An press release

Earlier this week, in preparation for the just-finished test session at the Paul Ricard HTTT, Ravenwest Aston Martin (RAM) officially reveal the liveries of their two main title contenders, after a teaser was released some time ago.

The team, which also took part in this years 24 Hours of Le Mans, albeit under a different name and came about as a partnership between Aston Martin, the legendary Ravenwest Motorsport and some person called Morten, is staying with Aston Martin in the LMGT class for the inaugural WSC, starting with the 24 Hours of Daytona in under a month.

Before the reveal, the team manager, Morten Pedersen, said following:

"So yeah, we were told that we couldn't run three significantly different liveries like we did at Le Mans, but we think we've got around it. As for the car, we know Aston Martin is usually very competitive and I have no doubt we'll be seeing an Aston on the top step of the podium at some point"

He then went on to talk about the drivers he had hired for the two cars:

"The #94 is the one partially run by Ravenwest themselves and thus they've also put together their own lineup of drivers. It's a highly competitive lineup consisting of the two McKanes who won't confirm nor deny that they're related, with Rick Scott taking the third spot in that car. None of them are very communicative, though - we might as well have three Stigs!

#95 is the one I'll be racing in myself, and I've got two very experienced drivers with me, Stellan Hansen and Cesar Maques, both former Shark Team candidates with years of racing under the belt. They may be a bit rusty right now, seeing as Le Mans was their first race in two years, but I'm confident they'll soon find their speed again."

As for the third car they've reserved, he had following to say:

"We're still looking for drivers, so if you think you have the skills required to drive it, send me an email or go to the topic on Yahoo Answers and the seat is yours - first come, first take!"

The final question answered was about why they're doing an "official" reveal after having already given it away in the teaser, to which he responded:

"1: because the teaser didn't generate enough hype for our sponsors and 2: because we can"

94:
1: Ryan McKane, USA
2: Nathan McKane, USA
3: Rick Scott, SCO

95:
1: Morten Pedersen, DEN
2: Stellan Hansen, SWE
3: Cesar Maques, BRA

96;
1: Some Dude, LOL
2: Sample Text, WTF
3: Dank Memer, GTP

I threw that setup together not having rFactor, so I think that needs to change. Surprisingly, I pulled a top 10 out of it in the #74. Work shall ensue.

Not entirely sure what your first sentence actually means, what needs to change? I think you are saying though that those at the top of the times have rFactor? I have rFactor, but it does not get used for doing any setup work. I have it obviously for my own uses, but I do run the car around a circuit (normally Brands Hatch) when doing the livery work...

Oops... Autocorrect fudged it all up. I just assume it would be easier to create a setup actually having the game and the car in my hands so I know what does what, basically.

Then yeah I kind of understood what you meant.

It doesn't help unless you play around with the setup and compare times. I won't speak on behalf of other users taking part who have rFactor available, but I certainly don't do that.

I do have rFactor, but

1: it (feels like it) is acting up a bit when trying to load the necessary mod,
2: I'm pretty sure these cars are different from the mods in terms of power/weight etc. and I have no idea how to replicate that,
3: even if both of the above wasn't a problem, I'm not the one to take an advantage from that, no matter the game. Unless of course there's a class for people who do use the game for setup tests, in which case I might go for that.

A couple of issues that will be fixed in time for the 2nd practice
- Correct team name for rallymorten's cars
- Correct spelling of YayoiGT2
- Images of fastest cars (some havent been revealed yet so I've kept them under wraps)

Porsche ran a 1'39.2 on the first day of Paul Ricard testing this year, Pezzarinho's Porsche ran a 1'39.0. Thought that was interesting

The test was quiet overall except for this one incident. Very hard hit, surprised the car was able to drive away. Of course you can ruin your cars even in practice/test sessions so the #94 was very close to being the first casualty.

Initial Thoughts
Circuit Paul Ricard High-Tech Test Track, Le Castellet, France

After making it to only mid-pack in today's session at the French testing grounds, team manager Stefano di Fiorano was not surprised by the results. "We've been focusing more on a conservative, well-rounded tune. Paul Ricard is a pretty fast track, so I'm not surprised our cars are slower down the straights. It's an inherent weakness of the Porsche GT cars, but come the first race, our team will make that weakness much more difficult to exploit."

Rena Hayami: "It's been a while since I've had any real seat time in a GT car. Aside from the one run-in I had with Emma, I'd mostly been focusing on rallying events. I'm pretty glad we could make a decent showing, though obviously I do wish the car were a little quicker down the straights. Of course, I think Stefano knows that already..."

