I'm not being negative, I'm just disapointed, I was incredibly happy with the GTC class, always have but when people dn't show up, without a legitimate reason, it's incredibly disapointing. And I would run GT3 but the matter of the fact is; I'm on a lifeless DS3, so there's .5 of a second there and I barely have time between school, karting, friends and other series' so there is at least a second. I would just walk out of a series but I want to support different series' and take part in various leagues to test my skill on a DS3. And as I've said, I will move up to GT3 again but not until I get the time.

you are not obligated to take your initial choice of car, if you find something on the list that better suits your needs from the list then request here to swap it, or request for some tuning help or advice if you are struggling

I'll get to it, currently I'm tuning an Audi R8 LMS Ultra and I've managed to rid the car of its tragic snap oversteer so if the Audi is still available I'd take that but I won't make a decision until after Brands Hatch.

Dont... Take the Ford GT. That is what I should have chosen but I thought it might be a bit too easy (though that would have been better than driving a car I hate to drive...). The Audi is not fast. Well actually it IS fast but only in a straight line. I did all my testing at the Red Bull ring, I shouldn't have. It was too fast a track to test on. Last round I put in one all out lap and it was pretty prefect on almost no fuel and new RS tyres. I got almost every corner right and also caught Greasy at just the right time to get a great draft. But still my lap was beaten. The Audi is a dog, unless of course you have some super setup for it.

I quite like the Audi but I am testing the others. I've seemed to have gotten the Audi's rear back inline pretty well so the snap oversteer is pretty much non-exsistent but as I said, I'm testing the others to find the best blend of speed & handling to help make my decision.

My car tends to oversteer a little on entry then massively understeers at all other times till it gets that snap oversteer. But its the fastest setup I've found so far.

Well I found a sweet spot with it on a DS3 but I don't think it would work well on a wheel. Even then, you and I probably have different driving styles so what works for me may not work for you.

Gents, Free Practice #2 tonight. 9pm NZT onwards.

Current quick time is 1:26.5xx
Got my hopes up that I'll be on the pace. I'm currently lapping 1.23.9's in the Nissan (room for improvement), 1.24's in the SLS, 1.24.7's in the Audi and I'm yet to test the Ford GT.

I did read 1:26.5 and thought that was a bit slow for Brands hatch, I think I remember doing a 17/18 in a merc for one of the a-spec career races so I thought that 19/20 would be more around the mark. Will be back home in 24 hours and I have all day Friday off, so I will be doing a test day of Gt and Touring Car running for those willing to join.

hello gentlemen,

I am going to take the yellow Audi for the remainder of the season,

BRANDS HATCH GP CIRCUIT
Brands Hatch grand prix circuit, drivers brief,

The start, the start of the race will be on the straight that links Surtees to Hawthorn, the field will take shape exiting Surtees and the pole winner will have the option to jump before the bridge, if the pole winner goes through the bridge then the race is declared as green,

Dave has permitted me to advertise my new racing series the Renault Megane Trophy Challenge, in this thread. So, in saying that, here is a little bit of info about the series;
The Renault Megane Trophy Challenge (RMTC) is a racing series that uses the fast and agile Renault Megane Trophy Base Model '11 on the most demanding and iconic world tracks (along with a few PD created tracks) to see which driver trumps all in this fast-paced one-make series. The series will span over 12 rounds with points available at each round with double points on offer in the 3 marquee events (TBD). To keep the competition close between wheel and DS3 users, there will be 2 classes, a Pro class for wheel users and a Amatuer class for the DS3 users. Amatuer class racers can progress to the Pro class at their own discretion.
I could go on but I thought it would be best to leave it there. All we need is a few more drivers and we will be able to announce a definitive time and start the season.

RACE REPORT ROUND 9 MADRID

Hi guys, unfortunately Greasy couldn't do it this time around as he didn't finish the race. So I thought id step in and see how it goes.

Qualifying

For this round we saw a shortened session, due to the likelihood of server maintenance taking place before the checked flag flew we had 5min to put it on the line and get the grid formed. This proved to be first in many ways, Flash took his first pole of the season and he would have @nosoks sitting beside him on the front row for what is his best qualifying session so far this season. Rounding out the field is @Greasy07 , @Lion-Face , @TDZdave , @nasanu and last but not least our GTC pole winner @NW48

RACE

With the warm up/ pace lap finish and the green flag thrown, @TheFlash05 gets the jump heading into turn 3 followed by Nosoks, Greasy, Lion, Dave, Nas and NW48

Unfortunately Nosoks would be the first to have a heart stopping moment as he lights the tires up on the exit of the fountain sweeper. Allowing Greasy and Lion to sneak past in their pursuit of Flash.

End of lap one: Flash, Greasy, Lion, Nosoks, Dave, Nas and NW

First pit stops would start occuring from lap 3 when Dave gets it wrong entering the final hairpin and parks it in the wall, Nas follows him in and both Audi's are forced to pit along with NW's Subaru who apeared to have sustained damage elsewhere.

Nosoks continues to impress not letting Lion and Greasy get away, even as they push on trying to real Flash back in.

Even though NW48 is racing against himself this round, he continues to put in the laps and improve his skills.

