Sounds like you haven't set your bobs to "share with friends", or started the "server standby" mode from the game. Check here for all the steps you need to do.

BTW, as a general tip for all here, I tried clearing the system cache in the game, and now the game and online stuff run much faster, including starting races with the widget. If you haven't done it yet, go to:

options --> network --> clear system cache 👍

GT5 Options or PS3 Network options?
Thanks

In GT5, the game options, where all the steering wheel settings etc. are. :)
BTW I apparently had so much clutter in there, it seemed to take forever to clear it.. so don't panic if it takes 10 minutes or something.

Great, will do that shortly. Thank you.

Added: Yes, it took almost 10 minutes but...
This seems to have helped with the lag between ending a race and viewing the server online screen. 👍
Thanks again.

Yep, feels much faster to go from one menu to next, and the races load/end faster. Also going to check on the driver earnings, and receiving the prizes, are much faster now.

I did this for the first time a few nights ago. Seemed to take about 20 minutes (must've been a lot of junk in there). The following night it only took a couple of minutes.

Widget has been running better since then. 👍

Good advice, I've been having problems with lag on my system too. 👍

EDIT: Wow, that took a long time. :) Added to the Q&A on the first page.

Really? Mine took mere seconds to complete.
But I've done it's once before when PD told us to do it (several months ago). Can't remember how long it took then, but certainly not 10-20 min. Can this be because I don't race online?

Mine did nt work so well on V1.0 but the new version is spot on.
And my 1.0 is working perfectly:
Code:
03/05/11 07:54:24.232: RAW STATUS: Ready.
03/05/11 07:55:32.585: Race has started.
03/05/11 08:21:49.651: Race has started.
[COLOR=Red](around here I changed it back to long races only)[/COLOR]
03/05/11 08:28:58.933: Race has started.
03/05/11 08:50:30.538: Race has started.

My kids want to play the Lego Star Wars demo I downloaded so maybe now would be a good time to upgrade to 1.1.1. :)

I'm continuously getting this message.

03/05/11 19:12:56.284: There's nobody to race!
03/05/11 19:13:17.589: There's nobody to race!

I'm abit confused by this, there's lots of people to race with right now.

I'm still getting the "There's nobody to race!" message. Something isn't right here...

I've been manually Remoting from gt.com for a few hours and no problems.

Xenn, have you tried clearing your GT5's cache like vakie suggested earlier? I only ask as this seemed to make quite a difference in a few areas for me.

ADDED: It may take 10 minutes or more!

I'll give it a try and see if it helps. Will edit this post with results.

All is working good now, and a nice speed boost aswell. I'll definitely be using that option in the future!

I have been using this for a few hours and so far it's working great. But:
I have a 2nd account wth 1 B-Spec Driver and I have my main account aded as the only friend in the friend list, with 6 B-SPec drivers on the main account.
The 2nd account will start a race but only add 1 or 2 of the drivers from the main account.
Is there a way to make the 2nd account select all 6 of the drivers from the main account.

Ensure the 'Free Up' setting on the widget is set to '0 drivers'. I have mine set to this, and the 2nd account selects all 6 drivers from my main account every time.

1.1.1 kept telling me that there were no drivers available. I went back to 1.0 and it's working perfectly.

I am getting a TEMPORARY SERVER ISSUE remark that's causing the widget to cycle through logging in, finding drivers, etc. This is new and now it's happening in versions 1.0 and 1.1.1. I suspect my PS3 which seems to be exceedingly sluggish lately.

This is great! Thanks a lot for this widget!
I need some more friends, so if you are hosting a lot of races (like me) add me. PSN: Artemidis

Cans someone explain me the blue border and what it means?

Try clearing your GT5 cache.
