Cautious optimism!

And now I wait and see how all of this is reduced to nothing by being slowest in qualifying and crash out in the first corner.

It hasn't happened yet, so any time now..

Crap, completely forgot to submit a setup. Will do so now for Qualifying and race.

Hmm, that seems to be quite the nerfing the McLarens got, I need a totally different mentality for setting it up.

Miku Hatsune, #44 driver: "...WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M FIRST?! You're playing with me!!!!...

Okay, I had my moment, so I just ran regular laps around and the engineer told me I did a good job placing in the top 15, I didn't know top 15 could have meant first place! I'm very proud of myself on how far I progressed, maybe we can win something!"

Kyle Busch, #43 driver: "Man, I don't know what the guys back at the shop did to this car, but it flies around the track, man. I have no complaints with the car this time around--it's just doggone fast! I'd like to thank Goodsmile for sponsoring the car, M&Ms, Pedigree, Toyo--wait... uh, sorry! Aha, uhm, great result today, hopefully we can transition to the race well!

Stefano di Fiorano, team director: "We've done a good job today, for sure. The newer spec diffusers that the WSC guys approved in the homologation revision are an absolute godsend. That said, considering our poor luck last two rounds, I am only cautiously optimistic about our chances this round."

Reina Akikawa, #76 driver: "First off, congratulations to Miku Hatsune for the brilliant lap she put in qualifying today! She's come an incredibly far way for someone of her skill level. I can't wait for the race to come! It'll be a REAL battle of the idols, the way it should have been at Fuji!"

Emma Pergusa, #77 driver: "After being stuck at the back of an admittedly REALLY strong pack for two races in a row, it is kind of nice to be at the front. I'm still dumbstruck at how an idol of all people managed to beat me, but I've heard crazier stories in lore. Here's to... uh, scoring really well this race?"

Lumi Ahokainen, #78 driver: "Damn that final corner. Feel like part of the seat is going to jump out from underneath me and punch me in the groin."

Stefano di Fiorano, team director: "As usual, our complete lack of luck strikes us yet again. Despite the great job the drivers of the #78 did, our championship hopes are well and truly over. Good luck to the rest of the teams still in the fight."

Rena Hirose, #76 driver: "We had the pace, we had the speed, but that means absolutely nothing in Endurance racing. I'm actually kind of angry this is happening to us. We HAVE gotten our act together, it's just too bad our cars are not saying the same thing."

Amber Sebringson, #77 driver: "Everything was going so well. We qualified well, we were beaten only by the Goodsmile guys in pace, and it was my home track. And then the gearbox just completely and utterly stripped itself to shreds. This is the absolute worst way for us to conclude the first half of the season... I'm on the verge of tears right now."

Jack Acid, #77 driver: <incoherent swearing, screaming, with the occasional sob here and there>

Yayoi Takatsuki, #78 new driver: "WOW! I can't believe it! We were so close to beating the Goodsmile boys! I'm SOOO hyped after that race, I could do it all over again!!!!! I can't wait to be racing the next events!!!"

Ayu Tsukimiya, #78 new driver: "All those years I spent in the Saimoe Super GT Championship have finally paid off! Yayoi and I are going to be drowning in huge buckets of taiyaki tonight!"

AMR Team Goodsmile - 3rd car announced...
Bahrain - AMR Team Goodsmile announced abruptly that they would produce a third car to race for the upcoming rounds of the TAG Heuer World Sportscar Championship, coming off strong after their Sebring win. Even though they totally have the funds to support their 3rd car, many still have doubts about the reliability of the Astons, as demonstrated countless times throughout the first half of the season.

"We can assure the fans that the cars are as reliable than ever." An AMR Team Goodsmile spokesperson, Akira Taniguchi, told the media Wednesday morning, "The team have been hard at work to improve the car has much as possible, whether it be in bare pace, or in the reliability and efficiency of the cars."

