I guess it depends on the engine swap. My Evo IV with original Motor works pretty well (but is slower).

A different question as I am obviously still a tuning noob: does the ceramic Brake change anything besides the look? I tried but felt no difference and it doesn't affect the PP either.

As am aware No difference or at least what o saw on some previous vids that test them.
And IF they had any , probably isn't for earth residents 🤣 plus the pp calculator will change by putting them on but isn't happening.

Is the Evo 8 the best of the Evos?
From the ones I've tested, it is.

No clue. I usually buy the cheaper race ones instead of carbon.

Guys am done .
Best " complete " feeling car for me was the EVO group B road car .
Faster " Gimmick" car ( due to short gearbox ) the EVO 04 swapped .
Lap shared for everyone as #ataq from smoothbore 12 .

After seeing my lap you will reveal and my " secret " drive thing 😂 and since you're all ( i guess )better than me ,am putting you all Infront of the doors of 51's 😁

Of course you can't race this car but searching the ultimate lap time with is is doable is you manage tha way it reacts .

Happy to bust the virginity of lap posting at least 🤣

Well, i still like the idea but it seems i lack the skill to tune and the time to try out things.

I had one mid 54 time in an '04 Impreza and that's it.

I'll still be around and post at least one time in one car per challenge.

I lack skills of tuning also.
I just made changes to fit my style or what i believe i need " more " .

Here you need more torque without spinning around , top speed isn't what you want and if you see my lap you will understand what i mean .........am ONLY on 6th gear 🤣 .

Throwing in the towel so soon? Once you drop below 52, the tenths somehow still keep dropping... gonna go for a few more stints before posting my final time.

Did some tweaks to the Evo setup and tbh although this thing moves, I was never really a fan of point and shoot missile tunes. If anyone wants to use this, you're welcome to (but don't go sub 51 plz ;D).

I don't have the courage to go on further plus the skills to achieve it .
What's left finally is the pleasure that i make you " moove " and bring you in front of the 51's door 😁 and now you're one floor down 🤣.

I might regret this post very soon but there is time left to do some FWD and RWD times... Still haven't seen your vid but this is an awesome laptime! Congrats to that and to the Balls to publish early! 💪 I am more than 2 Seconds away right now... @KAlex122 : don't let me alone with these monsters, please!

After a closer look at the screenshot:
How on earth is it possible to have only 670 PP with 1250HP on a car that weighs 1197 kg (and RM tires)???

I know it is an engine swap. But is that a bug in the PP calculation?
For future TTs i vote to ban engine swaps like NOS. Otherwise this becomes a chalange like 'who has the biggest unused engine in the garage'.

Nonetheless here's the actual stand of my search for speed in Tsukuba by classic tuning:

1st car was a Porsche Cayman GT4. Sadly, after adding RM tires, suspension, shedding weight and a gearbox, there wasn't much room do improve the powertrain. The Cayman is a dream to drive, but not very fast around this track. After a 55,971 i didn't saw much room to improve.

2nd car was a Ford Focus RS. Same way of tuning like the Cayman. Because of the AWD i did a 55,415, but it's not so nice to drive like the Cayman. And i don't see the potential to go sub 55 with me at the wheel.

3rd and current car is the Toyota Yaris 1st Edition RZ "High Performance"
That thing was a big surprise, not so much because of the speed, but the fun it was to drive! Sideways thru every turn an still beating the Cayman! I did lots of laps just for the joy of it - it felt like a tarmac rally stage.
In case someone wants to try it out, i'll share the setup i've used.
To get it faster around the lap i'm currently fine tuning the suspension, although i'm not a specialist for that. 55,319 is my best so far. I hope to get it under 55.

The Cayman is a surprising choice looking at your alias... 🤣 I did also test it, like it but went on. Might have a chance in RWD section.

There is a Motor Swap available for the Focus. Just saying... We will do a poll in this theme for round 2. Right now it is astonishing what you can achieve by trying every Tuning option. At Tsukuba you might try a short gearing for example.

Thanks for sharing your Setup!

Nice times.

The short transmission limits the top speed, which equates in lower performace points due to the way the PP is being calculated - the car is sent around an invisible test track to measure how fast it will get around while measuring all the performace stats. Lowering the top speed will result in lower PP. A while back, suspension parameters and gearing were also accounted, but this left the PP system very open for manipulation and abuse until this was changed in an update (RIP Tomahawk).

I don't think the engine swaps should be outright banned as the short transmission causes this exploit and not the swap itself. Maybe mandatory race transmission and a seperate "open" class where everything except nitrous is allowed would be a way to handle this?

Glitched tunes suck in online competition - you either jump on the bandwagon and use the meta or are left in the dust. In my opinion, this example falls into a grey area and may deserve an own class, as this hunt for the next best glitchable tune does somewamhat kill variety of the "regular" cars, but still the idea of exploring a ruleset and exploring what's possible without many limitations (if any) remains.

@Gorefast poll sounds like a great idea.

Besides this theme I have seen that you did what you do. Amazing! Is it visible for all or Fans... ähm Friends only?

So you're looking for a TT with different classes?
Definitely possible, but wouldn't that require a pretty difficult rules and regulations book?! And a lot of / or at least more work for the organizer?

Another way that wasn't mentioned so far: One of us (preferably someone who knows what he does) sets up a car (might be choosen by a vote or by that https://gtplus.app/gt7/race-roulette) that everybody uses. So it would be just about the fastest driver.

I thought this was already divided into AWD, RWD and FWD with the only restrictions being Medium Slicks and max 670 PP. Adding a mandatory racing transmission for these would solve the top speed exploit but having another class on top could be too much. Personally, I' d prefer it as simple and open as possible.

I guess it's up to @Gorefast and the community how this will develop. This first run is a great way to explore the ruleset and gather some insights of everyone participating.

Different classes might be a solution but so far there aren't too many participants to justify that work. But I know that there are people in this thread who made up already their mind about organizing time trials. So we will see...

Using one prepared car is what the official time trials do and wouldn't add something different in my opinion. As I tested the settings by @smoothbore12 I can state that it doesn't fit my driving and I went back to what I did before (except of the short Transmission...). So a fixed Setup might help some and might hinder some.

Have a nice easter week everyone!

I see your point.

What about a given car each one can setup as he likes? With as little restrictions as nessecary?

At the moment it feels to me, like i'm more on the set up page than on the track. But i'd prefer it the other way round.
