Hope its not too long to wait now until the first January patch. The new Bipod and vaulting imrovements should be in there, And there needs to be a fix and a retroactive compensation for company coin introduced.

Wouldnt mind the first weapon balance pass aswell.
Yeah Medic was my favourite class in BF1 but I hate it here. The vast majority of battles happen at long range so I just sit there helpless with my SMG.

Thoughts and wants for weapons they could add? I know we all want the big ones like the M1, PPSH-41, M3 Grease Gun, Mosin Etc. What others?

What i would like to see, One of each weapon type -
  • Pistol - Type 94 nambu. Known as one of the most dangerous weapons ever made due to a defect that could happen to fire the weapon without pulling the trigger.
  • assault/semi auto rifle - M1941 Johnson. Unsuccessful competitor to the M1. Although a lot were still made and used.
  • Submachine gun - Mas 38. Very short and compact french SMG. Used a similar vertical bolt travel design to the modern Kriss Vector to lower felt recoil.
  • Light Machine Gun - Degtyaryov DP28. WW2 Tachanka?
  • Bolt Action - Mannlicher-Schonauer M1903. Bolt Action with radical rotary Magazine design.
  • Shotgun - Ithaca 37. Very popular american shotgun often used without a buttstock.
  • Anti tank - Panzerschreck or American M1 Bazooka.

Hard to pick out many unique things since everything was so similar, and DICE has covered just about all the major weapons that can be different enough already. I'm sure we'll get a lot of the big ones with each new factor, as stated above, but I was suprised to not see the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) in the game at launch. Toss up if that would go in Support or Assault; could be a nice competitoto the STG-44.

I would like to see some more sidearms (that could really use a buff, DICE!), preferably ones like the Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless, whichis already pretty similar to the Ruby, but I loved the thing in BF1, and the C96, which desperately needs a buff compaired to BF1. A "Boys Anti-Tank Rifle" could be an interesting change of pace compaired to the Panzerfaust or the PIAT.

Would be neat to see some cosmetic changes with new factions, too. For example, if the USSR was added, their incendiary grenade could be reskined to a molotov cocktail, lit rag and everything.

Most of those things will get added because they were in BF1. Data miners found loads of weapons in the BFV files and a lot of them were old BF1 weapons. I hope they dont get lazy and just reintroduce mostly BF1 weapons... I kind of dissagree that DICE have used a lot of the intresting WW2 weapons, Theyve hardly scratched the surface in my opinion. All of my suggestions i chose mainly because they were slightly different and intresting in some way and not neccassarily an obvious choice.

After extensively using the M1A1 Carbine trying to finish off assignments--I am at the point of needing a bunch of aim down sight kills while defending an objective and a number of headshots in one round--and not making as much progress as I would like, I have switched to the Turner SMLE. I have been wanting to try out the other semi auto rifles, but wanting to complete M1A1 assignments has prevented me from doing so. Other than the horrid stripper clip/individual round reloads, which will not be an issue after unlocking the detachable magazine specialization, the Turner SMLE seems to work very well.

I like the Ag m/42 from the first tides of war. Like you i got fed up of using the M1 so i went to this. Very similar feel to the M1 with less rounds in the mag but slightly more range. You definitely need the detachable Mags specialisation as the standard reload is horrendous just like the Turner.

I have not used the Ag m/42 much yet. I am giving it a go tonight and see how I like it.

EDIT: I ended up switching back to the Turner SMLE. The Turner's extra damage is noticeable. I may have to use the Ag m/42 some more and give it a better chance. However, until I get closer to the point I was with M1A1, I am going to stick with the Turner.

I may have changed my opinion on the Turner SMLE specialization. While I really like the detachable magazine, the extended magazine is a nice option.

I love the Turner with the extended mag. My issue with the detachable one is that, with my xbox elite controller, I have to turn my trigger lock off which I ALWAYS forget to do until I need to fire and thus get killed

What’s everybody’s impression on the update?

-I feel like the time to kill has increased.
-seems smoother. Still not BF1 smooth though
-seems easier to see enemies

It does seem a little easier to see enemies which is nice for me because I am not the greatest at shooters. It does seem to run very smooth, but I can't really compare to BF1 as I didn't really play it. TTK still feel good to me, I don't think it has been increased, and if it has, it's not by much IMHO. The TTD is great though. I almost have a chance to fire back or get in cover, or at the very least, tag the direction for my squad.

I think I like the extended magazine better. It comes with improved hipfire, which surprisingly is half decent.

The combination of ten extra rounds and improved hipfire is awesome. The only real downside is the longer reload, but that can somewhat be mitigated with not reloading as often and trying to maintain increments of five before hitting reload. I really like the Turner SMLE and am looking forward to the MAS 44.

