AU Playstation mag confirms Holden, Ford

Valiant Charger E38, E49
Ford Falcon XY Phase III, IV
Holden Torana X-U1, A9X

These classic Australian muscle cars should be a part of the GT family, just as the Etype Jag, Dodge callenger and Toyota'sGT2000.
There are others and they have their own heritage too, that's why they made the list.

Sigh the bogan-ness. I really dislike the Holden vs Ford culture.

If you don't like it then why post in this thread? Troll much?

Not to mention that's offensive stereotyping to many many people, you're asking for a flaming.

That's a bit stereotypical isn't it? I haven't seen anyone start the Holden vs Ford debate here. I am a big V8 fan, whether it be the Supercars or factory road cars, but I don't bag out Fords and I don't bag out Holdens, they are both fantastic. Generally I prefer the Holdens, but I would own both. I also am not guilty of being a V8 bogan nut either, as I also have an extensive collection of Best Motoring International DVDs, which mainly feature Japanese turbo and tuned N/A vehicles such as S2000s, Skylines, 350Zs, Integras and the like. I used to own a Toyota Celica GT-R, and I loved that car.

I know there is a massive amount of people that do mindlessly follow a badge no matter what the vehicle / competition but I don't think anyone here has been guilty of that, thank god. I have no respect for the opinion of those types, and on any of the videos I upload on the net of V8 Supercars I get those idiots on there but you just learn to delete the comments :) . I think most people here are, like me, genuine car nuts who like all forms of motorsport, and all kinds of cars based on their individual merits.

I love all cars mostly, except a very small handful, I just happen to be very passionate about Holdens since they're my favourites. I certainly won't bag out Ford road cars, they're quite awesome and I'm salivating over the thought of the alloy block 5.0L coming some time next year to the Falcon range. I really like a lot of Japanese sports cars, love American cars and really like lots of European cars too. British cars are awesome too, Jags, TVRs, and, mental blank!

I don't know where I was going with this post.

I just wish that they handle better than what they did in GT4..

They handled pretty well didn't they? The Monaro slammed the Mustangs and Camaros on handling if I recall, and played fairly with most Japanese and European models. The VY SS's sounds were way off though as Heath said, and sports exhausts, :yuck:.

LOL Only milk and juice comes in 2 litres mate!!

Sorry for whoring the thread, back to topic now.

And my honda prelude haha.
Nah I'm not a fan of Rice Cookers either.

Holdens and Fords are good cars. And I don't troll fellow Aussies.
I guess when I think of GT5 I don't think bathurst. I think Nurbergring, Suzuka, Monza, Monte Carlo and Laguna Seca etc.
If you understand what I mean not trying to start a flame war or anything (I just came from the Flashpoint 2 forums I've had enough of that lol).

I also remember they handled quite well in GT4, great cars to drive on Nurburgring, infact I made a Nurburgring Time Attack Monster out of a Monaro.

The Monaro in GT4 was fairly realistic, it's just a shame that it was trodden on by Supras and 350Zs.

And it wasn't a whole lot quicker than a 295hp '05 Mustang.

Hopefully they'll get the sound right, the SS sounded like a right wheezer, the Monaro only marginally better. All induction noise and nothing else.

I sincerely hope that the W427 is included, I want FPV to ditch the GT and give us the GT-P and I'd be a happy man if there were some HK GTS's and the "must have" XY GTHO Phase III.

Australia has a great motoring history behind it, what we've got here you don't really get anywhere else in the world. I hope Kazunori and the PD team realise this...

;)

yeah the Monaro was realisitc. the sound from the Monaro was spot on. but i just cant understand why they SS sounded different

Would have been a better post than your first one.:)

;)

I wouldn't say that either, IIRC the Monaro was roughly even with a 350Z and only marginally slower than a Supra. I don't know how they'd compare for real.

Yeah, the same engine and exhaust note in real life, how'd they get so different in game?

and then theres the aweful sound they make (and this is the FPV GT aswell) when you upgrade the exhaust system. I really hope they've fixed that issue up for GT5. I want it to sound like dad's Statesman, lean, mean, healthy, clear, deep V8 note.

I believe the Monaro's exhaust was deeper than the SS - the two exhausts are different on each car, but not by much, most of it due to length and design.

In game, the Monaro was easily at least a second slower than the 350Z on most tracks, using realistic tyres (N2). The Supra was miles quicker than both, Toyota's last RZ was a stonker of a car.

There have been plenty of comparos with the Munro versus the 350Z and just as it is ingame, the 350Z outhandles the CV8, but can't match it on grunt. Trackwise, the 350Z usually tended to get the thumbs up from the journos as the better car.
