What car is that? It looks like it has a nissan badge and skyline rear lights. Someone clue me in!
It was the Nissan Skyline Concept car. Nissan has a concept coming 2007 just called the GT-R.

They have a car coming to the US in 2007 under the GTR badge (at least thats what autoweek said), I had heard that they were debuting a concept car sometime this year but hadnt seen it. Got any more pics?

...don´t u know GTC any more???
there was a very famous concept car, THE NISSAN SKYLINE-CONCEPT--->u could look at it in the japanese intro which u won at 100% complete of the game!:)
...so just looki and thinki a little bitti......

I don't know about you, but I find the GT-R a little repelling.

Unfornately, there are not many pics. As road and track are the only ones I have seen with a pic, but their site doesn't seem to have a pic. The only 2007 pics are of the old Skyline Concept.

...go...buy it...play it up to 100%(then u´ll get 10million credits on ur GT3-money bank---> i had about 3mio. before i played GTC and after that i got about 13(!)mio.)...and have fun with it!

by the way...u can race the cars from GT4 in this game like the Ford GT LM,350 Z LM, RX-8 LM, NSX LM, and the very beautiful lookin Skyline GTR concept LM (with 7 gears!!!!)!!!!

I like the skyline. Plus ive always felt that you don't notice how ugly a car looks when you doin 100+ mph. Any ways I'm excited to see the GTR coming to our shores. Autoweek said they are planning to compete with porsche( highly doubtful) and wants to make 400hp (I guess with 400hp you would be competeing with porsche) but this is all just corporate bull, we won't know how good it is till it's here.

well, the 2007 Skyline looks nothing like that in the game. Wait till more info about is released, then you can see a picture. It is very different from that.

Aren't all production models in Japan limited to 276BHP?

NO but they are encouraged to stay under 300hp. It is generally considered an agreement between the manufacturers that prevents them to go above 300 but it seems that is slowly unraveling. I believe you can buy an EVO with 330hp stock in the UK?

I bet you can't buy an Evo anywhere that has 300hp.
Not from the 2.0L, anyway.
C&D rated it at 271hp, and said the car was "turbocharged within an inch of its life."

The Japanese automakers have had a gentleman's agrrement for some time now.
276hp is the listed max hp.
Obviously, some cars exceeded that limit : Supra Turbo, NSX, R33/34 Skyline, 300ZX, etc.

Here is the link. It's not only 330hp but 340!

GT Concept was never released to North America so you'll have to import it and use a conversion (flip) disc to get it running (I believe). As for the Skyline Concept, there's actually quite a comprehensive thread on it in the Cars in General forum that I saw a while ago, tracking it's progress, evolution and with quite a few pictures.

Tyre sounds have improved, backfires are unknown but unlikely. I'm not going to even notice if it's absent.

the Gentleman's agreement isn't mandatory, its as simple as the name, its a number that was put up to create less HP hungry competitions and agreed upon via simple handshake, nothing legally binding.

in a way its the reason why so many Japanese cars exel at cornering and overall performance instead of just 0-60 and 1/4 mile
i guess because staying alive in the North American scene required competing with North American cars they've agreed to ignore the Gentlemans's agreement for their top of the line models

West coast customs will do it for 850.00 (I emailed them about having it done on a 02 ws6 trans am), all you have to do is push a button in the dash and walla. flames  itss sooo coolll :sly: . (dangerous :scared: but meh :dopey: ) I was expecting it to cost more like 2k or something.

You can fit a button that lets you shoot flames out of your car whenever you desire? I thought they only did that in the Middle East? That's actually worse than rice because it's quite dangerous if that's the case.

THe system you are thinking of is for self protection. Flames out of the side. I think it is also legal in parts of Africa. We are talking about flames out of the tailpipes like some racecars do when you let off the throttle. Overclocked is talking about a kit where they enrichen your fuel mixture and retard the ignition forcing a bit of fuel down the exhaust which runs in to an igniter you install.

I know they produced a range of "anti-car-jacking" cars (from BMW I think it was) that had flamethrowers fitted to the sides for use in either Africa or the Middle East, it was quite a while ago. I don't approve of Overclocked's idea.

I have a question: given an ideal world, would you want backfiring to occur? It's unburnt fuel igniting right, so that's a waste isn't it? Does it always happen with some cars or only when you do something wrong?

It happens in race cars with straight pipes. I was going to say that it was also encouraged by cars with a bit of fuel scavenging but I can't remember what exactly it is anymore. I think it is when they have the engine set so the exhaust valve is still slightly open when the intake valve opens, supposedly the vacume caused by the gasses leaving helps pull more fuel into the engine. This also sends a bit of unburnt fuel into the exhaust system. On a street car this would be caught by the cats, but instead it hits the hot exhaust system first. Don't quote me on this, I'm not 100% sure. Basically it is for wannabe racers to look cool.

for one, its not backfire...backfire is fuel exploding at the wrong time and going out the intake and is extremely dangerous. flames out of the exhaust (which is quite rare with a full length exhaust) is from letting off the gas at high rpms in a MT car and the timing gets retarded and extra unburned gas gets into the headers and burns as it goes thru the exhaust piping.

I know my dads 99 corvette pops all the time and spits fireballs sometimes, usually when he accelerates really hard, its really loud too, all he has is a shop made 3 1/4 inch exhaust, and thats it yeah he removed the cat and everything to though, (one reason im not behind the car too much)

But yeah GT-4 should have the visual effects and the sound effects i think it would look more realistic seeing as highly tuned vehicles do this also.

If you've played Tokyo extreme racer 3 you know exactly what I'm talkin about.

At least we have sparks that come out of the car when you go over curbs.....like in the Mclaren F1

...yeah...but is it sooooo much work to programme a little fire coming out of the exhaustes of (high powered-->more than 280hp/ps!)cars??
...i think when u look at the whole game and at the work the guys of PD did for it, the fire is just a simle detail which can be made hopefully!!!

True......they manage to do it in less graphically impressive games like WRC 3...so I don't see how a tiny bit of flame can come out!?

Yeah but hope fully only on fast cars or cars with racing exhaust. It would be dumb to see an untuned vitz shooting fire.

...as i said cars more than 280 horsepower....
so this includes the supercars(saleen S7,Pagani Zonda,TVR Speed 12,...)and of course all the racecars(Le Mans, JGTC, DTM, ETCC, Rally,...)!!!:)...and i don´t know about it but the F1 cars (perhaps included in GT4) could also "let it burn"!!!

My mates 5Bhp go kert could backfire, it can happen with a car of any power it's when fuel gets into the exhaust and ignites there you get flames.

But I suppose normal cars ARN'T ment to actually do that!......I don't see flames coming out of my Corsa.......although it would look pretty cool......also melt the back bumper!
