Seen some people complain about Gumroad so as a modder who uses it (https://opperslang.gumroad.com/) I figured I give my reasoning.

My biggest reason is that I just wanted a single place where I could upload my work with some pics and details and have it neatly sorted. While I could use Patreon for this I think Gumroad does it a lot better and more clear. The thing is that Gumroad offers a lot of extra stuff that I can appreciate as a modder and a nerd as well. Not only does Gumroad keep track of all downloads, it also tracks where users are from (country) and where they were coming from (link source). While those things may seem useless to you as user, to me as a modder they can provide a lot of motivation. I purely make mods because I want to drive these cars and if other people can enjoy those too that is awesome. My back-end tells me there are quite a few people who download my mods which in turn makes me want to release more.

Some other things for me are simply the fact that I only need to upload my mods to a single place. When I update my mod I only need to update a single file which greatly reduces the chance for errors. The other things I like is the possibility of reviews, as someone who always reads reviews I think they are important.

Finally about emails and money. Like others have said, most mods in Gumroad are free, you can just input $0 everywhere. Sometimes a mod page input box can say "$1+" this DOES NOT MEAN you need to pay 1 or more, it is simply a suggestion put in by the mod author. The email address can be literally anything you want. You could just input test@test.com and it should be fine.

While as a UX Designer I agree that the extra steps are annoying, for me as a modder the easy access of payment is a real blessing. Of course I do this for fun and because I want to, that doesn't change the fact that I've spent hundreds maybe even thousands of hours doing this so if someone wants do donate me a beer I'd gladly accept it and it is very motivating!

I know there are a lot of greedy modders out there so it's always a bit hard to talk about monetization without coming across like one. I just hope people can understand that all my mods are free but a small donation means a lot. So if a Gumroad page motivates people to donate it only makes sense to make one, not because I do it for the money but it's nice to know people WANT to thank you. Just know that there still are a lot of modders that would never-ever lock anything behind a paywall even if they use Gumroad!

Sorry for the long post but I'd love to hear your guys opinion. Should modders all have a discord (requires account), a patreon (requires account), a facebook page (requires account)? Or should they be posted on sites like GTplanet or Overtake where copyright issues are bound to happen?
I agree with this

yeah y'all grandpa, discord is the futur

But discord is just a bunch of forum where we chat, different purpose than forums, we log in, go to a channel and we chat.

Whereas here you post something, change tab scroll somewhere, then come back when an answer is there
Haha, don't worry😄. I've seen so many trends and at some point, you will settle to a user interface you just think is perfect for you as well at some point.

Is it me or the Alfa DTM 95 has chromed stuff that should be black? Diffuser, stuff behind the wheels, etc?
You can see it everywhere, specially with all non-white skins, all sort of stuff that makes the car body "shine" compared to the Calibra and the Merc.

Here is Edmonton City Centre Airport Circuit 2011-2012 version

Download Link: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/downloads/edmonton-city-centre-airport.7044/

This was Converted by FerrariFanatic9 from Rfactor to Assetto Corsa. The original Track is from SRW.

The 2.256-mile, 13-turn circuit that incorporates a section of airport runway again will challenge drivers and provide lots of action for spectators. The 90-degree first turn is augmented by a pair of hairpins at the north and south ends of the course. There also are two long straights for drag racing. The layout was new for the July 2011 race. Edmonton City Centre Airport has played host to an Indy car race since 2005, with Scott Dixon, Will Power and Sebastien Bourdais winning twice.

It should be noted this has the skin for the League i run called Jimdycar. If you wish to have the normal advertisements then simply unclick the Jimdycar Skin.

Anyone recalling this track?
It was one of my favorites to race low powered rides. What is really needed is only to lowering the over bright lighting and getting rid of the disgusting 2d grass...
Took a quick stab at it. Nothing drastic. Just made some shader adjustments and added grass_fx. More to your liking?

Do you have a list of items that don't have a screen please? Very few KN5s are updated in the patch, so I'm curious. A screenshot of one would be useful too.

250 SWB LoDB missing glass is a known issue for a future patch (this interim patch is mainly focused on the THR 6 Hours cars).

Abarth-Simca has a new windscreen texture; with the old one, some combo of reflectionsFX settings made it flicker for some.
Something like this:

Could just be an extra super mega clean windshield ...

Hi. Mine wouldn’t work. So I deleted the original gadu boys cars then re downloaded them of there website. They have integrated there cars withe the WSC one. So both cars work fine. Standard and indurance.
Well this solved it. Should I delete the ac_legends_gtc_alfa_romeo_tz2 from the original pack?

Little blast from the past...

The old Alpine GTA V6 Europa Cup by Shokeus ACT80's was not casting proper shadows.

This simple extension fixes it.

GTplanet and this thread are survivors of the old net era, we're lucky to have this place alive and doing well. It's not the case for my weird other centers of interrest.

Sadly the closest you get from this old style forum is reddit, and there's a sub for basically every single niche. I use it a lot and find it extremely reliable for answering oddly specific questions, to the point where i strictly aim at reddit posts in my google searches. I would avoid at all costs the "popular section".

Discord i don't get it either, it's so messy, confusing, it bips, who's talking, where am i? i hate it with all my soul😆
Reddit is quite nice once debloated with Redlib.
