Has any one here been modding sounds at all? I've successfully converted various cars to my liking, but there's one thing missing from my Supras.

I've got all the sounds I want now including some nice blow off valve sounds, but I can't get the turbo whistle to work, it's not there at all. There are cars and mods in the game with some audible turbo whistle so there must be some way of getting it to work with my Supras. I suppose I could be cheap and replace the wind sound but I'd rather not. Any body have a clue how to go about this? I do have a turbo sound file in my SFX folder already, it's the only file which doesn't seem to activate.
You have a Supra in Assetto Corsa? I WANTS ONE!!!!!

Where did you get it my friend?

Searched there earlier and couldn't find anything related, didn't really fancy starting a thread there for such a small question with probably a simple answer, especially as it would be my first post :embarrassed:. I'm going to try and add in the turbo sound file as if it were an engine note, blend it in to a certain rpm range and see how that goes.

Edit:

Alright, I got it working with two methods. First I tried adding the turbo on it's own in the engine + engineINT files, but no result. Secondly, I tried adding it as an additional transmission whine sound and it worked, with the bonus of the hissing getting louder up the rev range, but this locked out the transmission whine - so it can only load a single file in that section.

Thirdly, I removed it from the transmission section and into the engine sample section, then told it to operate within certain RPM range. That worked too and I have the transmission whine with it, the only issue now is that the turbo whistle is rather quiet, but at least it's there now.
Hopefully with the new sounds in AC there will be less need for sound mods. :)

Hey AC friends, quick question as you guys are much more knowledgeable about mods. One of my favorite fantasy tracks was Maple Valley from Forza, any luck that this one is out there somewhere?

I've searched for Maple Valley but no luck. Another question, I've downloaded and installed a few tracks but some tracks do not load in the game, ie Trial Mountain and a few others. I extracted and put into AC folder, same as others that loaded just fine. Is there inconsistencies with installing tracks or is this something I may be doing wrong?

I don't think there is a Maple Valley track, you should frequently check racedepartment.com, I find it to be one of the most active sites that offers AC mods.

In terms of installing the tracks, you should extrat the track from the zip file into your Documents/Downloads folder and then paste it into the assettocorsa/content/tracks location. I also found that the e.g the Nordschleife wouldn't work for and crash back to the main menu when I drove under a certain mode (Time trail I believe), sometimes tracks only work under certain modes, simply use the Training mode for example, maybe it'll work there :)

Edit: Just checked, the Nordschleife doesn't work in the Time Trail mode, so you should try Trail Mountain under Training or Hotlapping :)

You have to also really pay attention to the folder structure.

For example, I believe Trial Mountain comes with both a forward & reverse layout, but they're both packed into one folder. You have to move each layout from the main Trial Mountain folder and put them separately into your tracks folder.

In other words, your tracks folder should have...

TrialMountainForward
TrialMountainReverse

Ahhhhh, thanks guys. Your advice worked. I also noticed that since I changed the file name, it wouldn't load into game, I'd get Track Error message, but all is well now, thanks again.

P.S. I downloaded this track called gentrack1 and I have been hotlapping for over 2 hours, which felt like 30 minutes, really sweet track, can't wait to try the other 6 I downloaded.

For those of you who design liveries, is this something that can be done by anyone or is a special program needed or access from Kunos?

Anyone can make liveries. You'll need photo editing software (photoshop, gimp or paint.net are the most commonly used) to edit the files. Once you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy to make some rudimentary liveries. The high quality stuff obviously takes more time & effort.

The templates are located in X:\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\dev\skin_templates\

Here's a good guide to get you started - http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...to-skin-modding-painting-the-bailey-way.3951/

I recently downloaded Watkins Glen and to be honest I am not very impressed with it. The graphics are extremely basic and I can actually see the details being drawn as I drive the track. Another odd ball issue I am having is that the other cars disappear as soon as the race starts. I tried running with only 10 cars which is less than I usually do but I also get the CPU95% occupancy message. I also downloaded the F1 cars mod and have issues running them also. The car that I am driving seems as though it is going in slow motion even though the speedo is reading up 10 345 KPH on the front straight and what seems like normal speeds through the rest of the track. It is almost as though the pit lane limiter is on. Am I doing something wrong or are the mods not very good?

No. Just that some mods are crap, some are good some are wip and some are awesome.

IMO mods worth downloading are the Cobra, the Corvette C6r. Those two are pretty good right now.

Tracks wise, you can't miss this two IMO (they are not finished though!)

Lake Louise

22km of awesomeness. A truly beautiful mountain road, really nice combination of straights and technical bits, compressions and jumps. Especially when you have a mid - range card, then your FPS are going to take a major dump and it gets even worse when you use modded cars, but still everyone should give it a try. It's B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!

Its an awesome track alright.

Sadly, I tried it last night with the mk2 escort and I was watching a slideshow

EDIT: Has anyone heard anything about the Targa Florio track? It looks EPIC, I really wanna try it.

Beauty. Thanks for that mate.

Was too late : )

I recommend you the Assetto Corsa Mods page on facebook. Racedepartment is good too but they have a xxxx policy and therefor they dont upload or allow all mods to be shown there.

So far the Volvo Truck mod is the best. But i couldnt do a online race : ( There are only 4 servers with this car. 3 on snoopys nordschleife which i dont drive because i dont like it , and the other one gives an error while joining.

Volvo Truck + Vallelunga = Dream

Other people's work uploaded somewhere, plus illegal conversions from other games, great.

Yeh, I know theres some stolen ones, But there very badly ported etc. Its the same for like example Rigs of Rods. Vehicles stolen from Forza, Google Warehouse, But its very badly ported. :\

Its like no point to download them.

I LOVE this truck. in the Rift, the cockpit seems MASSIVE!.

it hangs out the ass end really well too. Its a blast to drive it up Transfagarasan.

My favourites so far are Salzburgring (video of a lap of it here) and Petersberg hillclimb.

Some corners on tracks like Yas Marina are missing key features so I can't really enjoy them. :indiff:
