What's the downside of going into debt? Is there interest? Can I take out a loan now even though I have some money?

If he can do that, I'd like to sign up for that 1,337,420$ loan at an interest of just 6,9% that we talked about.
I'm just curious about the economy, I almost put something like it in my series instead of the form to get ratings, but I found it to be too complex

I know just what you mean, been thinking about implementing something similar to the point it'd basically be a remote version of the original GRID with sponsors, used cars and all. That's when you know you're trying too hard

..... Well it WAS a thought.

@Jahgee If you go broke and have no cars left WSC will subsidize your team and build you a car free of charge, but of course it will take 10 days
*Looks at schedule*

Meaning if we are out of commission at Sebring, we could very well miss the next event?! I'm either going to hate this series or love it.

Swift Autosport was spotted testing in Sebring, and Daytona. No word on lap times or anything as of right now. Hopefully more to come in the next few hours. Pictures below:

Yeah, you would miss the next event - unless you had a spare car or two.

I got the idea when Corvette started LeMans with just 1 car because the other had wrecked in qualifying and they couldnt repair it in time. Also the Bob Stallings Red Dragon Daytona crash which destroyed their car and made them miss the rest of the season.

Adds another level of tension and drama I think.

I will be making an announcement for my WSC team once I get it written out. I'm willing to answer questions relating to the series and team, so if you have any feel free to ask.

So much for that. Presser Away!

Racing Boss Glover Unveils New...Everything.
Sebring, FL- The sound of diesel engines have been growling around Sebring International Raceway this week. Today there was no engine noise, but there was plenty of sound. As items were being set up for the yet unknown press event, the media got a look at the cars that had been roaming the track, as it turns out they were Audi R18s but there was something amiss. Once the cars were placed and the podium set up, B.K. Glover, owner of NCTX Motorsports teams and driver across the racing spectrum, made his way out. Once all the press members had made it to their seats, Mr. Glover began with his speech.

"You know me, I'm a self-deprecating simpleton with anger issues who's willing to give up their spot for those wanting an opportunity, and some of that is still true.

However, I'm always looking to change some things, and it starts here and now. I know that the information you were given was vague and uninformative, and that was by design as most of what you are about to be told doesn't fit the traditional NCTX mold. In the immediate future, My entries into the Tag Heuer World Sportscar Championship are, as you have seen, Audi R18 e-trons that will race for the Prototype Championship, while we would have entertained a GT entry we believe it's time to fight for overall wins. One thing that hasn't changed is our penchant for simplistic liveries." He stops with a smirk before pulling back the veil and officially unveiling his three entries.

"The #85 will be the team's spearhead effort for the immediate future, with the #86 poised to take the reigns if necessary. #87, if we can get lucky enough to enter it, will try to win at all costs."

At this point, there were murmurs and whispers because there was something on all these cars no one had seen before, and when asked about it Glover gave a smirk.

"That is actually the biggest overall change for me. A few months ago, when I first considered a team effort, or even if I wanted to be the boss of a team, I started becoming disillusioned with the term 'NCTX', which for those who haven't figured it out is an acronym for my home area of North Central Texas. For me alone, it is fitting, but if we are to become a world class team it simply will no longer cut it. Therefore starting with the upcoming WSC season, we have decided that a name change is in order for all our endeavors. The new name, Starion Motorsports, has been recorded for series entry but the newsy bit is that there is an official logo. The "Steel Star" decal that has been spotted on liveries that our shop designs may be indicative of my preference for stars. Why stars? Because it is always stars. The steel logo is not being used by our team efforts however, so in conclusion allow me to present the official Starion Motorsports logo. Thank you for coming."

With that a projector screen is lowered and the logo was revealed:

Porsche Sport Pezzarinho Launched in Bahrain

20tqqex.jpg

Following Porsche Team claiming the 2015 World Endurance Championship in Bahrain yesterday, the team have today announced a restructuring with the successful Pezzarinho team now running 3 Porsche 919's in 2016. Part of the restructure will see all new driver pairings, announced today as well.

The Pezzarinho team have previously been associated with the popular Formula B Spec series, taking the championship in its inaugural season followed by a close fought runner up position this year. There were rumours about the teams expansion into sportscars however following their surprise entry into this years Le Mans 24 hours with Audi.

The team have retained all 6 of their full time drivers, along with giving full time roles to Le Mans 24 hours winners Nico Hulkenberg and Earl Bamber. The last driver slot has been reserved for team Pezzarinho favourite Stoffel Vandoorne, but that is subject to change should there be clashes with the yet to be announced Formula B Spec calendar.

Along with the news that the Pezzarinho team would take over the works Porsche entry, a further surprise was sprung in that the team will split up the 3 drivers who took the Championship together in 2015. Timo Bernhard will lead the charge to reclaim the championship alongside Romain Dumas and Neel Jani in the number 16 Porsche. Brendon Hartley will partner Marc Lieb and Earl Bamber in the number 17, with the number 18 machine providing Stoffel Vandoorne with the support of Mark Webber and Nico Hulkenberg as he acclimatises to sportscar racing from Formula cars.

