Australian V8 Super Cars Ford Falcon XR8 vs Chevrolet Camaro SS '10 RM

Welcome to the Aussie V8 Supercar challenge. I am performing an interest check to see whether this will work as a Race Series.

RACE DAY: Friday 2nd September.

Qualifying 8PM BST
Race: 8:15PM BST


Test Sessions:
4pm-8pm BST - Wednesday's
4pm-8pm BST - Friday's

Permitted Cars​

Ford Falcon XR8 - Aero limited to 35/60
Camaro SS 2010 RM - Aero Maxed out 35/60

The specs of the Falcon must be 450BHP with the weight limited to 1350kg. Also the Aero may be however setting you wish. However it must not go over the PP rating of 580 All upgrades are permitted such as engine stages and superchargers etc.

After you have RM'd the Camaro please buy all Upgrades such as engine stages and supercharger etc. Then limit power to 450BHP and limit weight to 1350kg. You must have a PP rating of 580. You may not decrease BHP to increase the Aero and vice versa. The Aero may be however setting you wish but it must not exceed 580 PP


Max BHP: 450
Min Weight: 1350
Tires: Two Tyre's, Qualifying must be on Racing Mediums. Softs are the optional tyres.

Race Day Procedure

You must qualify on Racing Mediums and you may later Switch to Softs. There is no specific number of laps you must do with each compound.

Driving Line: Driver Preferrence
Skid Recovery Force: Off
Active Steering: Off
Active Stability Management: Off
Traction Control: Off
ABS: 1

Damage: Low
Penalties: Off
Tyre/ Fuel Depletion: On
Grip Reduction: Real
Time Delay: 180 seconds

How about I limit the PP which will make up for the Aero Difference?

This is a spot race so in my opinion its in the right place. It is an interest check to see whether it will work as a race series...But a race is still taking place....

Isn't there a Ford Falcon road car in GT5? You could put that in with the two Holdens.

There is a ford falcon but its the racing version...The falcon will leave the holdens for dust due to the aero (as mitch pointed out)....Is there a ford saloon car in the game?

There is a falcon road car however I don't think it actually has falcon in the name. Give me a second and I'll check the car list.

Edit: Just checked and FPV, the ones who made the falcon aren't in the dealership list. They were in GTPSP however.

damn..I've lso noticed that the PSP version has more tracks...

I think the FPV falcon was the only car left out from GT5, I knew it was an Aussie V8 which was left out, but I tought it was a Holden.

Appreciate it's an American car but the RM'd SS Camaro is meant to be designed to replicate Kelly's Jack Daniels car .... Or so I'm led to believe.

Maybe worth giving it a test in comparison.

Ok i've had a look at the RM SS camaro...The Holdens have no front aero meaning that they will understeer..whereas the SS camaro's lowest front aero can only be reduced to 20....

So we have an option of racing with a non RM Camaro with both holdens

or

The ford Falcon Race car with a RM Camaro. No holdens since they'd get killed..

What do you guys think

Well, I actually have no Falcon XR8 ... and I prefer to see more than two different cars in a race ...
