RACE STUFF
I’ve got 4 TV’s so just bring your console + memory card + GT4 disk + race frame etc… Nibblies and softdrink will be provided, but if you want some hot food the corner shop will take your order (they do burgers, chips and stuff). Above you will see a list of cars, please add them all to your favourites before the LAN to save time and to keep things running smoothly. Below you will see a list of races that I hope we will all enjoy. You will see that some races form sub-catagories (One make, GTP, JGTC 300, Lemans etc…). Although all races will go towards the days total points, separate sub-catagories will also be rewarded. Wonder if anyone will make a clean sweep of all the catagories and overall? Points systems will be decided on the day depending on driver numbers (ie 1st place gets one point for each driver running, 2nd gets that minus 1, 3rd minus 2 etc…). So if 4 of us are racing – 1st = 4pts, 2nd = 3pts, 3rd = 2pts, 4th = 1pt. Might throw in an extra point for ‘fastest lap’. Heres to a fun days racing. I'm going to run 3-5 lap races depending on driver numbers. Tire wear will be OFF. Driver aids while not encouraged will be allowed. Cheers.

I’m more thinking along the lines of GTR’s, NSX’s, RX7’s, BMW’s, Monaro’s etc…. Not soo much a tight points race, but a bit more relaxed and a bit of good fun around The Ring in one of your real life favorite rides. Nuff Said.

Comments: One make race.

RACE 15 Cont…….

Tires : round Black things.
Comments: I guess we see how things are going at this point. Having just run 14 odd races I think we should come up for air at this point in time. But if there are car/tracks that we want to keep running then fair enough . Lets see how the day goes gents.

Hope to post some pics and results.

I'm still finding GT4 is a good way to link up and have some simulated driving fun. Went down to Victoria last weekend to catch up with a few online mates and have some racing. Results are not up yet but should be available over the next week or so. Some pics in there somewhere -

I'm still keen to hear from any local Queensland lads who want to try thier hand at some LAN racing. So if anyone would like to give it a go then don't be shy and speak up as its bloody good fun. I hope to be able to get a raceday up and running on Saturday 7th July at my place (Gold Coast, Queenland).

:)

I've been playing GT4 for 6 months now and only just found this thread on GTPlanet.

My name is David, my email is david@edicustoms.com.au and I live just north of Brisbane.

I'd love to try a GT4 LAN party, i've never done anything like that but it sounds like fun. Unfortunately, i can't make the GC on July 7 as I'm racing at Oran Park that weekend.

Hey mate. Good to see another SE Queenslander who enjoys some GT :)

I know VTRacing is keen to have a run, and i think he is tied up on the 14th, so the 7th is the ealiest date i could think of. I could possibly put it back a couple of weeks if that would be good for you Torana XU-1 (ie 21st?).

LAN racing is soo much better than running hotlaps or with the AI. The only time i play GT these days is pretty much in LAN mode. Let me know if another date suits mate as its always good to have lots of cars on the grid and more racers.

Oran Park. You lucky bugger. What cars are you running with? I know VTRacing runs some Rallies in Queensland and his real life driving certainly rubs off with GT4 (he usually kicks our arses!). You'll probably be the same. Bugger.

btw, I like your sig, Allan Moffatt in his Rx7 driving days was good to watch. Go the rotaries.

Thanks Rypien, the V8s are racing at QR on July 21, i may go out to watch them. The two follwing weekends might be free.

I race in Group Nc Historic Touring Cars.

I'm new to GT4 and i'm not that good. I only have bronze licences and i'm at 26.4% completion.

Would Saturday July 28th be a good date to do some racing? Nothing too serious, but some close racing fun.

I can make myself free for the 28th

Though Ryp, I'm happy to run on the 7th as well with just the three of us. Assuming of course that won't lead to GT4 overload for you... ;)

Cool 👍

So i'm really keen to book in the Saturday 28th July for some Lan racing. Its good to have some interest from both VTRacing and Torana XU-1. With myself and Nigel that possibly makes a four player grid and some good fun racing. If anyone can't make it or things change then just post here.

And you mentioned that you may still want to still have some laps on the Saturday 7th July (i think Torana XU-1 was unavailable on that date) than i'd be more than happy VTRacing. It would just be the three of us i think. And mate, Nigel and I can easily pack up the ute with some TV's and all our gear and head up to Brissie if you are sick of driving down this way all the time. Just say the word.

So -

Saturday 7th July
Rypien
theGimp
VTRacing

Saturday 28th July
Rypien
theGimp
VTracing
Torany XU-1

Now i can supply the TV's. I've got 2 x 51cm spare TV's for you guys to use if you want. If you want to bring down any big screen TV thats your favorite, then feel free. You will of course have to supply your own PS2 (slimline or Lan enabled chunky style) and GT4 disk and memory card (although i do have one spare 100% gamesave one). If you have your favorite steering wheel and/or raceseat and/or controller than feel free to bring it. I do have a spare wooden frame with Driving Force wheel.

Anyways, good to have some interest 👍

I'll try and get some interesting combos posted soon.

I'll be at Oran Park on July 7, but i'm keen to make July 28.

If you can supply a 51cm TV and an ordinary dining chair, i'll bring a slimline PS2, memory card with 26% gamesave, DFP and wooden frame to suit.

Awesome mate. 👍 . 28th it is.

I'll set aside a spare TV, a seat, and a good 100% memory card with all cars/tracks unlocked and Lan ready.

So boys, i'm still partial to kicking things off at around 10-11am'ish Too early, too late? I'll definately work on some car/track combos and post em up for you blokes to comment on. If you 'really' want a certain car/track then speak up :sly:

And of course the obilgatory Ring Run for the day -

10am or so sounds good.

As for cars and tracks, I think you need some work on the M5...

I will probably be out of contact for a day or two, damn work.

I can't believe I haven't noticed this thread until now. I'd love to be able to race some fellow Aussie players but I have no idea how this LAN thing works nor where the location is. Any info would be appreciated.

BTW,
Luke - Melbourne, VIC - Lamborghini101x@hotmail.com

(I had no idea there were this many Australian GTP'ers; the only people I knew from Aus was Casio and Holl01...)

LewyMan fancy some racing on the 7th or 28th of this month mate? Would be good to have another driver on the grid :) . Its bloody good fun i tell ya.

And boys, 10am sounds good to me too. If we say 10, then by the time we set up and piss fart around it will probably be close to 11ish before we have bums in seats anyways. No need to bring munchies, i'll have some drink and chips etc.... I'll probably make up a pizza or hotdogs or something for a bit of a snack too. And i hear ya on the m5 VTracing

GT Pro some local lads - http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~tosk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=773&start=0 . I'm sure they would welcome new guys no problem.

Had some fun racing with VTRacing and my bro in law the other Saturday, and i'm looking forward to some more door to door stuff on the 28th. My computer has decided to s.h.i.t itself so i'm limited to the work comuter for updates.

I have been working on testing some car/track combos and will definately have something up before the 28th. Have some good ides and i hope they translate to some good racing with a variety of cars.

Anyways, i'll do a round of PM's with my addy etc.. for those that have expressed interest shortly.

Looking forward to it lads :)
