Little BTCC inspired skin for shin's excellent Pinevale conversion :

  • changed kerbs, walls and tyrewalls colour to blue (much nicer looking IMO)
  • added logos you could find on a BTCC track back then.

Easy enough but tedious, I'd rather spend 2 hours making a car skin than 30 mins doing basic ass stuff like this lol

(will still do the same to Seven Hills, such a cool track)

Thanks for making the skins for Pinevale!
Can I include it in a future update?
Seven Hills certainly is an excellent track, but are you seeing lots of AI carnage too? I'm getting plenty of cars going off toward the end of the lap, after the hump that leads into the sweeping right-hander, which is the second last corner before you come back onto the straight.
Have you tried v1.1?
I tested it on a kunos car and it no longer runs off course.

Almost done. I just need to work out some issues with the shadows (or lack thereof) on the bushes that I somehow messed up and cut some of the yellow tint. It's just a different look for an already great track. Maybe you like, maybe you don't.

Thanks shi, I'll double check and give that a try.

And by the way, thanks again for the stream of great track updates you keep bringing us. Very much appreciated!

P.S. Your ability to optimize textures is second to none. :cheers:

I already like it. The difference in the sandy areas (which always caught my eye) is huge. Looking forward to this one :cheers:

Have the latest CSP, CM and Pure installed, all working okay but when i watch replays i can watch so much then it freezes and i get an error:

Seems mainly when i have rain on

Error might have something to do with:

AC\replaymanager.cpp (536): ReplayManager::updateReplayRecorders
AC\replaymanager.cpp (428): ReplayManager::updatePlayState
AC\sim.cpp (1352): Sim::update
AC\game.cpp (112): Game::embarrassed:nIdle
AC\game.cpp (210): Game::run
AC\acs.cpp (477): wWinMain

00007FF8471F257D (KERNEL32): (filename not available): BaseThreadInitThunk
00007FF848C6AF08 (ntdll): (filename not available): RtlUserThreadStart

Anyone know what it might be, I've re-verified my files

i have got recent error logs if that helps anyone

Thanks

Jenga tower :)

What we can tell from the CSP log:
1. This is happening in CSP's core simulation and replay system.
2. It happened during replay handling, specifically when the game is trying to record/update the replay state.
3. This was happening right after multiple AI cars had retired and the game was likely trying to save their state information.

What you can try:
1. Always do: Temporarily disable all apps. If it fixes the issue, try re-enable 1 by 1.
2. Always do: Try exactly the same race with another car-set, to attempt to isolate the car-mod as cause.
3. Try disabling replay auto-saving in Settings | Content Manager | Replays | Replays Autosave
4. If this only happens (and consistently) with this specific F1 mod, might be worth reporting to the developer with this log.
5. Try manually deleting any existing replay files for this track/car combination

Good luck, fellow traveller :)

Today on overtake, a skin modder with his gigantic knowledge of physics wanted to tell everyone that I stole the physics from theraceproject.

I'm busted guys..... I Admit it, with 4 years in here I actually stole the physics from a patreon modder who have been here for a year. It's not like I have the resources to do it myself, or actually copy the physics from a better source.....

(The suspension geometry hasn't changed actually since the first version of the 2008 mod that was released in july 2023, meaning if it's the same, then it's theraceproject who copied me. And it honestly doesn't matter because the geometry comes from kunos)

For those of you that use triple monitors how do I get the apps to stay where I put them? I've made the pin red but if I exit the game a comeback in they are all piled in one corner.
Thanks

o boy, the Nissan Autech March 12-SR by MaidBoy ( found in ACTK garage ) is an immersive marvel!

Odd, I never had this issue (also triple screen setup)
Afaik they always stay where you placed and 'locked' them.