Jack Acid: "For a team that's run by a lovey-dovey couple that won't keep their 🤬 hands off of each other, they know how to put a pretty decent handling package together. We were draggy as 🤬 though; literally everybody else went at like god:censored: light speed past us once we got down one of the long straights here. Hopefully our team won't make this a recurring joke."

Post Session Interviews and Thoughts
#43 driver, Taniguchi: "
The car was very stable throughout the test, I didn't have any struggle in controlling the car at all. That may have been the reason why we didn't place the car in first-I was getting too comfortable! Hopefully our crew can rectify that soon.

#44 driver, Izawa: "After convincing our director to not let that annoying little girl drive and let me take the wheel instead, I feel I put down some good laps. Car is very easy to drive as Nob said, but we're looking for something else."

Team Engineer, Chad Knaus: "They told me to be honest with the setup this time around and no stupid tricks or cheats. Me, cheating? Hah!"

Porsche Sport Pezzarinho unveil race liveries at Paul Ricard

The race liveries to be used by the Porsche Sport Pezzarinho cars in this seasons World Sportscars Championhip have been unveiled at Paul Ricard this afternoon. The 3 cars feature the usual blue found on Pezzarinho run cars prior to their partnership with McLaren.

Each entry is also sporting bright accents to help tell them from one another on the race track. Porsche themselves remain the title sponsor of the livery and the team, with new sponsors GTPlanet and Blackberry added to the teams partners. Mobil 1 and Michelin have also been retained.

"I'm stunned by what our design team have produced," said team owner Perry Brown. "All of the cars look striking with those bold colour choices, whilst still bringing back some of our team history with the royal blue. Now we need to make sure we can deliver the performances such a livery deserves. We have got off to a great start, but it is only day 1 so we are not getting ahead of ourselves so early into this long season."

Further images were simultaneously released on the teams website of all of the liveries and can be seen in our gallery below.

- Now that testing is complete, I will check to see if there needs to be further BOP changes by giving the fastest setup to the other cars. If the other cars are unable to replicate a similar lap, there will be BOP changes.

- The Livery Competition will be held December 20 - 27. You can finish your livery and add it as a late entry before the 27th. And you are allowed to change your vote.

- Scuderia Pergusa was randomly chosen from the field to demonstrate a preview lap of the upcoming Daytona 24 Hour Road Course. There will be a different team chosen for all 10 events on the schedule.

- Look forward to the private conversations being updated with all the information about the Daytona 24 Hours

I normally rely on rfactor central, but they don't have any.

Being the time of year that it is, I can't really commit to taking on another livery right now myself. Perhaps someone else will be able to though?

Whenever my Acer's screen decides to stop being an ass, I'll get around to getting a livery going. For now, it'll have to be put on hold (along with any request I have from other series).

Guess I should pay more attention to what is going on haha, had no idea there was another test so soon.

Though now I'm afraid to change it....

WSC Announces First Balance Of Performance Changes in Wake of Paul Ricard Tests

TplwIPe.png

Just one day after the final test in the lead up to the inaugural TAG Heuer World Sportscar Championship, changes to the balance of performance between the machines have been announced.

In the LMGT class, the Porsche 997 has received 15kgs of ballast and a 3% reduction in overall tire grip. The McLaren MP4-12C received 10kgs of ballast and a 3% reduction in tire grip.

The LMP1 class saw changes made in favor of the Lola Aston Martin DBR1-2. It received a 22kg weight break and the car's center of gravity was lowered. The car also received a slight aero upgrade.

"The changes were made after careful study of the Paul Ricard Test," said a WSC spokesman. "We expected the conversion of the GT3 cars to LMGT spec to be the most difficult task, and they certainly didnt disappoint. However I feel we found a happy medium with the new changes. Its impossible to get these cars perfectly equal, because quite simply these cars are nothing alike, different drivetrains, multiple tire manufacturers, completely different bodies, and more. Even if you got them performing exactly the same at one track, it could be a different story at another course.

Hopefully its not a season long issue and everyone is happy after the first practice session at Daytona."

The Season Opening Daytona 24 Hours is set to run January 9-10.

Boooo...hiss
On a more serious note is the 10kgs just added straight to the car? It's not positioned anywhere in particular that I would absolutely need to adjust my tune front to rear for is what I am asking.