"It's a very exciting challenge for us, something we said when we took to Le Mans in the summer." Said team principal Perry Brown. "We have some big shoes to fill with Porsche having won the championship, so the objective is clear and we must deliver.

"I'm sure that the decision to split up the champions will be called into question, but we wanted to put into place a driver development programme which should help Porsche rule the standings. The focus on the long term is why Porsche have trusted us with the works team role."

The Porsche 919 was shown off on circuit with the teams 2015 livery removed and replaced with a simple testing livery, but no word has been given about potential colours for the 2016 entries.

"It won't look this plain at round 1!"

So when I try to open the Peugeot in Gimp, I only get one layer. I tried a couple of the other cars and they worked fine, so I don't think it's a problem on my end. @Earth Does the same happen for you?

Unfortunately, thats how it is. I went ahead and made a 'lines and parts' .png image (you can find it in the 908's info in the 1st post) that mirrors some of the car's parts (not all) that you can use as a layer.

Im not sure why they half finished the template like that but the 908 was not the only one. The 991's template was in even worse shape and thats why I had to use the 997 as the GT class Porsche.

I think its possible to make a good livery, but if you want to change cars thats perfectly fine.

AMR Team GOODSMILE Reveal

l7qQhws.jpg

FUJI SPEEDWAY, Japan - After countless rumors of a already popular Japanese team entering the WSC with a legendary British brand, the Japanese based AMR Team Goodsmile have revealed their LMGT entrants for the 2016 Tag Heuer World Sportscar Series. Utilizing the Vantage GTE for their efforts, team owner Ukyo Katayama widened his scope from primarily the GT300 class in SUPER GT to the worldwide scale, carrying the Goodsmile sponsorship along with the entry.

"I am very confident we have the potential to be contenders in endurance racing. In SUPER GT, we have proven to be a staple of the now popular GT300 class. We will continue our good work into the WSC."

The three cars are adorned with the virtual diva, Hatsune Miku, on the sides, taking cues from the Mercedes entry in SUPER GT. Radical designs have been applied to the Astons, making the car one of a kind.

XzcRUki.jpg

After a narrowing down of candidates that will drive the flashy Astons, Team Goodsmile came up with 9 formidable drivers. Car number 43 will be piloted by SUPER GT stars Nobuteru Taniguchi, Tatsuya Kataoka, and NASCAR driver Kyle Busch. Taniguchi and Kataoka have won a championship for Goodsmile Racing in the past twice, making them valuable assets to the team. Kyle Busch was a surprise to be added to the team, as he has little road racing experience aside from the road courses in the NASCAR schedule.

Car number 44 is manned by D1GP drifter Manabu Orido, SUPER GT driver Takuya Izawa, and the diva herself, Miku Hatsune. Orido proved himself in both D1GP and SUPER GT, showing absolute blazing speed and car control that is out of this world. Izawa was chosen after carrying a paltry Honda effort in the 2015 SUPER GT season, being the only Honda car in the top 5 of the points. To further drive publicity, pop-star Miku Hatsune will fill the third seat, being only 16 years of age. Although she contains little experience, she will be willing to learn.

Car number 45 will be driven by Austin Cindric, Ronnie Quintarelli, and Seji Ara. Austin Cindric is a jack of all trades, and being only 18 years of age, the American has proven so much in so little time, participating in ARCA, the 12 Hours of Bathurst, Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, and in the Lites class in Red Bull Global Rallycross. Quintarelli, also known as "the Quint" is a living legend in Japanese motorsport, sporting 4 driver championships in SUPER GT. Seji Ara pilots the works BMW team in SUPER GT, but will gladly join in this Aston Martin outfit.

"Our drivers have proven to either have the right skill set to be successful, or have shown great potential looking towards the future. I think this team can get something done!" said PR manager, Pancho Garza.

With testing at Paul Ricard looming, the rather flashy team will have high expectations coming into the 2016 season.

There's always one thing that's off in any of my B-Spec teams. :P

Apart from that, the Astons are gonna look real good while we.. uh.. wait..

Correction, while *you* use the quote-unquote "waifu power" to run in circles around everything else and we smoke weed in the pits because our cars break down or crash because our drivers got crunk.

Also I hired Bonnie to do our setups again, so expect us to be about 50 minutes off pace every lap.

Edit: Just to give everyone an idea of what my cars'll look like:

I'm having trouble with the Porsche 919, but only in as much as I can't alter the paint gloss... Bit of a shame, I don't know if anyone has any experience when it comes to rFactor vehicle files, as I know how to do the Photoshop part of it (and have checked on a different car successfully, as well as running a gold car in FBS season 2) but rFactor just isn't cooperating? :(

<Message to all Team Managers>

When you send me a setup, please let me know in the private conversation. Theres no way for me to know if you sent one unless I manually open the response sheet of all 20 team managers. Also I will give you the link to the response sheet so you can view all the setups you sent me. Thanks.

1: I had no idea how I was supposed to include a third car in that image.

2: Still looking for drivers for it :D
They are your primary cars, so it's no problem. It'll bee awesome seeing all three together.

Not-Top-Gear is available for your Aston.
