Beater or Sleeper? GT6 Car of the Week Thread

By ended you mean out of production?
More street cred than Paul Walker?
So it has to be Japanese as he was an import guy mostly.

Well we've already driven one of cars which probably got more street cred than him and it was an absolute turd to drive.

I'm just guessing its a Nissan of some kind.

Wait...
If it's a Nissan, and you can't take the roof off... Could it be the Nissan EXA Canopy?

Or we could be barking up the wrong tree and look like colossal idiots when McClaren shows up with the right car and a smug grin on his face. :P
Like this one?

Well if you're talking about ended and Paul Walker in the same sentence, the first thing that comes to my mind is crash and burn. Since we don't have the Pinto, I googled cars that crash and burn and it comes up with the Tesla Model S... that's my guess!

Cheers

Well, if it is a Lotus, and it has street cred, it can only be the Carlton. Stolen so often, the bane of the entire English Police force, I'd say that counts as street cred.

Crap, foiled again. At least now I know there is an Espirit in Pretty Woman, thanks to you.

Wait, what if it is only a Lotus by relation and not by name? Could it be the Isuzu Piazza!? That had "Lotus handling"... And it was a child of the '80's.

Congratulations Niku Driver HC!

Indeed, this week's car is the 1981 Isuzu Piazza XE!

Almost funkier than George Clinton, and thanks to the ties with Lotus and the fact that it was designed by the same guy responsible for the DeLorean and Lotus Esprit, it's got more street cred that Paul Walker. Easily!

Well done, Niku!

There were better pictures than the ones above, but thanks to GTP's decency rules and the exposed nipples and other bits, cannot be posted here. Don't thank me, thank GTP.

I freakin' nailed it! I am the king of guesses! Bow down before my might! :D :mischievous:

Your challenge was indeed strong, Mr. Mclaren, but I defeated it with hard work (and correct thinking). Thank you, Isuzu, for proving me right. Who's grinning now, huh? :sly: Also, one more image for the road:

Ok, I think I bragged enough. Time to have a drive with a Lotu... er, I mean Isuzu.

I'm sitting here reading the Car Info screen for the Piazza and wondering why GT6 included this version of the car but not the '84 turbo spec or '88 Lotus spec versions. Definite head-scratcher...

In my Laguna Seca stock test on CH tires, it ran a best time of 2:01.890 which puts it in the middle of a Toyota Vitz sandwich.

2:01.703 - 342 - Toyota Vitz RS 1.5 '00
2:01.890 - 349 - Isuzu Piazza XE '81
2:02.030 - 332 - Toyota Vitz RS 1.5 '07

The '81 Celica is almost 2 seconds faster, but it packs a 2.8L V6 while the Piazza uses a 2.0L I-4.

Piazza
2.0L
132 hp / 6,000 rpm
123 ft-lb / 5,000 rpm
1,190 kg (2,624 lbs)
349 PP

66 hp/L
19.9 lbs/hp

Verdict: Beaterrific

C'mon Suzuka, you should already know the answer to that: Because PD, of course.

Also, "Beaterrific"? Does that mean the car is garbage or good?
