Ok, guys I know this is kinda of late, but I think we have to run cautions like we did at Blancpain or risk losing drivers that have spin outs! Pretty much if 2 drivers type caution then we slow the pack down until the chasing drivers catch up. The pits are closed while under the pace lap. After the cars catch up the pits will open and drivers can pit. Once all cars have pitted then we type last caution lap and then that next race we go green.

-Thoughts?

Whatever I'll go with the flow on this one.

Racing tonight in my lounge again tonight guys btw :)

I know how to do it, I'll do the typing. Drivers just remember if you see 2 types of caution in the browser boxy time to slow down to roughly 88mph'

88 is a very funny number...

My issue isn't with the complexity of it. Just you gotta be an idiot to cause a wreck.

1 hold your line no matter what. Don't try squeeze or defend in the turns.
2 don't try overtake in the turns. Just lift off
3 don't bump in the turns unless you've both practiced earlier
4 don't go below the yellow

Zack, you hit it on the head.

Done a few of these Daytona races backs with the GTRRL, a lot of give and take for the most part of the race.
125 laps is over 3 times more we done back then, so no need to win the thing in lap 5.

I didn't know this was just racing around the oval circuit, I'll start next week instead with the yellow hat if its available.

Powering up now!, TnT and I will be in his lounge to race start'
we are in Zach's lounge to qualify people. Could I get a steward to qualify me. Joe is here but not lol.
Pretty please :)

Come on Bazzer, don't skip because of it being an oval. Join man :)

The auto 2 line rolling start can sometimes be a bit buggy but I'm willing to give it ago.

I'm online now.

And TNT, attendance always going to be an issue haha, some guys don't like oval. I've done a lot of nascar so I enjoy it :) but for others who do road racing it can seem dull.

We've already lost Yera and Calum because of the oval nature

Just so everyone is aware I'm going to be strict this race.

Anyone who deviates from line and causes a collision or someone into the wall, which results In the driver losing the draft can expect a penalty.

If a driver is forced bellow the yellow there will be a penalty.

Penalties galore fellas :)

Last 4-5 laps, nuts.
I feel that, but all & all a very good trilling race indeed! 👍 Daytona was fun but I will probably prefer to race Indy, or Motegi I'm the future. Daytona would be fun with a full too tho!

Also before I create the Allstar race op the last week of November how do you guys feel about racing the Nurburgring Allstar race this month like usual? It's open enrollment so if only a few I will still create it in the spot race section.

Penalties

TNT - Failure to use the RM compound, ran RH for the entire race

Skeng - Failure to use the RM compound, you used Sports Medium instead (what were you thinking? haha)

Both drivers receive a reprimand

Did I become champ last night ?
Youre 22 pts ahead of me, and 30 ahead of Seth. So all you gotta do is turn up for Le Mans start and thats it lol

Yeh i remember when i went into pits and saw sports tires , i thought it was a glitch , my times were pretty good for sm lol

I think if you guys bring back the oval tracks next season either have 2 sprint races with no caution and give half points for each race .

Or run the full length race like last night but have cautions on specific laps for example laps 25 50 and 75 and 100 and run the 3 lap caution to give ppl the chance to pit and catch up (then you can enforce the caution speed rule ) , also after a certain like i guess lap 100 you shouldnt have any more cautions and ppl would have to make sure to keep there appropriate positions during these caution periods

its a lot of stewardship work lol

just an idea , the race wasnt boring but it was just too many cautions , practice makes perfect i guess we needed to get an idea of how it works

I had so much fun racing the race hard tires on Daytona, I forgot to change to mediums. Plus with the cautions I didn't think about the other tire compound. We definately need to do another oval race at Daytona, Motigi and Indy.

This is to the comment of guys not showing because of an oval race. I don't exactly like every road cours we race at, but I do it for our team points and for our series. Not showing just because it's an oval is lame. 👎 :)

I also agree with SkengD. His aproch to running at Daytona Oval is a good one to look into for all the ovals we will probably race.

I personally think we should stay away from ovals from now on.

To run on them requires some very track specific rule changes.

While yes they are fun, we should aim to please the most people we can, and there's no denying we had certain drivers not show because of the track. Yes some road courses are like this. But there's fewer drivers who skip road courses than ovals.

Also standard room quality is not acceptable for oval races. It needs to be at the very minimum high, as the cars need to be able to run 3/4 wide without lag jumps. I've brought this up before, saying I can host high and even very high room quality, but the issue is that some guys may not be able to connect, and it could infact increase the overall lag in the room.

For the GT6 series both GT3 and GT500 what we will be running should stay clear of ovals.

We could however run none championship rounds at ovals, where pts are not awarded. Much like the end of season all star race we run at the minute

I'm also racing in a Blancpain inspired series that clashes with this series, and even though I've been favouring this series when having to choose between racing GT500 cars at Daytona Oval or racing a 458 Italia at Laguna Seca I had to go with the latter...

My connection seems decent enough to host so we could experiment with that one day if you guys want to

It's not an issue with the host. It's because in lounge everybody shares the connection. So if there's 1 subpar connection then race settings on high will cause immense lag.

Also having room setting on high would prevent guys like willfred/Ghaek from joining.

Look what GT6 has!
