B-Spec Driver is losing skills?

I love B-spec. Its a lot of fun and I am grinding towards lvl 40. I however am not grinding with 24 hour races. I want to be able to use my machine for other games. However I noticed that a couple of drivers skill bars are depleting with sections colored differently than green. Anyone else having this take place?

Yup, happens to everybody. After using your drivers for a certain number of races, their experience goes to the point where their speed and strength bars have this silver bit that means the stats are lost. Note that this happens to other B-spec drivers that aren't participating in a race. As in, you have driver A, B, and C. Only driver A races but all of them progress on the experience bar meaning they all will lose stats.

It it suppose to simulate "age" in a way. Your Bob starts out a newbie, unexperienced and low stats. After racing him he gains experience and stats until he peaks. After he peaks he begins to decline until you decide to retire him and create a new driver.

Circle of life stuff i guess.

I guess Im the only one that thinks its cheezy. My driver declined after 3 weeks of playing. I spent ALOT of time picking his name and he was a fav. Not one of the many B-Spec features I like that PD implemented this go round. It happens way too fast. I wish there was an option to turn off driver aging.

I'm currently at level 37 b-spec and I have not noticed or seen this happening to any of my drivers. Never even retired a driver either. How noticable is it when your drivers stats decrease? Does it only happen when that driver gets to the next level? I have 6 drivers too. From first to last their levels are: 32, 35, 36, 36, 36, 34. The 32 guy has been here since the start but he's a colder driver so I don't use him as much.

Think Michael Schumacher in the 2010 F1 season. Hopefully he does better this year, I want to see him in the US GP in 2012!

I was under the impression that this would happen AFTER maxing out your experience/career bar. Is this not the case? I'm grinding towards the Air of Experience trophy, then I'm pretty much done with B-Spec. Already at level 40 and am only level 25 for A-Spec. Looking forward to actually enjoying the fun bits of the game after compulsively unlocking all the boring bits.

What's weird about The Air of Experience, is it says Raise a B-Spec driver to the peak of his career. So if your driver is already losing skills, wouldn't that imply that he has "peaked"?

Happened to my original guy, who did every race in b-spec, 485(b-spec and remote race wins) and completed 571 races. And he is only lvl 38 :(

Can someone who has gotten the trophy please clarify this?

I think I got the peak of experience trophy when I got my first bob to level 30. I have had to retire 3 drivers because their skills deteriorated. That started when their experience bar was about 3/4 full.

I have also noticed that stats for my first two drivers have suffered some change in the way some of their stats are displayed. Instead of a solid green bar, the end of it has a yellower background with / / / / in dark gray.

However, I know for a fact that the two drivers that have this are the only two drivers that I've let the strength and mental strength run completely to zero and continue on for multiple laps after. All other drivers' skills are the standard solid green bar for their whole skill level in all levels.

I have seen others suggest that it happens at a certain number of races, but i have a third driver who has just two less races than the first driver and has solid green bars. Again, I am certain that I've never let the third driver's strength and mental strength run down to zero while i ask him to put in more laps.

it happened to 2 of my Bobs last night with both experience bar full. one was Level 38 (166wins/22loss) and the other was Level 37 (158 wins/5loss) their speed bar was full like 2 days ago and suddenly went to 3/4 with that grey scale showing up and with no other changes on the other stat bars.
I was kinda confused and :grumpy: on why their stats deducted that much as i was prepping them up for the 24 hr. race but without much thinking i FIRED both of them!!!!

now im having regrets on why i let them go that early... :guilty:

Bob skills start to deteriorate after 400 days in game. That is to say, when you make a Bob, his skills start to drop after 400 B-Spec races have occurred. This happens regardless of how many races the particular Bob has taken place in. I know this from direct experience, because my first Bob (T. Sato) who I used solely until his 450th race didn't start deteriorating until his 400th race, but my second Bob (H. Miyazaki) started deteriorating after 120 or so races because I supplanted him with 4 other Bobs after he was created who had run a combined 400 races.

