The Automotive Creative Competition is an edit a stock shot of mine, from a different automotive game or real life car photo each week, with as much photo editing work as you like to do, but with a mix of racing games, driving games and real life car photos by me.

GTHD shot this week!

I am afraid I cannot enter, basically because...well...erm..... the possibilities with this picture are quite restricted. The wheel blur is technically very hard to do same with the zoom blur as there is no real vanishing point. I mean I tried but can't do much else than what I tried to do and it doesn't look good....at all. So I am sorry. Hopefully week 9 will be more successful.

Like I said I cannot take those entries in, because you entered them too late.

What does it actually matter that they are a bit too late?
The reasons are this:

*The deadline was extended by a week due to no entries, and even after it was extended still no one entered.

*I don't like people putting up something to late, because some deadlines are not meant to be broken. Because think about it being late is like, when some is late to a line, there most likely to be some pushing in a line.

However since a lot of people want a poll up for this week, I will think about it.

But most likely I will not post up a poll due to the entries being posted up late, which is because if I posted the poll up, people may do the same thing for week 9, which is something I don’t like seeing, because it could create a trend.

Ok to make sure entries are not entered too late now, I have added a poll, which could mean future deadlines last for 2 weeks now or if not then they stay for a week only. But remember polls will still last for 5 days, however in the future polls may only last for 2 days real soon.

Maybe no one liked the image that much. I tried doing a bit with it, but it was too blurred and too dark. I managed a bit (I have it at home), but got bored after a while... it was just too diffuse. Perhaps a better picture might bet more results?

Whether you decide to keep it a week or not, it's quite unfair to disregard all entries because they were late. You didn't even have one when the deadline was over!!

Speaking of fairness, what does the winner win? I mean, in other competitions they get to decide the following week's theme/picture... what does the winner here get? And please don't use the "if you don't like it don't post in it" argument. I'm just curious... perhaps a bit more participation by the winner of each week might produce more results in the end.

Remember focusing on an image on a HDTV is not easy, but the winner gets is just pure pleasure and recession. But remember deadlines should never be broken, because a deadline being not followed is like when food is out of date.

However just to let you know, the only way the winner can pick a picture for the next week is if I send him 4 shots to decide out, which shot is the picture for the following week.

It's not like you're curing cancer, Jamie... it's just a photomode competition. B'sides, you're still inviting people to enter it in your signature :P

Anyway, good luck in resolving the issue. Just one more thing: recession is not a good thing. "Relaxation" maybe?

You should of at least posted that the competition was closed.
I wasn't really into the picture, but when I saw that there were no entries I figured I would make one.
Which brought more entries in. :sly:
I say put up a poll, this is just a friendly competition. You don't have to be that strict on the rules. :)

This is what I think:

Personally I like this competition and I like having new photos to do things with. At the moment we all seem to be arguing about whether we should have a poll. Personally just put a poll up containing the entries that we have had, people have put hard work into these and surely it would be a waste if you weren't to do something with them. So get the poll up, get the next weeks comp up as soon as possible and just carry on with life. It isn't a life or death matter if a few entries came in late, they are still entries, it's better than nothing. So lets get it sorted.

I totally understand Late is Late ... and I guess TVR must be quite pissed to get no entry even extended to two weeks, but we all entered only after the deadline, so damn ironic  If TVR doesn't want to put the poll up to penalty us for being late, just to remind us not to be late in the future and I think it is fair. BUT if TVR not putting the poll up, do you guys think we will still enter in the future? On the other hand, this is not school and late doesn't against AUP, so there is nothing wrong with it. Consider some thread owners from other comp are always late for the poll, should we say fire him for not doing a proper job? Just my opinion.

I am only going to setup a poll this once, however when week 9 poll goes up the new deadline for votes in future polls will be pushed down to 2 days.

News

These new things are coming into affect as of now:

*Winners get to decide, which shot is posted up for a one of the weeks, which is two weeks ahead of the week they won in, so if say week 7 winner picked shot one of four, then that shot would be posted up for week 9.

*Everyone gets a new level of interaction with this comp, while being able to decide the shot for the following week in a pre-shot decided poll, so if say everyone picked shot two of four, then that shot would be posted up for the following week.

However the poll for this would be posted up on the day the poll went up for the current week, in other words if the poll was meant for week 9, then it would be posted up on the same day the poll for week 8 went up.

Pre-shot decider for the shot, which is decided for week 10 will be posted up, when week 9 poll goes up.

I tried to make it as simple as possible, while using Microsoft Word. However your soon see what I meant by my last reply.
