It's cool that it can be driven on the road, but I'm not sure the balance of usability is right. I think it would be a more interesting proposition if it was a bit more refined - at least not requiring the use of headphones which is pretty over the top.

We've got sedans for that. I don't see the point of these car if they're not hyper focused track machines, 300 HP is all you need to enjoy the road.

They're probably going to have to ugly it up quite a bit to meet the drag restrictions of LMH.
 
So...
-Valkyrie AMR Pro (yellow prototype) 2019s was the Newey vision.
-Aston's canceled LM prototype, become the production AMR Pro because they cannot make the yellow car without more money AND Adrian.
-Adrian started the RB17 to kill the production Valkyrie AMR Pro.
-Aston now apply BoP to the AMR Pro and will be ready for LM.
-Verstappen hints that "[about his decision to race LM sometime] ... maybe with the RB17, who knows"
 
They've committed to Le Mans in 2025...I'd have expected to see some testing footage of the car by now. Sounds like their hybrid system functions a lot like IMSA GTP cars...I'm curious if they'll do some weird combination of regs, like use the GTP hybrid system while entering the car under LMH regulations.

I'm gonna assume with Aston themselves not capable of producing a Hybrid, they simply just went to Bosch for that IMSA unit since that was the cheapest option. I don't even think Aston Martin (Or Prodrive, assuming they are working with them again) has ANY ability to produce a Hybrid Unit whether in a separate department or not.

But then again...weren't they slated to NOT run a Hybrid at all?

I believe that was the original plan but the Valkyrie AMR has been a GTP-style hybrid since it debuted. With the energy requirements in both series it's almost impossible to not run a hybrid due to lack of efficiency. See Vanwall, Glickenhaus, and now Isotta Fraschini. Hell, the Porsche today ran the entire cooldown lap after Hyperpole at low speed in EV mode because was out of fuel (and it's weight) but still had energy to spare.

From my understanding, the LMH car doesn't share too many parts with the road car. It uses the same engine, albeit detuned, but the chassis is completely different and the entire front wing and floor are bespoke to the race car too

Im not sure that many details have been release but I would expect there to be huge differences, mostly for serviceability and durability. Dimensions and many bodywork pieces appear to at least look the same, but again probably redesigned for easier maintenance. The front pontoons and example, and the rear diffuser. Basically all the internals have probably been redesigned for quick maintenance. Basically, it’s no more a road car than a GT3 car is.
