Can we please quit with the police attitude? So somebody says something off topic. Or spells something wrong. Why does it matter? It's not like the "offenders" are trying to tear the club apart from the inside; they do things with good intention, but make a mistake. Hardly worth playing "holier than thou".

Terms of Service
You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.
Have you read the Terms of Service? There are a number of accounts of him having a run-on sentence instead of using punctuation, even if it's short replies. It's also an annoyance to those who likes proper grammar.

The off-topicness is only fine for a few posts. If it goes on to close to half a page, then it's annoying. Some people don't want to read any post that's not being related to the origins of the thread at hand. Not trying to be mean and blunt; it's just how it is.

Yes, I am very aware of the AUP's position on grammar. But it's not as if his posts are completely illegible. Perhaps English is not his first language. We have to be considerate. It's one thing to correct grammar mistakes from time to time; it's a whole 'nother ball game once you start "playing mod". If I recall correctly, someone here almost got a warning for that not too long ago.

As for the OT, I personally think that friendly discussion is imperative to this club. Without it, we would all be pissy and disagreeable and the club would die. As of late, it seems as though the members of this club are in a constant struggle for faux power. I think that stemmed from the moderator system from WHaT's club. With all members supposedly on a level playing field here in A&B's crew, I'm finding that the former moderators are trying to return to that level of power. And I don't see that ending well. Actually, that's why I'm not as active as I used to be. It's starting to feel more like a strict, business-like official racing league than a friendly, relaxed club.

But I'm sure I'm in the minority.

One person talking about himself and nobody understanding what they're saying isn't a discussion in my opinion.

I'm fine with some off-topic posts here and there. Just don't go overboard.

That someone is DBeav, and that warning got repealed. Not only is it an annoyance to some grammar sensitive people, but it can be an annoyance to an official mod. And who's "playing mod"? The administrators of this club, the ones who controls the rules here and is trying to keep this thread according to GTPlanet ToS standards? And correcting grammar mistakes from time to time? It's not from time to time; I've been seeing mistakes in nearly every post, but I haven't said anything about it (look at the Depression thread for the reason of my inactivity) because it wasn't up to me to dictate how he posts. He's responsible for himself on how his posts, and whatever consequence that follows afterwards happens.

A friendly discussion is nice, but it's not really of place to do that here on the original club thread. Would you like to come back to one alert, most of which are off-topic posts and pertains nothing to making a lobby or giving a status update about it? I sure wouldn't. I've suggested using a separate thread made by KingJosh for that in a previous club, and it got rejected. Oh, and I hope you do remember the last time what happened when the club thread got off-topic too much- we attracted the official mods attention and got close to getting the thread locked. I also don't like you lumping all of the former mods for trying to gain power; I haven't said a word about gaining power at all, and I was a former mod. GT916 isn't trying to gain power. Beef is more of trying to gain slips rather than gain power (you better work that pole for them slips Beef), and WHaT is undefined to me. At least they're active (I'm not; GT6 has gone waaay too stale even with Sierra).

But you do have a point that this club is being more strict, business-like official. Allow at least a few shenanigans, and remember that almost no one follows the actual speed limit in real life. DBeav, you're certainly guilty of this, I am as well, and Ameer, when you drive after a few months, you're gonna fall into the same trap.

We've been cruising for about 1 1/2 - 2 years now.
And within that time, you would get to know your members, at least a few of them, and know their behaviors and tendencies. I don't cruise 24/7; there's a time where you have to get a little... something or else you'll feel caged up, being tired of having to do this or that.

I'm not saying you should do this or that, but some form of non-offensive criticism should be nice.

I've said this before. This is a club. This is not a "420 reel cruise bs=kik" lobby. We are a serious club with rules. I will try to lighten up with the strict-ness. I'm just trying to keep things in order.

And about the speed limit subject @Aki Ishikawa - I never go the speed limit in real life (shhh). In GT6, I do the same thing. I do about 5-10 over and occasionally give it some gas. Everyone speeds. Where were we going with this?

Well that was a good and long read, I don't feel like I should say anything bout this. But I will say something about the speed limit thing. I cruise 89% of the time when I do cruise it makes me feel really tried and just about puts me to sleep. I feel speeding up and joy riding is fun when you alone where you're not bothering other people.

I'm only referring back to the last time I was in a lobby with the "police helicopter" tactic being used.
*Does 67 miles an hour in a 65*
"Slow down, (yer not me)"
*Does 100 kmph in a 50 mph*
"SLOW DOWN (I know you can't catch me)"
Making everybody go that speed limit is only going to cause frustration and aggravation. Have a little bit of leeway.

Some cops are lenient, some cops are strict. Like police officers in real life.

We usually only use the Helicopter if we know that 13 out of 16 people are doing twice the speed limit, which leads to complete aggravation and frustration to the cops. 13 racers vs 3 isn't fair at all. There's a difference between going 2 over the limit and doing twice the limit.

Is this all about me? Im not a straight English speaker but I fix my grammar every now and then you know? Also I was just saying that I wouldn't be able to play because of my sprain no off topic there? I'll just let you guys decide what to do with me, Fair Enough?

Just say that you won't be able to join a few rooms because you sprained something or hurt whatever next time. Much more simple and straightforward.

Just for the record, I'm not saying make it a free-for-all. But I do think a lot of us are taking this wayyyyyy too seriously. This isn't WRS; the amount of structure should reflect that.

Lets have fun. Just stop discussing who's not doing what in that proper way after all isn't this just a game?
