techie) like me. Now for the good part: Once you get the Headset to function....and When you've become obsessed with AC over the last couple years like I have, VR somewhat allows you to take your obsession one step further and literally "Get inside of the game".....in a 4th dimension (?) of sorts.....that gives me a TOTALLY new perspective on what AC is. I'm less impressed by the visually quality (or lack there of) and more impressed with the fact that It TOTALLY freaked me out when I pulled off the side of the racetrack at Brands Hatch during a race, got out of the car, looked rearward, toward the back of the car, could see the beautiful sheen of sunshine glimmering off that massive, beautiful GT3 spoiler, and off in the distance was able to watch the field of cars come by......as if I was a spectator watching the race from the grandstand.

12) Now, I suppose the next few days will be spent by me reading the 108 page Oculus Forum over on AC to learn how to tweak SS, PD ASW, STD and the dozen other settings that will hopefully improve experience....

13) SUMMARY: WORTH THE SPEND FOR ME BUT NOT SURE IF EVERYONE WILL FEEL THE SAME WAY.

You are right, the brake lights in other SIM, in VR, are much more easy to see.
I mainly run in the GT classes (and my current obsession is the 911 RSR) so I do find brake lights quite useful - not so much for cornering, but more for avoiding incidents. I absolutely love the new AI algorithms and the fact that the other cars can spin, take each other out and cause some pretty big crashes. With a full grid and ten laps of LeMans you can expect three or four such incidents per race (and these are quadrupley awesome to behold in VR) but if one happens halfway down Mulsanne at full tilt you need to see the brake lights coming on ahead of you to slow down in time and avoid being part of the melee. It's a shame Kunos don't recognise how VR dulls things like distant brake lights and give them a little boost for better visibility when playing in VR.

Not sure if you've seen it but there is a recent sound mod for the RSR that's supposed to be really good: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/porsche-911-rsr-2017-sound-mod.15052/.
Thanks - I'll be sure to test that later. I installed the Fonsecker sound mods to all available cars (except his 458 GT2 one, which I thought totally destroyed the character of that car) and one of them was for the RSR. It did improve it, but this one seems to get even better reviews. Thanks again..!

yeah Road America is pretty fantastic. As noted in the vid there are some stuff looks like rF vintage stuff but it drove great. AI has a tiny wobble through the Sargento bridge but it races well.
