EDIT: once copied over the files from smallblockhero´s car, it crashes due to the data.acd.

hi all,
probably y'all know this already but I just figured this out :)
to disable the default (virtual) starting lights
all you need to do is replace off.dds in content\textures with a dds file that is blank(totally transparent)...

(as most tracks now have actual starting lights incorporated, and the fake ones are breaking immersion for me)

download (includes a backup of the original in case you wanna reverse the change).

EDIT : for the Dodge Coronet Super Bee Hemi ,
it's quite nice , but internal chrome gives those unreal reflections ...
as a workaround I toned down the reflection of the chrome on interior.

I also did the following:
changed sound (didn't have external sound)
increased steering wheel ratio
fixed driver head being visible in 1st person view
fixed taillights and made brakelights more visible

DOWNLOAD (repacked car , original by Smallblockhero + updates by Didier Bestard + my fixes)

QUESTION to the guru's here:
the car apparantly doesn't colide on the red colider box (which we can change easily), but instead on this:

is there a way to change that one?

Also if anyone knows how to keep the chrome but not have it reflect curbs etc.(as they are not supposed to be reflecting on the inside of the car) ?

Lastly , if someone can make the CSP wipers and rainfx work, then this is a mighty fine vintage muscle car mod for AC imho.

EDIT2: I also added smoke, and crew colors to the skins (and I had to make the purple skin a chameleon one with my face ofcourse :lol: ) But that will be for v0.9 when I get the working wipers and rainfx from someone to incorporate :)
Also if anyone can pass a fix for the collider, I will incorporate that and share it as a v1.0 at that time
(after which ACTK can post it as v1.0.1 in his garage with added LODS and cockpitHR for all to enjoy)

Well its an opinion, a pathetic one IMO though. We've been destroying trees since Neanderthals first ripped them down to make fires and shelters. It didn't start with AI....
We are a destructive species and it will never change, the damage to the planet from EV production is shocking considering people drive around in them like they are planet saviours....

If managed properly, you can't really destroy a tree. It will grow back up and be even better than the one you cut down. It's basically an infinitely renewable resource. Not even AI-driven.

Even fossil fuel is theoretically renewable, only it takes so many millions of years to replenish, that we short sighted humans aren't able to manage it properly, we're overspending. Bigtime. An AI, on the other hand...

We're somewhat limited by the way the starting light overlay is illuminated, but I went in a different direction a few years ago and swapped in a different traffic light texture, and made the start lights larger.
(The curvature is due to capturing the image in my VR headset)

then you should go and have a look, because he's already made all the corrections. :D
 
Hi guys, a question, does anyone know why I had put a package to run with traffic, where I also had trucks, and now I always find myself only with BMW and Alfa?

It's not the first time it happens to me..

Is there a package already complete made by someone, to have a more varied traffic? Or are they just paid mods?

Checked ACTK update on updated Dodge SuperBee. It could be an ideal version, but it isn't.
He did fine job updating lods, wipers and colliders, but for some reason car was again left with old nasty physics (tires, engine, suspension).
When i put AW physics update data on his version it breaks mirrors, lods, colliders and maybe something else.

So now that we have ton of RSS GT3 cars, I feel like this is more of a problem(for me anyway) than before....

RSS cars for me still keep getting that "frozen wheels" when in photo mode, regardless what shutter speed you use. There is a work around that if you use cumulative blur mode instead of just shooting at a set shutter speed you can get it to blur, but only up to some point and it doesn't work all the time.

This is specifically only with RSS cars, I've not had this issue at all with any other mod. I don't know what makes them different. But its only been them for me. Is this an issue for anyone else, and if anyone has had any solution for them?

Love his tracks!!!

Sadly not - this project did look fascinating so I hope something comes of it one day. Maybe one of the many studios out there snapped him up, because he did much better, more realistic fantasy tracks than a lot of other games ship with IMO.

But i guess that's how ACTK makes its releases so fast, no testing done.
Absolutely THE LAST one to defend him, but he made changes to lods, collider, cockpit_hr that needed updates to the ini files in data.acd. They're not broken, they're just updated past your version, for the improvements he made. Easy (lolz) to copy his versions back into your data and have the best of both.

Sounds stupidly but how do you get those PCVR screenshots and videos? If I try to make a screenshot or a video it’s based on the monitor and not from the VR headset’s screen

It's just a normal F8 screenshot. Maybe it works in the headset because I'm forced to use Windowed mode in VR? If I try fullscreen mode now, CM just shuts down when exiting a session (or it used to - maybe that's been fixed now?)

you have summarized the situation well, apparently Pilot3331 must not know much about modifying data.acd files to say such nonsense. :boggled:
