Don't you think it odd that PD forced ASM on in the NASCAR special events?

With it off i becomes a doddle, almost as if they wanted to artificially make NASCAR harder some reason.

Here is my list:

Online rooms should be sorted by ping time.
Online room list should show event rules.
Online rooms should allow any car to be selected, not a small list of 'recommended' cars.
Online should have classes of cars so hosts can easily restrict races to a group of cars (right now it is a little bit guess work).
Online needs to display more information like who set the best lap time.
Online room list needs more sort options, like sort by car selection, race type etc.

...and so much more I cant think of right now.

Online rooms should allow you to ues custom tracks...

Is this true, Kaz is not using a laser equipment? I thought that this would already be a standard in the industry. Do you have a source available, were PD developers are explaining their method? But this could also explain why I cannot feel the road...

I dont have a source on hand, although I seem to remember hearing it on a previous episode of ISR, Im pretty sure I had also read it in an interview. While I cant link you to where I learned this at the moment (I havn't slept in over 60 hours ) I do remember being completely shocked and lost for words when I did learn it. When I get a chance I'll try to track down where this information came from and get back to you with it.

oh here's something new.... another post for complaints.... geez guys... how many different colours are you going to paint this????? (oh wait you're limited with yr paint.. that's right... my bad) when they say this is it... no more updates... patches... DLC etc... then post away all your complaints in multiple threads... right now it's just hot air. it really is time to take a chill pill... are any one of you willing to set fire to your disc and cook marshmallows??? didn't think so...

I know the game is far from perfect but all this constant non contructive whining is just ott....

Thepoint is you cannot get your money back if you do not like the purchase.

Sony have their money - we have a an INCOMPLETE product.

We are the losers in this deal.

We are well entitled to voice complaints and opinions - it is all we have - we are out $50 to $100 and again, have an INCOMPLETE product.

If they only charged us $20 and then said the "fixes" would cost $1 each, that would be a different story.

Can u read? He said Gt is dying, I said sales show otherwise, never once mentioned anything about quality.................. Anyone who thinks Gt is dying needs to see a doctor.

Spoken like someone with Gran Turismo-tinted glasses on.

Gran Turismo is dying. Your post highlights that. Touting sales figures while ignoring quality is a just the tip of the iceberg.

pathetic damage model, Online is incredibly bare, no rewards, no credits or progression system, Ai is terrible, Lack of events mean you have to grind in SP, cars too expensive, Standard cars look like ps2 cars, Weather is barely in any races, no classification system means you can win most races just by using a faster car........................ If you cant see flaws, then LOL.

Those arent flaws, those are suggestions. Having weather in this game no matter if it isnt in all of the tracks is not a "flaw". And I havent heard anyone criticize the cost of the cars.

Can't help myself, Gran Turismo's thousand tiny little niggles have irritated me to the point where I've got to post on a forum!

Anyway, along with the dozens of other major complaints (online/lack of content/paint/copy protected saves etc.) I thought I'd throw up a couple more:

Since when was a Bugatti Veyron considered to be a hot hatch? That race (and a few others) have been rendered an absolute joke as they've been incredibly lazy in setting up race restrictions

Secondly, the Deutsche Touring Car championship looks like it would be a great series. Its just a pity that the cars are extortionate and only show up on the 2nd hand car market once in a blue moon! Surely if you're going to devote an entire championship to a type of race car, they should be available as Premium cars and purchased at any time! Now I've got to wait until I have enough money to buy one and hopefully that will coincide with the rare occasion a DTM car becomes available. Also would it be too much of a stretch to hope that that one car when it's available, happens to be the one that I actually want!?

You can buy a lexus touring car for 750k and enter it. You should actually read the list of eligible cars before complaining imo.

IMO you should probably read my post properly before sounding off. Out of 14 cars eligible for DTM there is only ONE available to buy brand new and it's not even German. Or a Touring Car for that matter -hell, it doesn't even have race livery so as far as I'm concerned shouldn't be out on the track. I've still yet to see the Red Bull Audi TT reappear on the market, nor any of the beamers and mercs. They turn up once in a blue moon!

If Polyphony want to have prestige race events in the final stages of the game they should have at least gone to the effort to make the cars required, available.

So you're chastising the guy for not realizing a JAPANESE car is eligible for a GERMAN car race? How can you really blame something like that on a customer, someone who just forked out $70 for a chance to enjoy a game. He didn't buy it so he'd have to play 20 questions, guessing that Deutsch also means Japanese when it comes to Polyphony.

