Oh, in that case, I don't have a clue, the only team further down than that that I follow is my very local team, Basingstoke Town.

Digging out an atlas would be more useful.

General knowledge of UK places is going to help rather than thinking of teams.

Or clicking on the smiley I posted...

Though I suppose that qualifies as me giving the answer, but hey.

I'm gonna go out on a massive limb and say Corsham or Chippenham.

EDIT: Of course it would have helped if I'd realised neither of these are cities. :dunce:

*belm*

Durham.

Hur. Last point goes to Famine. Durham City were in the league between 1921 and 1929.

With six correct answers, it's @MildAshers ' turn to ask again.

By the way chaps, if it's your turn to ask a question, you are allowed to pass it up and let someone else ask. Just wanted to let that be known. I have 8 questions on my notepad which we haven't had yet...

Go for it Liquid, my imagination for questions is rubbish.

Okay;

Just one player from Britain has played for four teams who have won the European Cup without winning the trophy himself.

Who is he?

There is one bonus point for getting all four clubs.

Ballack??

Chelsea, Bayern, Leverkusen...err...don't think he played for a fourth!

As far as I'm aware, nobody from outside Britain has done so, but bear in mind that even with the Ballack answer, Leverkusen have not won the Champions League.

The player must have played for four teams who have won the European Cup/Champions League at any point in history but the player himself has not.

Ronaldo is the most famous never to have done it.

Dean Saunders however is the answer, Aston Villa, Notts Forest, Liverpool and Benfica.

Ah, he's good.

Dean Saunders played for Liverpool 1991-92, Aston Villa 1992-95, Nottingham Forest 1996-97 and Benfica 1998-99 and given those timeframes, obviously never won the trophy with those teams.

:) You can take up the role of question master once more Liquid.

What was a mandatory part of a referee's uniform until the 1930s?

Something which would be considered almost laughable these days.

Ha, no. We've had glasses and pipe, the item I'm thinking of is ever so slightly further south than the head.
