Has a feature to add the option to select certain friends to race with been suggested?
ie: you have 20 friends and want to race the Bob's of say just 10 of your friends one night and 10 the next.

yeah i would love that feature too, somehow it's still using friends that i deleted who haven't raced me at all while the ones that race me don't get selected, which is not fair...

If you've deleted friends and they're still racing you despite you not wanting them to, have you tried blocking them at your PSN friends list? Also, don't forget the Sony servers only seems to update every half hour or so.

Just updated to the 1.1.1 and have a "temporary server issue" when I launched it. Older version 1 was working all day with out a problem.
 
I get that fairly frequently as well but it recovers much more quickly. Maybe put a comment in about when the next retry will be? Like:

TEMPORARY SERVER ISSUE
Retrying in 1 minute. Retried N times. <--- where the drivers in use usually goes

This seems to happen on my account that has nearly 100 friends much more than my others with much fewer.

I got this error when I first booted up 1.1.1, I have like 9 friends.
 
im still getting the same error, i tried deleting and re-downloading everything and its the same error. can you please help me? i would love to use this but i don't i know if its my firewall or something else

I deleted some "friends" that were sharing drivers but NEVER hosting about a week ago. The widget still raced them for a few hours but never since.

I suggest it is the slow update on Sony's servers, same as adding friends takes ages to show up.

I have exactly the same issue, and 0.9 is working for me as well.
Will try 1.1.1 once more now and see how it goes.

Try out version 1.1.1. I think I got everything this time (except for the $redirect_url.replace('signout/','') thing, that's rare enough that it will be fixed in the next version).

EDIT: If you run in debug mode, you may occasionally see the Widget dump a bunch of information to the debug window when the server sends bad data 3 times in a row. It is not a critical error; the Widget wait for a bit and then will pick up where it left off after a minute. Please share that debug information as I'm trying to improve what happens in that specific error state.

Interestingly the race is starting, though.

Which line number? Are you sure you're running 1.1.1? (You can check by going to "About B-Spec Grinder" in the right-click menu)
 
Hi.. Started remote racing this morning. Then something crashed when the first race ended. Widget stopped at "loading race". I checked the ps3 and there was a message saying no events found in remote race. So i exited to restart the game. Now it takes forever to get into the game and eventually will just say network error. If i sign out of psn, the game loads fine.

On gran-turismo.com, on my remote race status says "Currently taking part in a remote race" with a blue light

Widget logs in and stops with Raw Status : Loading.

My ps3 is off (shutdown) and its still the same. My account seems stuck. Any ideas? Its been like this for the last 6 hours...

Sounds like you're having network connectivity issues from your PS3. I'd check to see if you sign back into PSN, and whether you can access the PlayStation Store, etc. Or, maybe Polyphony's servers are having trouble on the PS3 side.

All three of you are having problems with the initial connection, correct? I don't know what the problem could be. :indiff: Let's try to trace down some commonalities between your setups.

Does it work on a different computer? How many PSN friends do you have? About how many drivers do you have access to? Does it only happen during certain times of the day, or are you not able to ever log on? Which country do you have selected?

Yes, its only gt5. Ps store, web browsing and other games connecting online all as normal on the ps3.

I've also tried loggin via most of the countries on gran-turismo.com country selector and they all say the same thing.. "currently taking part in remote race.."

The Widget doesn't do anything that would prevent your PS3 from establishing a connection to Polyphony's servers. I dunno what to tell you. :guilty: Try again tomorrow, I guess.

Yeah, kinda sucks.. Sorry i cant remote bspec until pd figures out my account is stuck. I want to but i cant... 👎

About the only thing working in my account is Log, i can see my bobs are working hard. Thanks everyone.
 
Can report from my end, that I had loads of problems with 1.1, so ran 1.0 through the night, no problems. This morning updated to 1.1.1. It carried on mid-race from 1.0, and so far no problems, looks good. 👍
 
I reside in Hungary but I have a US Playstation3 and account. The widget was working perfectly using the US server till yesterday. Now if I leave it on the US server I receive this errror:

"Documents\My Widgets\B-Spec Grinder.widget uncaught exception: fetchAsync: no URL specified. Either set one in the URL.location or pass as second parameter. "


If I change to another server like the UK or Austria I receive the:

"Failed to connect to Sony servers."


I can start a remote race from us.granturismo.com without a problem. Do I have any way to fix this? Help!

Curently 15 PSN friends and 6 Bob's available.
OK, for the last 8 hours or so I've tried all 4 of the latest releases at varying intervals. I've tried numerous servers/countries and have had issues not at initial log on but at the race start. The widget shows 'starting race' then a few seconds later reverts to 'temporary server issue'. This happened many times using different countries/servers.
This morning, for no apparent reason, v.0.9 connected and ran a race after me manually selecting 'Poland'. It is now running races without issues and I will shortly try v.1.1.1

EDIT:
Ran v.0.9 for just over an hour, all was well. Replaced with v.1.1.1, had a couple of failed logins but changed server and it has loaded fine. Logged in mid-race and correct status shows in widget, will let you know how it handles end of race/start new race process.
I'm becomming more and more convinced that the issue(s) lie with the Sony servers.

Changed server to Spain, then Denmark, then UK - all the same - 'Temporary Server Issue'.

EDIT:
It eventually automatically reconnected after approx. 8 minutes of trying.

EDIT:
It is now stuck on 'Loading Race' and has been for 10 minutes or so.
Changed country to Ireland - logged in OK, loading profile OK, connecting to ps3.... PS3 had blank screen - very strange. Widget staus: 'PS3 is disconnected'.
Quit and restarted GT5
Logged in OK, Loded Profile OK, Reserving Drivers OK, Starting Race OK, Loading Rce OK. Race running - confirmed.

Race ended, Widget then reported same error - 'Temporary Server Issue'.
However, the Widget did then auto-login again and loaded new race.

(I'm finding that the shift from the end of race results screen to the Server Online screen is taking well over a minute).

OK, next end of race / new race did exactly the same 'Temporary Server Issue'.
Changed server to Denmark, starting race OK, but then OK, the same 'Temporary Server Issue'.

I'm going to try v.0.9 again.
Logged in OK, Loaded drivers & race OK, Racing Ok - confirmed (first time!).
Race ended, new race loaded, new race running - all ok.
Stopped v.0.9 in order to clear GT5 network cache then restarted v.0.9 widget and it worked like a charm first time.


Hope all this is helping.