........

it is listed under the tab entry requirements...........

also if you read the history of the car it was developed for the German touring car series originally but for some reason never raced. So it does make sense the car is eligible.

You haven't been paying attention very well then.

Most cars in the game are very realistically priced, its just the older/special cars that cost ridiculous amounts of mullah. :indiff: Really makes it hard when you have to have these 20 mil cars for a race.

What 20mil car do you need for a race?

Most I have had to spend is 4.7mil for the formula GT.

If by "most cars in the game" you mean "most of the Premium cars in the game." Because nearly all of the cars in the Used lots are at least twice as much as they should be.

So a car is eligible because it was "going" to race DTM, but never did. Really? So F1 2010 should have included Porsche because they are interested in racing F1?

And how do you expect the average player to know Lexus was considering racing DTM? I know it tells you in the car description, but who in their right mind would say "I'm looking for a DTM car... why don't I look through some of the Japanese cars"

Well. I clicked entry requirements and it was the only car that was made after 07 so I went over to the Lexus dealership and bought it.

But I guess I am not an average player.

The price is one thing, resale value (including added value for upgrades) is ridiculous.

Well, I don't know about you but if I'm competing in a championship that's based on a real world event, I expect all the cars to be of the kind that actually compete - i.e a full grid of liveried race cars, not 11 liveried race cars and a plain black modded-up foreign concept car.
I didn't bother reading through the entry requirements as one would assume that after reading the Typical Opponent list you'd be expected to buy similar . It's kind of like the European Hot Hatch shenanigans where apparently Ferrari's, Veyrons and Jaguar XJ220s could be considered 'hatchbacks'. Yeah, you can run them in the race and obliterate the opposition but it's not really racing, and it doesn't look very good on the replay.

Look at the entry requirements for the European hot hatch competition. Any European car can enter it.

Also that Lexus would have raced in real life if they had decided to make it. But they didn't so its a concept car in the game. If that ruins your immersion or whatever then just wait for a car that you approve of to show up in the used car dealership, but dont fault the game for not giving you a premium car to buy when one exists.

.

That's my point! How can you have a european hot-hatch competition if any european car can enter it? If I had the cash I could buy a Ferrari F2007 and race that in it. I know it should come down to personal choice as to whether you want to play honestly or not but when you're in the early stages of the game and you're trying to rake in as much cash and XP as you can, the temptation to enter a race series in something horrendously overpowered rather than fork out for a new hatchback, is just too much.

I'm not sure if the lack of restrictions on race entry is a PD decision or an oversight but it certainly detracts from the game. Which is what this thread is about.

Things that I do not like about GT5:

- At Daytona, there is no Flagstand at the Start/Finish Line (Same Problem exists in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue). 👎

- Also at Daytona, the Fences along the outside wall were never updated to reflect the current changes of the track at the beginning of 2010. 👎

-Car Damage isn't as realistic as it should be. I understand that it is "a work in progress", but for the lack of damage available is unacceptable. :ouch:

- Many tracks from the previous GT games were removed (for example: Infineon Raceway). PD should be building off of the successes of the previous GT games, not dumping them into nonexistence. 👎 :grumpy:

The lack of a colour pallette and wheel-changing of standard cars are the greatest disappointments I've confronted yet. They really need to change both with a patch.

@ Trini: Was does the term 'grinding' exactly mean as you use it?

I have played (and payed 59.99 for) many games that didn't have what I thought were going to be in the game or things that I was hoping to be in a game. Not to mention actual shortcomings, such as lets say Modern Warfare 2, where the campaign mode is extremely short, or any number of games that have actual problems with gameplay, online, graphical, etc... However, these problems don't mean the game wasn't worth the $60, or that the game wasn't complete. When building a game, I am sure, certain things end up having to be left out and if Kaz could make it perfect, I am sure he would. But to say that the game is incomplete or that it is worth $20 is wrong. It may be worth only that much to YOU and that is fine, but you didn't have to buy it. You could have waited for reviews and looked on here, then made your decision. But you didn't and that is fine too, but because it has a few things you don't like and may be missing a few things doesn't mean it is incomplete, or that it is worth nothing. I for one, will get my $60 worth of this game, and probably already have. I payed the same amount for many other games and like this one more for the same price. Doesn't mean I wouldn't change some things about it, but it does mean that it has value.

Used cars are worthless, but in reality you should be able to buy a car, do a couple of races where it is eligible and then sell it off for a slightly lower price than you paid for it. But here the price drops to a tenth by just putting it into your garage.

Whoever thought this scheme out should be made to play GTA IV for a year as punishment.