Speaking of upcoming weapons, I have finished all of this week's Tides of War challenges. The ZK-383 is pretty good from the little I have used it. I need to spend some more time using it and unlocking the specializations.

Has anybody had an issue with Special Assignment 'We are Ready', awarded after Chapter 11 in Lightning Strikes, not appearing in their list of assignments?

I just unlocked it but it is nowhere to be seen.

EDIT
It just randomly appeared. Thankfully!

I had an issue with it not showing initially. Closing the game and reopening it solved the problem. I also believe I may have read there was an issue with the assignment not showing up and the fix was to close and reopen the game.

Finally got around to unlocking the ZK 383 tonight. Haven't tried it out, but I had a swuad in Squad Conquest go down behind cover right next to me. Nice wuick wayto get 30% of that challenge done.

Been working on some of the War Stories, too. On the last missions for Under No Flag and Nordlys. Finished Tirailleur abut a week ago and The Last Tiger last night, the latter being my favorite so far. Have to say, these are pretty weak, even compaired to Battlefield 1, and I absolutly despise "one-man-army" stealth missions in Battlefield games. Really hope they go back to the Battlefield 3/4 style of campaign next time, or scrap singleplayer altogether.

Playing some variation of one man army is the reason I have only played one or two of the War Stories. I know I have finished all of Under No Flag, but not sure I have finished Nordlys. Thinking more on it, I think I finished Nordlys also and started Tirailleur. When I found out it was another one man army, I stopped playing it. I have not even considered giving The Last Tiger a go because I assumed it would be the same.

It has been an uneven couple of days. At times, I have been playing pretty good and at others, dreadful. I have recently changed my mouse, but do not want to attribute my performance to that. The new mouse is lighter than the old one. I might need to adjust the in game sensitivity down.

After using the ZK-383 for a bit and enjoying the weapon, I have switched to using the MP 28. The hipfire is quite nice on the MP 28, while aiming down the sights not so much. I might switch back to the ZK-383.

EDIT: Early results on lowering in game sensitivity have been positive.

Re installed bf4 last night oh the joy, certain parts of bf5 ive really enjoyed certain parts left me bitter, i cannot see myself playing this game for another 2 years. Loving 4 and 1 again, hopefully new maps on 5 spike my interest

I still play 4 once in a while, it has lots of things that annoy me but it's my favorite of the BF series thus far. Haven't bought BF5 for various reasons.

I saw the news the other day about how Battlefield V sales performed disappointingly in the eyes of EA and what was interesting was they put this down to the focus on single player. I guess I'm old skool but I think it sets a dangerous trend that developers or publishers might keep pushing for online functionality till the notion of single player is extinct. I guess that's what sells with the gaming market today but it's still a shame imo.

It's down to lack of content, poor marketing, pushing gender politics in this game and telling people if they don't like it, then don't buy it. Well hurr durr EA, looks like it's not selling well! Apparently it had worse sales than Hardline, which is the worst Battlefield title in the series.

IMO, the Battlefield series has not had a great single player, with the exception of the Bad Company games of course. I hope that they continue to support this game for as long as possible. I'm really enjoying the hell out of it

Lack of content is huge, we have a platoon of 50 people, with bf1 any given night we had 12 to 15 people playing, 2 of us in the last week played it then went to bf1 other people jump on when bf1 is on.
I like bf5 i do have fun playing it ,but my gripe is it had the potential to be brilliant, but instead we got a rushed half finished game.
Would love if they remastered 4

Ive just stopped playing since the update. Lost any conviction to play whatsoever. I enjoyed the game but its just missing the BF feel of BF4/3 and even BF1. Ill probably leave the game until there is another big update or something worth coming back for. Better maps, And the introduction if the US, Soviet Union and japan hopefully will be what brings me back.

I am still enjoying the game, but I do not find myself playing it quite as long as I did BF3/4. Some more maps would help. I will continue playing the game because I do enjoy it, except when I get paired with bad team after bad team (that is a complaint I had with BF3/4 too though).

Well i have gone back to BF1. Gave 5 a chance. Not fun at all. Lack of maps and getting constantly killed us no fun at all.

Content is a little lacking, but having a couple of friends to play with makes a world of difference. I've got a squad and when we play, we just shoot the **** and play around. I haven't really played a BF game since 3, although I did play a good chunk of the single player for hardline.

Side note, I think the slug perk for shotguns got changed recently. I was straight murdering people with the M1897 with slugs last night. Such a great feeling to get a headshot kill with them from range