Lap 7 unfortunately would be as far as Dave would go. Mechanical failure putting the Audi hard into the wall and the bottom hairpin.

Greasy would be the next to find himself in trouble, pushing to hard through the turn one chicane he loses the back end allowing Lion to draw along side on the run down to the roundabout. Greasy goes defensive and tags the inside wall. Both Lion and Nosoks go past but Greasy continues on until lap 16 when the damage becomes to much to handle.

With Greasy emerging from the pits, Nas gives chase.

Lap 15 gives Flash his first heart stopping moment while heading into turn one, NW loses control and spins right in front of him causing evasive action. This allows Lion to catch right up to within 1.6 seconds.

Lion & Nosoks make their first scheduled stops on lap 17. Followed by Flash on lap 18.

Nas pits again on lap 21, he rejoins in front of Lion but out-brakes himself going into turn one and finds the tire wall.

Flash has heart attack number two when he attempts to get past NW48 and almost follows him into the wall at turn 4. Lion catches up again to within 1.5 seconds.

Lion makes his second stop on lap 32, Flash lap 33 and rejoins with a 5 second gap back to the hard charging Lion. This allows Nosoks to move into lead for first time. After a couple of laps in hot pursuit Flash tags the wall twice down at the bottom hairpin. Lion is all over him but refuses to pit with front end damage.

Nosoks heads onto pit lane on lap 39 and Flash retakes the lead with Lion just behind. Greasy also manages to sneak past Nosoks while pitting. But only just.

The battle for the lead begins to heat up with Flash & Lion running lap after lap within 0.5 second not giving an inch.

Rubbings racing

And again, but still unable to find away past the damaged BMW

After 15mins of pressure, Flash heads for the pits for the final time. With fixed steering he sets out hoping to minimize the lost time to Lion who pits on the following lap. Flash exits turn one just in-front of Lion at pit exit.

Flash catches NW48 heading down the back straight, managing to lift the front wheels at the kink. This puts NW48 between himself and Lion costing him valuable time until making a safe pass down the front straight.

Nosoks is trucking along chasing Greasy slowing dragging him back in.

Flash & Lion continue to push on, keeping it close but clean.

Lap after lap

Lap 58 sees Nas make an error at the roundabout, NW48 was left with nowhere to go and collects him square in the passengers door.

Nosoks continues to put in the quick laps, eventually making his way back into 3rd after a pitstop from Greasy

Lap 60 sees a potentially costly mistake from Flash at turn one. With Lion keeping up the pressure, he misses the apex, squares of the corner and is forced to drag race the Merc into the roundabout. Going slightly defensive Flash gently moves across the racing line forcing Lion to back off and keeps him in 2nd. Lions tires eventually giving in and he decides to consolidate 2nd position.

Unfortunately Greasy has mechanical problems on lap 63 and is forced to retire. Allowing Nosoks to relax and consolidate a well earned 3rd place.

Running out of time Nas puts the pedal down hoping to complete enough laps to take 4th from Greasy. Laying plenty of rubber down in the process. It wasn't to be though, a long late race pitstop causes him to miss out by just one lap.

With time coming to an end, server maintenance had begun a mutual agreement was decided to slow and run the clock down enabling us to finish the race ASAP. Flash takes the chequered flag 3 seconds in front of Lion with Nosoks coming in a not to distant 3rd.

NW48 takes the victory in GTC with a determined drive.

Well done to all who stuck with it till the end. It was a hard close race but allot of fun. Bring on Brands Hatch!

specially Audi customer parking at the hairpin

You know when that happened I KNEW that there would be a screenshot of that. When I saw you go in I got a little distracted by it and went a bit too deep myself. I could have made the corner though but not without hitting you so I just had to park it next to you. Funny stuff.

I had a few laps last week and hated it. Tried most of the cars on the grid too. I wish pd would up their game on the physics. Some cars, often stock road cars feel awesome, just right but these GT3 cars are horrendous. I want to run crying back into the arms of assetto corsa each time I drive one.

Well, I ssupport PD to all ends of the earth, but these last few weeks it's been diminishing. The GT3 cars are terrible in GT6. I'd like to say GAS does it better but they are probably on par with GT6. I'm yet to actually drive a GT3 car in any game that handles like it should (console games).

If you mean Grid motorsport then you need to get off the drugs it is not even close to being a race simulator is arcade
Grid is childish codemaster crap at its finest and not even in the same league as GT6
Where Grid would suit ppl on DS3 who can't afford to get even a Logitech driving force
just listen to what this guys says in the first few minutes

What are you're guys expectations here? Every car to handle like its on rails because it has wings and slicks? If you know of a real sim that gives you that experience let me know. Because ive never driven on it. How do you know what a real GT3 car even drives like? Got one in your garage?

The thing I like about GT6 is you can distinguish the differences in cars with weight, underfloor aero, winged aero etc, The thing that is bloody annoying though is the snap oversteer that seems to have no explanation for it at all,

Wonder if i could con Betty into letting me have a spin in one of her Mercs so I can report back to everyone? ;) Or maybe even one of the guys running an Audi to see if they have that snap oversteer too? ;)
