Manual or Auto

its not that bad, i started the game on manual, and once i got used to it, it feels extremely wierd in an auto, sometimes it picks awkward times to up- or downshift.

Indeed, but i like to shift later into my turn approach and then start my turn in. Since shifting disenganges power to the drive wheels, i figured it would help reduce traction in the rear, letting the back come out, and then after the shift and subsequent kick out, the wheels would start spinning.

but can cause instant snap oversteer, which can be a problem for a long time in sharper handling cars, ive seen people that rock (ever hear of latino1ny from gamefaqs? he rocks) struggle for hours trying to get the button down on a setup, for that on single probem.

I can handle my lotus just fine grip and drift with manual and all aids off. if you need to, set it to manual, and go through all the b and a domestic tests, and turn the racing line on. that way you dont have to worry bout entry points on the turn, you can focus just on shifting.

im just not good at it, and dont want to change at the moment sence im preparing to shoot a vid. (which i will leave unedited, by the way, i like it when people try to find my flaws and tell about them so i can improve!)

yes, i meant idol, and hes widely considered the best oin the board over there. i think itd be a laugh to flood it with the best drift vids on GTplanet and see his reaction!

Manual all the way my drifting brothers. :) You have more control over the car and I think you pay more closer attention to what gear your in, and what speed you are doing when using manual. Thats what I think anyway. 👍

Can anyone give me a good reason to use auto except MAYBE the endurance races?

I think it would be a good idea to work on your racing lines with auto, concentrate on your driving and not worry about the gears. I used auto all the time before I started drifting. :)
