On an unrelated note, it seems that the 'cars rejoining the race after teleporting to the pits' bug has now been fixed.
I've just got to work out how to get my sparks working as they used to.

I have to say thank you for the Download system in GTPlanet, it came at the right time and prevented me from having to have to use sharemods links and share them. I would win 2$ with sharemods, but instead have user having ads everywhere, or people sharing the sharemod link directly instead of the release post and people missing everything I wrote in the release page that would be interesting to read before downloading.

Although I do have one question, some people were asking me to share the mod in an alternative way because they couldn't download it from gtplanet because connection error midway (and they tried wifi, mobile hotspot etc). It's a very low amount of people who reported this, but it exist. Do you have any idea?
This has popped up once before, early in 2024, and it was a semi-local cause (as in at their end, but infrastructure, not ours), but I don't remember what it was exactly - only that it didn't last long. I'll see if I can dig it out.

Latest wips (2025/01)

and
GT4 Home & Garage (wip, Not a conversion)

The car name/country/year/type/mileage/date is created in lua script. Also, the Garage company logo is loaded from badge.png in the ui folder. So if you select another car, the information will be displayed for that car.
The NSX logo is a Track skin.

Love it! thanks. I just tweaked the camera angle a bit

I will be honest I don't like those archiving website neither, they are giving me more issues than anything. If it was made properly i wouldn't mind, but they split my 12 cars mod into separate cars, and don't provide the other stuff I bundled in the zip, like tyre texture, alternate physics etc etc. So in the end I get people asking me "yo tyre are not working and I don't find zip for tyres" "yo where are the alternate physics".

And they aren't monitoring anything so once they put a car in there, they don't update it. 2011 cars in their old website is a very old version and it irks me seeing people using old cars in some youtube video when I updated it
Unfortunatly, there is nothing you can do about it, therefore I would suggest there is nothing to worry about it. Might look a bit simple-minded said like that but it's the best solution on your end. You probably already copy-paste your own original link to anyone reporting a "problem", that's already kind of you as a "debug" thing. But I guess that's also biaised on my side because I only do cars as single package, and release it full ready (or very quickly updated if needed). I'm not really aware of the follow-up trouble.

I do appreciate and encourage the existence of those website, doesn't mean I like them specifically. Because I don't. AW is well organized on a car-to-car basis, but pretty bad in UI and not exactly download-friendly. ACTK is more straight forward, but clearly lacks on mod information and clean follow-up. They are both useful, but not well-made.

I just got horny...

Did the issue of the crash/kunos Porsche 991.2 GT3 R V1.0 only giving black screens in showroom as well as in-game come up before? I'd love to use it do replicate some IMSA races but right now it doesn't work.
I did a fresh install already, that did not change a thing

For me i would never use Gumroad, why should i switch? All i want is here, more easy and user friendly.

For what it is worth, I would prefer if you were using GT Planet download.
Gt Planet has been graciously hosting this amazing mod conversation for years and always has been a friend.
Going trough loops on a "patreon" site is not a better alternative, except if you have non revealed ulterior motive, GT Planet offer is a very good alternative.
but for guys that have a short fuse it's better to not use GTP download, because if they step on a moderators toes and their account gets sponged, all their content is gone as well.

But then again they seem to be wearing safety shoes nowadays!

Hello GTPlanet! Used to have an account on here about a decade ago, long lost the login on that one.

Some of you may know me already, for those who don't; I painted a couple of old race cars for AC over the past 4 years, right now the count is at roughly 2,000 liveries. If you've driven Bazza's excellent WSC packs, or Alguecool's incredible Piper GTR, you've likely seen some of my stuff!

Here's some content that will be released this year, Legion's Chevron B16 historical livery set:

And then there is the collaboration project with Alguecool, Nissan Fairlady 2000's, of which I will showcase more soon. He's done a fantastic job on the 3D models, importing.

Welcome back to GTP! I appreciate the liveries that you have done.

1.5 millions, and sure is ripped...! Before they asked for four or five bucks; I don't know how this AC modding thing is going to end... 😕

Rear wheel drive, 1000 kilograms, 700 hp and manual.

The original 993 doesn't have TC. I hope this one has.

It's exactly what the buying market wants. Analog, mechanical cars. That's why good examples of old MB 190's, BMW E30's and even Golf GTI:s and Peugeot 205 GTIs are hot in the classic market now. Those cars aren't fast by today's standars but buyers don't care. An electric Huyndai is probably faster. But hey, a skyscraper elevator is faster than a roller coaster... but which one gives you bigger thrill?

Generally cars are getting bigger and heavier all the time. And they feel like you're sitting in a laptop... sterile and boring. There is a huge demand for manual, analog cars. Why doesn't Porsche offer something like that... or Singer? Now good old air cooled 911's cost more than new. It's probably all the safety regulations and all that... I have no idea.

The Merc 190E is a timeless design, like the MkIV Supra. They still look as good today as they did when they were launched, and better than the models that replaced them. Classic sports cars excluded, not many production cars can make that boast.
The original Sierra Cosworth can probably be added to that list too.
Maybe it's all about the proportions. Get those right and the car will transcend time itself.
