Cool, thanks greasy - i'm at Warnervale - (near Toukley) - but I can get to Gosford no dramas . . . do you reckon they carry the mounting bracket? Or can I get them from EB Games or something . . . thanks for the reply and the help guys! Cheers Phil

You must live so close to their server for that ping.

Here is mine. Pretty much maxed out for ADSL.

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3648504297

But the bandwidth test is pretty useless to judge online gaming quality. Anyone on a normal adsl connection will easily have enough bandwidth. This is the test we need to take:

http://www.pingtest.net/

Please run this test right before the race and post the results (its important you do this right before the race so the network conditions are the same). Ping times are EVERYTHING in online gaming. Any packet loss is not acceptable (will cause bad lag), some jitter is ok but not much. Everyone will get different ping times on this test as we all live in different locations and will get different servers selected, but the jitter and packet loss as well as a high ping can sniff out bad connections which will cause issues.

Well honestly there could be a lot of causes. Your actual PS3 connection might be fine (though sometimes your connection reports zero bars and people can't connect, there is some sort of issue some of the time), the problem with the ping test might be a windows firewall problem unrelated to the PS3 but it likely means that UPnP is not working or not turned on. Do you already have your PS3 in a DMZ? That is really all you can do short of upgrading your router which is an extreme step not guaranteed to actually fix the problem (as many routers on the market are crap). It would also be useful to turn on UPnP or make sure its turned on in your router config.

Good little test run last night I need too find about 2 seconds and I'll be happy with it going to be a battle if slower around the start and sweeping fast 1st sector of corners brave to pass there and the last chicane is a battle to spot and out of the under pass next left will be trouble. More testing today cheers Phil.b

I wish this was not tonight. I am exhausted. But I love Suzuka, I want to win here. 2 hours away... Got to wake up somehow.

Hi All, interesting race last night . . . i've found that when I back off rather than "have a go" at a pass I tend to screw it up and send myself off track . . . happened to me twice last night - just a couple of laps in and then a bit later on in the race . . .???? Ah well . . . more practise required - but on the upside . . . I got a PB!!! Not sure on my tyre usage though . . .may have used an extra set of Mediums' after damage?? Not sure . . . ah well . . .having fun and learning . . . Cheers All

Great race last night still not up to nas pace but keen for monza with no weather not ready yet I got up to 3rd and in shock had a off good clean race and no drop outs had plenty open track all night so no need to look behind.cheers Phil.b

I had an interesting start. I am still not sure exactly what I did but I think initially I miss counted the blinks on my wheel LED and thought my wheel was over sensitive. So for the first few turns I was trying to hold the buttons down to readjust the settings but when I did my wheel became way too sloppy, made it really hard to turn. I lost a lot of time trying to drive one handed and change the settings, eventually I just pulled over at the spoon curve and got the wheel right. All up I lost 25 seconds on lap 1.

After that though I had a decent race, probably better than if I was leading. I am always much faster if I am losing so I didn't really mind losing the time. I only had a few moments where I made mistakes, once I swung out too far trying to get the perfect line into a turn and dipped a wheel on the grass causing me to take a trip into the grass, other times i went a little wide here and there but nothing major, no wall hits just losses of time. My real problems began late in the race. The first time I came up behind vendalism to lap I could not get past for a while then all of a sudden he lagged and smashed into my car quite hard. Bizarrely though I got zero damage from it, just lost a lot of ground. I caught up again, by this time vendalism had passed.. either dbn or fullgas, I can't remember which and they were still close together. I came up behind both of them and I am not sure who it was but one of their cars jumped out at me, this time giving me full reds on the front wheels and a red engine.

That really annoyed me as I was already annoyed about being stuck behind lapped cars plus the first lag hit. I did some amazing anger fueled laps after that to make up the ground and finally pass. I wish I could drive like that at will. The last lap was a bit dicey through. On my last stop for damage the screen overlay wanted to give me 2 liters of fuel. Just by habit I set it to zero. Only after I confirmed I remembered that I was going to the end. On the final lap I just coasted down the straights and through the turns, just using power for the hills.

Overall fun race :)

Gents,

I would like to apologize for my lag last night as I was unaware I had issues as I have all the possible PS3/router/ port forwarding settings enabled.I could not see the name of the drivers who were approaching from behind last night till the cars were right on my back side.Once I saw the driver behind me was not a threat for my position I did move aside, but it took a while before I could see the name of the driver as I my self was a victim of this too.

My summary of my last 2 races :

The below information is especially for a specific Driver, but also a good reminder to the rest of us...

Blue flag

This flag encourages a driver to move aside to allow faster traffic to pass.
A light blue flag, sometimes with a diagonal yellow, orange, or red stripe, informs a driver that a faster car is approaching and that the driver should move aside to allow one or more faster cars to pass. During a race, this would usually only be shown to a driver getting lapped, but during practice or qualifying it could be shown to any driver. In most series, the blue flag is not mandatory—drivers obey it only as a courtesy to their fellow racers. As such, it is often referred to as the "Courtesy Flag." In other series, drivers get severely penalized for not yielding or for interfering with the leaders, including getting sent to the pits for the rest of the race. In Formula One, if the driver about to be lapped ignores three waved blue flags in a row, he is required to make a drive-through penalty. The blue flag may also be used to warn a driver that another car on the same lap is going to attempt to overtake them.

Hey ven I think my replay is wrong mines has you doing s,s,s,m,m

Mmm think it's my replay according to mine half the field had tyre infringements

There has been a pit stop bug since the release of gt6 and one is that the replay of pit stops and compounds used can vary between each persons replay.

I used s,m,m,m,h

I have checked Greasey's and he has run with medium compound the entire race and Dbn has done the same but with the soft compound.

Can I ask that we all check the replay and report our findings ? It's as if we have nothing better to do then check on another of the games poor bugs.I can not believe we have all paid money for a game that has so many bugs in it it's not funny....

All gt6 players across the globe should start a class action against PD for selling a unfinished product and charging the customer full price ,not to mention the sheer frustration and waste of time for all...

STICH UP !

yeah I hear ya vend. Be hard to determine who's used what and to dish out pens. Could go all out no restrictions still skill involved keeping rubber on any tyre. But I'm easy . I went h, m, s,s

Thoroughly enjoyed that race, gave it a stab for the win on strategy but came up just short on fuel, had to ease off 6 laps from home, but certainly not dissappointed, was a bit of a case like Alonso in Hungary, made my bed,had to lie in it,but on reflection i would have been in the same pos had i pitted or not,so was worth it going for the win that way,i just didn't have the outright speed.pity i lost 15secs odd on lap 2 after waiting for traffic after running wide at 130R!

They should have called this game GT5 Epilogue and released GT6 on PS4. The PS3 is past its used by date, we need a next gen racing sim already!
