Finally got a chance to watch all them... AWESOME! GT4 looks amazing just based on that... and we still haven't even seen the full finished game yet. :)

NavyAD you rock... nice work on the vids and have to say nice work getting the Celica vid while driving with 1 hand!

Like the subtle changes to SS5... looks more polished. Hope that we get the "wet" one as well as a raceable track and not just a license test as in GT3 (don't know why they do that... Rome in GT2 anyone?).

Lastly I was going to wait to get my DFP the same time as my copy of GT4, but now i'm thinking the wheel and subsequent cockpit needs to be started ASAP so we're all set to go when the game finally comes out (that should give me about a year to complete my cockpit ;) )

Great video NavyAD.....but I didn't see the backfire..... :indiff:.....but ofcourse lets not get picky......

Off Topic......now that I think about it....wouldn't it be great if they would bring that freaken bad ass Cerumo One Supra (JGTC) damn I love that Supra....
*CDMA ONE Cerumo Supra GT (JGTC)'00 (Don't know if I'm seeing things, but looks like that is backfire coming out of the Cerumo ONE Supra's rear exhaust...hope I'm not seeing backfire everywhere now... :scared:

I sort of thought all the Supra (JGTC) had the exhaust in the same place.....guess not but they do have only one in the left side.... :sly:

Beautiful video! Gotta love that tunnel! Very TXR3!
I can see NavyAD received lots of virtual G during cornering
so how does it compare to Daytona 2 arcade machine?

GILLET> I think they have different spec each year ... so the exhaust location may change as well

for the rims, look closely at 2:53, it looks like a 2D texture on curved polygons, prove me wrong cause I wish it is 3D too ~

In fact, the "bonnet view" is not an interior view : the camera is just on the top of the car ...

I know. All I want is the bonnet like in Toca. But judging from that video the bonnet view is even better in GT4. Not just a blob like in Toca.

What 3d rims? I dont see any 3d rims.

Yeah, gotta agree there.. The images aren't clear enough to tell if the rims are 3D. In fact, I'd say it's a safe bet they're still 2D, for a very simple reason. Motion-blur cannot be added to 3D rims in-game. The blurring wheels we're used to seeing in GT3 are actually swapped textures.. the map of the rims is swapped out when the car passes a certain speed, replaced with pre-blurred textures to give the appearance of speed. Even GPL on the PC does this, and that game's older than dirt.

Depending on whether motion blur ends up in the replays or not, we may see 3D rims in replays, but probably not while we're actually driving.

games that have featured fully modelled 3d wheels in the past have cheated as well. They simply swap in a different set of textures depending on the speed that they're rolling. PGR2 had varying levels of success with this (some of them changed from chrome to flat, ugly paper). Rallisport 2 and GTR have done it the best.

I agree with you there.....but as I may recall the replays when the cam would get so close to the rims.....they look ugly....that's one thing they have to work on.......and I'm doubtful they got it right this time around....hopefully atleast with the PS3 technology they would surpass that ugly 2D rim...praying as well.....but yea back to what Jedi...said the rims will be 2D when in action.....and ofcourse when your in the car selection menu...they look so awesome.......

heh didnt anyone notice in the first video that the wall would just disappear? :dopey:

Well thanks for clearing it up NavyAD.........so are you trying to state.....that the rims when in action are no longer the nasty ugly paper looking things......and are now 3 dimensional figures......ooooohhhh!!!!!!....
:scared: hope your right.......

Anyhow when will you be going there again?!?!.........In a few minutes???.....
No I'm kidding...........

Edit: Hey NavyAD is that the video in which you supposely caught the backfire off the Weds Sports Celica (JGTC) car???? Anyhow, is that the only video you get on your last visit....or..... screenshots.???

Edit: Actually two barriers dissapear....but the other one is like a few more seconds forward.......

NavyAD, these forums are alive again with the excitement over GT4, thanks to your videos. ;)

You've provided an invaluable service to us. Thank you.

Damn PD is good. Ok, we got 3drims now. Backfire now. All we need for gt4 so it can be the definite business is Le mans, and maybe day to night change in the 24 hour races. Ferrari would be lovely and maybe reverse lights. Reverse lights really dont matter to me but they'd be nice. porsche doesnt need to be in imo since we got ruf and ruf has a supercar that might be the answer to the carrera GT. I'm not worried about the AI now. I have heard some good things about the AI in the Japanese demo released recently. I hear the AI is fast and mean but the cars still hit you, if pd can fix that, then it's all good. I'll wait through the months for online gt4

I think it depends on their "1-5" setting as to whether they'll hit you. In one of the vids in the "Japanese Demo" thread, you can see the Viper push the player's car off the track, but just a few seconds later, the second-place car actually took the outside line through a corner to avoid hitting the player's car while he passed. And as soon as he was past, it moved in behind him smoothly, without touching him. The video is quite clear, and rather amazing.. I don't recall GT's AI ever purposefully avoiding a collision before.

I have heard on the scea board, which I know you know about that the viper and vette actually crashed on the Nurb. 3rdgenxracer reported that. I think that's very interesting because the AI of both cars had to make the mistake on their own. I can't wait to see the AI in the final game when PD irons out the wrinkles :) but even if PD does do decent AI, the cars in the field will need to improve. I mean, a GT300 car gong against 2 touring cars which are slow, 2 lm racers and a 24 hour race car? That's not realistic imo. Instead, the field should consist of 4 lm cars and 2 gt500 cars. I hope in arcade mode, we can pick the cars we want to race against. Imagine a race on the capri between a C60 and a LMR! How insane would that be?

And since the pipe of the supra(assuming that car is the supra) is on the side, nos would be useless.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. WTF? Do you even know how nitrous oxide works? OMG don't tell me you think that a giant flame coming out of the tailpipe magically produces enough thrust to assist in PUSHING a car forward. All of a sudden the reciprocating piston engine becomes a turbine engine? LMFAO HAHAHAHA. Yes if you put nitrous oxide on a car with sidepipes on one side it'll spin the car around in circles. LOL. OMG that was just too funny. And yes cars equipped with nitrous oxide automatically spit flames. AAAAAAAHAHAHA.