Does anyone have no tyre textures on track with Tommy78 Audi Quattro? or is it just me?. It appears fine in CM showroom but not on track for some reason.

tried a few things but nothing worked.

thanks

Fix for the WISE SPORTS Skins

To fix the broken (ui_skin.json) go to the skin folder that is located
"assettocorsa\content\cars\nissan_r32_jtcc\skins\27_wise_sports" and 28

open the "ui_skin.json" and change the last code line to look like this
"priority":0

I don't usually have problems either, but it has happened to me a couple of times where everything has been misconfigured and the apps have gone wherever they want... I don't know the reason, but I think it has always happened when installing a possibly fault mod or app...

I wonder if it has something to do with how one originally configures the triple screen setup. It's been 3 years since I did mine so I can't recall the ins and outs but I eventually settled on using an app called DisplayMagician, and have seldom had a problem since then.

The only problem I do still regularly have with my triple screen setup is caused by tracks that seem to be missing some critical element of code. It seems that tracks made by less skilled creators, particularly photo maps and a lot of touge, or free roam tracks, make all my app windows move up into the top left corner of the left screen. I am also unable access other windows apps normally available off to the right side of the right screen.

I can't see that there should be any connection between a track not having more than one pit box, or not having AI lines, but it does seem that tracks that are typically missing these features are always the tracks which cause most of my favourite pinned apps to move around, and some to be switched off completely, even when I open another good track thereafter.

If anyone has any ideas as to what needs to be added to these problem tracks it would be greatly appreciated. My workaround is to switch to an alternate desktop, like Desktop 4, whilst still on another track, before trying any new track I am suspicious of. This prevents the tedious process of rearranging my apps back to where I like them.

Popping up, as in radioactive swamp? I've been looking everywhere for a way to bring this mess back to its original dark green value. The only way seems to be bringing any form of ambient light in pure to a lower level, or adding more ambient occlusion.

@racinjoe013 have been doing an amazing job to bring the values back to a perfect level in his tracks edits but lately CSP has gone over the edge and it looks overbright again. @ClimaxF1 has done, again, some edits to overcome the new brightness as well, but i can see it's back to overexposed values as well in its edits (just tried Mugello to be sure, and it's not that bad, but it was PERFECT when it came out).

It's still very tricky. I guess there's some grassfx shader or material value value we could bring down thru an extension.ini file, but it could be nice to have a little control over it directly from CM.

Here's the config basics : https://github-wiki-see.page/m/ac-custom-shaders-patch/acc-extension-config/wiki/Tracks-–-Grass-FX

Personal opinion, we have to find a way to get the tracks to look good automatically. I've been trying to play Sergio Loro's old tracks lately with CSP 0.2.7 and they look terrible for some reason. I had to edit very specific values in the ppfilters to bring them back to a decent graphic level, but i remember playing them a few months ago and they looked pretty good.

My guess is either Pure or CSP has added plenty of shaders, glare options, lighting FX and playing old tracks with no CSP updates has become a lottery. Even new versions of super neutral ppfilters, the ones you can trust, like Natural Mod or Pure, cannot render them to their past glory. And it has been mentionned here multiple times, that it's a nightmare as well for creators and modders, as with each new iteration comes new challenges to overcome, edit and add for mods to work properly.

(i'm actually trying rn to make a vid on Sergio Loro's Watkin Glens 60s, with racinjoe's edits, and none of the 30 ppfilters i have, past and new, manage to render it properly. It's a nightmare.)

Edit : it's omething since csp 0.2.5 and beyond. Reversing to 0.2.4, everything looks absolutly glorious.
fixed in the latest CSP dev versions...

Ok, windows is fixed, motivation is back. I'm going to roll updates one by one. Starting with the very very very old 2007 mod

2.0 version brings you :
-Shaders, to make it up to standard
-Fixed mclaren leds not being alpha test
-Updated Ao on some cars
-Using the tyres from the 2008 mod to have better look
-2K textures for cars so that they don't look low resolution.
-blurred rims and glowing brakes

You are a wizard, truely revive tracks.
Have you ever considered gave to sergio all the work you made so he could include them directly ? Instead of having 2-3-4 differents version?
