ATCC SUPPORT SERIES | GRASS-ROOTS CHALLENGE | ROUND 1 DRIVER'S BRIEFING

Welcome to the first driver's briefing for the ATCC Support series, the Grass-Roots Challenge. This mini-series comprises of 7 rounds and utilises the Gran Turismo Racing Kart 125 Shifter.

Estimated Race Schedule
21:00 GMT+10 ~ Room Opens
21:10 GMT+10 ~ Race 1 Begins (10 Laps)
21:20 GMT+10 ~ Race 1 Concludes
21:25 GMT+10 ~ Race 2 Begins (12 Laps)
21:38 GMT+10 ~ Race 2 Concludes
21:45 GMT+10 ~ Round Concludes

Grid
The grid will be randomised for the first race, then for the second it will be reversed based on Race 1's results.

Contact
Contact is inevitable. Any intentional contact that hinders a driver's progress will be penalised harshly. So, when passing, be sure to observe the 3-quarter kart rule.

Tuning
Tuning is allowed and is encouraged throughout the season.

Track Limits
Track limits will be monitored throughout the races. The ruling for track limits is the same as the main-game.

There isn't any more to cover unfortunately, so I hope we can see as many people as possible attend the round and get the support series off on the right foot! :)👍

@NW48 I never actually thought of a name :lol:. I suppose Galaxy Racing sounds kinda nice. Simple, catchy and it really means something to me.

I'm out again this round, but next weekend is looking hopeful. Between friends deciding to randomly drop by and my change in work conditions I'm sort of playing it by ear week to week. Have fun and good luck my fellow racers :cheers:

There won't ever be a Safety Car for Grass-Roots as it's just an all out sprint showcase but as for the main game round at Mid-Field, I have no idea. I haven't even received a friend request from the Wavey so I can invite him to the club, and I haven't heard from him in a week, so I guess it would be best to look elsewhere for another Safety Car.

Welcome everyone back to the ATCC, the best touring car series based in Australia!! Round 3 comes to you from a returning favourite from GT's past, Mid-Field Raceway. A return to the full field of 16 is expected with yet again a reduced field for Group B. The racing is guaranteed to be close with our resident self-proclaimed Ted Kravitz (@Mikey24) predicting a close race.

21:50 GMT+10 ~ Room Opens
21:55 GMT+10 ~ Cars Allowed On Track
22:10 GMT+10 ~ All Cars To Pitlane
22:11 GMT+10 ~ Tech Inspection
22:15 GMT+10 ~ Manual Gridding Process
22:20 GMT+10 ~ Race 1 Begins (20 Laps // 1 Mandatory Pitstop)
23:00 GMT+10 ~ Race 1 Concludes
23:07 GMT+10 ~ Race 2 Begins (20 Laps // 1 Mandatory Pitstop)
23:50 GMT+10 ~ Race 2 Concludes
00:15 GMT+10 ~ Time Certainty Finish // Room Closes


Pre-Q Reminder
Just a reminder that if you haven't completed a minimum of 1 Pre-Q session, you will be forced to start at the rear-of-field. The Pre-Q events will finish 25mins earlier than usual.

Group A & Group B Passing
Last week we had little to no issues with this, but to keep it fresh in our minds, here is a reminder;

- If a Group A car approaches a Group B car, it is the responsibility of the Group A car to pass safely, however, if it is safe to do so, the Group B car should yield off the racing line safely.

Pit Lane Entry/Exit Lines
We are again at a track that has these lines, it is important to acknowledge these lines. Failure to do so will result in a 'Dangerous Driving' penalty.

Safety Car
The Saftey Car will be used as per usual, providing that we do have a Safety Car driver to begin with.

Use of Text Chat
Use of Text Chat will be strictly forbidden throughout the entire round, unless asking a question to ONLY @NW48 or giving a simple Good Luck/Race. Any other communication must be done via PSN PM. Failure to follow this may result in disciplinary action.

Recovery Time
There will be a maximum of 10mins recovery time (Disconnection/Rejoining waiting time) before a race, this time will begin once two or more people DC from the room. Once the time is up or all the problems are resolved, the race will start, no matter what.


I hope to see a full grid at Mid-Field for Round 3, a round that could shape that could change the shape of the championship. Lets hope for the same quality of racing we had at Indy and the same size grid we had at Tokyo!

I'm eagerly awaiting the main game! The crew of UNC Motorsports all chilling pre-event start, in the back of the transporter. I may come into the grass roots at some point to watch :).

Managed to pull an alright time out for Qualifying ;) quite happy although it's such a precise lap for the 4wd, will have to be very consistent to stay with those Corvettes and Mustang. It's gonna be some close racing I'm sure.

Well done to just knock me off nw, 9 flat is also very nice, 9.2 was my fastest ever so called it there for my sessions.

Is a little shame to see a smaller grid but understandable people have lives :). It'll still be good, everyone is quite close within groups, tyre wear will play a role in the game.

I'll try to make the start of the 2nd grass roots race if that'll be allowed, run to your schedule still though don't have to wait on me. Have fun everyone!

Don't leave due to PD's frankly pathetic servers. I, for one, want you to stay. I know for a fact you bring the best out in me, when I was chasing you for third, just before you lagged out and disconnected, I was running my fastest times around Mid-Field, consistent 1.08.9's, something I couldn't match the rest of the race/s. Everyone still wants you here, bad connection and all, as you are an extremely fast and fair racer.