For example, if I make a Bob and enter him in 100 races, and then make another Bob and enter him in 300 races, the specs for the first Bob will start to deteriorate even though he has only entered 100 races because 400 total races have occurred since his creation, and the other Bob will be fine even though he has entered 300 races. The level of the Bob in question is irrelevant, it is (as far as I've been able to tell) unrelated to the Experience bar filling up, and it definitely has nothing to do with how you use him in races.

It does not happen with remote races for me at the moment.
Indeed in B-Spec it happens, the driver looses skills.

However in remote races you do not get any career move (so I guess the trophy is out of the question) but your skills get better and better.

My Bob's are all around 39-40 and none of them so far have started to lose skill. They've all had many races but I decided against grinding them as I like them just the way they are and I figured they could do with the glory after winning me so much money and so many cars.

well said, just as i suspected. it only started when i add my 5th Bob and he was doing 34 races in level 14 but i never factor in the combined races of the my 5 Bobs if it was over 400 but maybe it was too late, only to realize that my first 2 Bobs stats are declining. :indiff:

Now my third Bob "E. Estrada" (my favorite) Lvl 38 with 178wins/5 losses, speed stats is declining when i opted to add another Bob to replace the two.... hmmm! i dont wanna let go of him but it seems theres nothing you can do once you reached that "400" combined cap. The only difference is his stats are declining at a much lower pace than my 2 Bobs before. :grumpy:

here's my current Bobs level and win/loss ratio:

1. E. Estrada lvl 38 - 178 wins/ 5 losses -- speed stats declining
2. K. De Hann lvl 36 - 135 wins/ 3 losses -- no declining stats
3. M. Pozzi lvl 32 - 68wins/ 1 loss -- no declining stats
4. C. Mulder lvl 14 - 34 wins / 0 loss -- newbie

RIP:
1. R. Zapata lvl 38 186 wins/ 16 losses
2. B. Smith lvl 38 134 wins/ 13 losses

total races entered = 415 wins / 9 losses

i should have done the 24hr Bspec Endurance race before they hit the combined 400 race cap thus having 3 bobs at lvl 38 and one at level 36.....

well that makes sense now. because the four bob's i used to do my endurance races are not declining...but the 2 i had early on are. which really sucks because I wanted to get that pinnacle of career thing...I would've stuck with orignial bob longer and got more work out of him....because I don't think he'll make it now...

I guess this also means there is no point in having 6 bob's....4 is all you need then.

i get the age thing, got my #1 bob to L40 at 370 races and struggled to get the peak trophy, which came at 483 races for some reason. he deteriorated rapidly from race 405 on. I retired him after I got the trophy.

what made no sense was my 2nd & 3rd bob, the 3rd I only made when I got to races w/3 drivers, and only used them for endurance races, deteriorated rapidly with only 13 & 8 races respectfully. I had a hard time finding a bob for the latest bspec seasonal, even though the ir ranks where 34 & 36, both had abot 25% reduction in thespeed bar.

Edit: just read the total day post, & that makes sense for my #2 bob who I made early, but not # 3, who would have only been created at race 450 w/ #1 bob, which means #3 deteriorated after 30 or so days at the same rate asmy #2 who was around for 400+ days.

what i'm currently doing...since bob 1 doesn't need to race to gain experience, I leave him off to the side and use my other bobs. When I need to do more b-spec, I create 4 new bobs, stick them in an X1, enter then into the 9 hour endurance race, and go to bed, wake up in the morning before work and repeat...a couple days of that and they are all lvl 35+ so I can use them for the important stuff like right now, I farm the expert b-spec seasonals for cash.....30 mins...4 million with login bonus for the first one...much easier of the 2....get a lvl 36+ in a Raybring NSX, add max ballast and back off the engine power a little. I've found for the game mechanics, adding weight is better than reducing HP....at least for my b-spec drivers...

Same here. My "A" bob is topped out with the experience bar, but now my strength bar along with a few others are dropping. Showing a "slashed" colored section where his level used to be. Sucks that you have to keep cycling through and training newbies, but I guess they wanted to add more realism to the game.