This claim will be put to the test, as the Goodsmile team have yet to have a race since Daytona that both cars have reached the finish line when the clock ticked down to zero. Having a third car could most likely make the reliability issue worse, as they would have to spread resources across more cars.

Taniguchi continued, "With the addition of the third car, the team will be stronger than ever!"

Without further adieu, the driver lineup for the #45 team is as follows, with some big shakeups from the last time we've talked about the #45 car...

Sverre Isachsen
Nationality: Norwegian
Age: 45
A rallycross driver for Subaru, Isachsen eagerly agreed to race for an endurance team--a surprise to rallycross fans across the world. Although he is a very experienced driver on the rallycross circuit, he has yet to make a proper circuit racing debut. Due to this, his driving style may be a bit erratic with the certain shenanigans that rallycross drivers possess, but he will be willing to improve and adapt to the much longer races.

Pedro Lamy
Nationality: Portuguese
Age: 43
The most experienced and decorated driver out of the bunch. Lamy is the model for many of the drivers in the team to look up to. Patient, tactical, and accurate to a tick, he will be the one to rely on for the last stint, a tough battle, or a dark night drive. He's also been around Aston Martins for a while, as well, so that is also working in his favor. Excited to work with the Goodsmile team, Lamy will be a definite factor in any race that he runs.

Faisal Mahmoud
Nationality: Saudi Arabian
Age: 31
A former Street Circuit driver for Ravenwest, he was dropped after a series of mediocre results, letting a championship slip into the hands of Intel Motorsport just last season. After the many rumors of Mahmoud being called to the Aston Martin Ravenwest arsenal, he was ultimately left without a ride for 2016. However, Team Goodsmile saw the opportunity to give Mahmoud a second chance, reviving his hopes to run at the top tier of motorsport. Although he won't be racing for points this time, it feels good to be back racing.

Satone Shichimiya

Nationality: Japanese
Age: 16
AMR Team Goodsmile held a contest on the hit video game, Project Gran Forza 2016, in order to look for talent to drive for the third car team in the WSC. Out of the 700,000 participants, only one came out of top--Canada's own Austin Ogonoski!... However, Canada was exempt from the contest... so it went to Ota, Japan's own Satone Shichimiya! Although she entered false information for the contest (She entered as Sophia Ring from San Marino, supposedly 25 years of age), the organizers decided to let her through and give her a whirl with the car. Impressed with her ability, the team decided to let her race. Watch out, Lucas Ordonez!

Sick job, Rowdy Busch!--and the rest of the GSR crew!... now to beat that pesky Italian and his little Porsche racing outfit!

Amber: "Do you believe in miracles, Emma?"
Emma: "Of course I do. How else are we still racing, even after what's happened to us?"

Ayu: "I never knew a mechanic could be this good at making sweets. Man, Frank prepares a meaaaaaan taiyaki. So delicious~"
Jack: "Is snacking all you ever did when you raced for Key Racing Arts in that damned Saimoe GT Championship? No wonder why you were let go - they couldn't pay to feed your fat 🤬!"

Jack: "I'm not sure who has it worse; me for being surrounded by a bad anime harem dressed up in racing overalls, or Stefano for not being able to pick his damn waifu."
Frank: "You ever wonder if Lumi has it bad too? I mean, she kinda just skimmed Emma's rear bumper right about now..."

Jack: "I'm not going insane, am I Frank? Are we actually at the top of the practice timing sheets for once?"
Frank: "Er, you've been goin' nuts for most of this season. We are at the top of them practice sessions, tho."
Jack: "With a :censored:ing setup we used from Sebring. As a baseline. You're not making this up?"

Yayoi: "Wow, we're so close to the Goodsmile cars again! I'm getting hyper just THINKING about the big race this weekend!"
Emma: "I'm hyped up too, but don't get too focused on team rivalries. Everyone else in the LMGT field is just as worthy a rival as the Goodsmile crew are."

I am more than happy my points scoring cars are 1 and 3. I do have to ask what the heck happened to the 36's lap?
