IMSA race track(s) already been worked upon before officially announcing partnership (as sign of permanency at least for GT7 alone)
=/= So why'd SONY/PD waste additional budget if IMSA can suddenly call it quits at any time (i.e. Top Gear, NASCAR....FIA)

Anyways.

Long awaited GT2-content, it is!

Although some IMSA tracks are owned by the same parent company. Their inclusion is completely unrelated to any licensing for those particular tracks. Same goes for the FIA. Tracks are independently owned & licensed.

ACO own the Circuit de la Sarthe and can licence this out independently of the Le Mans & WEC licenses.

Question for the fellow americans here:
What does IMSA have to do with WeatherTech?
There's a lot tracks under weather tech in the insa site.
If imsa is in a partnership with PD, thats awsome, looking at the tracks they have there and prospect of them coming to gt7

Well if it was different studio than PD then yes...

But this is PD... I will just remind you that PD has exclusive license for Pikes Peak for some years now, and we still didn't get track ;)

True. PD can licence out individual tracks without needing a approval from current partnering/sponsoring sanctioning body.. sum *****, unless they're owners of certain tracks.

@Doncarlone - I say save the GRAND of All Originals till Christmas!

True. But if PD went into a partnership with imsa, they gonna have to eventually put some of imsa's track in game. Even if it is just to promote imsa.
We already have laguna seca and watkins glen in game. Just look at the rest of the options:

Indianapolis
Lime rock
Long beach street
Road atlanta
Road america
Sebring
Virginia internacional
Belle isle park
Mid-Ohio sports
Detroit street.

We already have road atlanta on the gt7 leaks. Even if its not coming this next update, its almost certain it will in the next months.

Sebring and Long Beach are tracks I'd like to see in GT7.

We Get NO new cirucuit for this update. Otherwise it most certainly would be used as the race we all thought.
We’ll have to see. But there are two TBA events (last time I looked) for September 2nd & 17th.

The August 28th GR Cup was previously TBA. Maybe this was planned with a new track. But the tight timeline between update & event led PD to choose something else.

WeatherTech is the entitlement sponsor of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as well as the sub-series IMSA WeatherTech Sprint Cup for the GTD drivers at select, shorter races.

As others have pointed out, IMSA doesn't own any of the tracks they race on. However, their parent, NASCAR, does, through its ownership of International Speedway Corporation. Both of the tracks IMSA runs on that NASCAR/ISC owns (or in the case of Daytona, manages) are already in the game - Daytona and Watkins Glen.

What I want and I think majority of others want too we won’t get.
Likely:
online lobbies to be more stable,
new track or maybe a new layout of an existing track (I hope Bugatti Circuit at Le Mans) and 3 new cars.
Rest of the update will be minor glitches and the improvements to the new bop rating system

What I want:
cars post 2020. So poor that a new game doesn’t have any cars post 2020 (apart from the odd few). Also new/current GT3 cars.
More track (Sepang, Bugatti Circuit, Silverstone, Long Beach, Maccu).
Custom Races lobby to have more features - mandatory pit stops/tyre requirements. AI difficulty slider. On professional I find the AI still too poor, amd too slow in some corners
More missions & license missions - longer endurance races, more verity of group car races
Online Sport - ditch the TT and have either 1/2 lap shoot outs or 5-10 mins quali on Daily C. Include dynamic weather or even just include some weather (wet races). More strategy races. MR cars to improve on Gr3. 4WD cars to be pegged back a little on Gr4. And Daily D that is a 1 hour race. Daily E that changes every 2/3 days. Time Attack to change after 5 days.
Love to add more but could be hear all day.

The first new time trial after August 25th is for Gr. 2 cars. Following on from the trend of the Escudo and Silhouette time trials, perhaps one of the cars next update will be a Gr. 2 machine.

Probably the Porsche 911 GT1 Le Mans, to finish the GT1 Trinity. (CLK LM, McLaren Long Tail, Porsche GT1)
P.S. ik the Strassenversion is the game but the race one isn't

Which both aren't in the files yet and according to @Nenkai are therefore not being worked on or in a too advanced stadium at least. Are other cars from the leaked list which could possibly go into Gr. 2? We will see.

BMW M4 is already in the game , unless you want that Angry pig nose one then you will wait quite a while

I'd rather have that than a similar/same mangusta thing (but in a dior livery... wow, what a selling point that must be to most gt7 players ...).

A fresh and relevant high performance road car.

Surprised no Alfa Guila QF in the game either, seeing as there is an Alfa presence. One of best cars they've made in a long time. High performance and very good looking car imo.

That's all fine and dandy but like i said above you will wait quite a while to get it , i still waiting for my McLaren 720s GT3...

I thibk with each update there should be a mix of older cars, maybe slightly obscure one and then a popular modern performance car, which most people with a vague interst in cars know about and would like to drive/own in game, if not real life.

Obviously you can't please everyone but I'd wager a reasonable % of players woukd rather see a newish Rs, M car or amg over (another) mangusto, which probably only really appeals to a small audience.

Would also like to say that we do not know everything that's in the works/files. We know that one car list, sure, but we don't know if there are cars listed elsewhere that missed the leak.

Do keep in mind the Suzuki VGTs weren't publicised (I'm pretty sure, at least) - and yet Nenkai and others knew about them. The list we see isn't the whole picture.

I predict that they'll do the laziest thing possible and have one of the 3 new cars being the collaboration skin, meaning 2 new cars.
Can I point something out that should be obvious to all. PD will be working to a DLC schedule agreed with Sony to maximise sales & workflow.

That could be 3 cars and the occasional track per month. Then a more significant GT7 2.0. Or even GT8. Whatever schedule they’re working to, no one is being lazy. Like all dev teams, they’ll be working flat out, while trying to avoid crunch. As should be obvious from so many AAA titles being delayed this year.
