Professional Hall, World Classics

Finally got a 200 pointer at the 'Ring! :D

I used the BLRA with N2/N3 @ 102 Hp (Semi, Chip, No oil). Set the NOS @ 75 and added 80 Kg ballast, against;
Alfa GTA, C1 Vette, Alfa GSS, Duetto and the SL300.

The Benz started out P5 and was the main opponent, followed closely by the GTA. Tried to avoid getting double teamed on the straights by forcing them to the grass. What surprised me was that it was easier to keep them close behind for the back straight and just drive with the rear view mirror. If I got too far ahead, the SL would come flying up and was harder to block.
Really good racing! Report pending.

Wow, I just watched this video, dont understand how I missed it.
Some serious blocking going on there. Ive done the same race but gave up after I was passed. Did you still have NOS left after the AR took 1st ?
and you manage to catch up as well.
Kudos to you. Would love to know your set up and where you used NOS and when it was empty.

I ran this like 5 times, eased up to 200 pts, got the feel of the track, etc. First 4 times, it was the Saleen in my rear view. The last race, for 200 pts, it was the Ford GT on my bumper. this maybe 2nd or third line up, through all I ran same line up, was very surprised to see the Ford when it bumped me.

Oh, equip NA2 to get this car in race, then remove.

When racing the FF Challenge, in Begginer Events, with the VW Lupo 1.4, only managed to win when using NOS... and granted 200pts in each race!!! :yuck:

Lineup #8 is also a good one to use with the above car if you can keep the Toyota 2000 GT & Elan behind you.

Winning this for 200 nicely cleans up this series too.

Hey that's a good one !! Well done to you.👍 👍

Anybody have a non-RAM setup for beginner 4WD? I've been scouring the used and manuracturer lots for a car in range of the target (can't find a celica matching the description?). The only cars that have low enough power without downgrades have about 60hp which won't cut it without massive upgrades (or even with?), so I'm looking for something drivable on N1/N2 that can get the points. Best match I've found so far is the VW Bora 4Motion on N1 with nearly maxed ballast, but I haven't actually taken it out to see if I can compete yet...

There's a pretty sizeable hp gap in 4WD cars between the bunch at 60 and the much larger group at 275 where the subarus, skylines, & lancers kick in... the mid range guys I know of so far are the honda odyssey & element (at 180ish hp), and the VW (at 200hp). Ideas?

Ah, hadn't read through that - it's a nice reference, Thanks.

Edit (3/18):
Beginner - 4WD
Did manage the 4WD w/ VW Bora 4Motion with N3, max ballast, and NOS. It can go for 200 in all races, but is fairly lineup-dependent - RS200 or RAM in the lineup were immediate no-gos. The Clix, RS6, and '82 Quattro were all beatable as long as I got ahead and didn't give them a clean run. If any of them started in the top 2 they'd pull away and I couldn't catch up. The fourth or fifth lineup (Land Rover, S4, Caldina, TT, A3) was a simple win on any track.

Beginner - MR
A little bit of detail for anybody using the MGF - I bought it used, no oil, added brakes and NOS (didn't replace the tires, so I assume they were S2). I had to add 120 ballast to consistently get 200 points, but I couldn't remotely compete with an NSX at New York or Capitan.

I cheated at Fuji so probably shouldn't count that one either - but it would have been doable (I think) with a good lineup, blocking, and the rest of the non-point upgrades. On one run I had the lead after lap 1 without cutting across (much of) the grass, but the NSX spun me out when he hit me on the straight - he was coming up awfully fast and I don't think I got squarely in front of him. Decided I'd cut the corner, take the win, and come back to the series when I got the lotus...

Has anyone tried the Suzuki GSX-R4 in the turning car c/ship ? I started with 224bhp & qualified to start up front & with S2/S3 tyres & 200kg balast was able to get 200 pts per race & only missed out on the Tokyo track, when I went back to try Tokyo again power was down to 210bhp & was able to run R1/R2 tyres & 40kg ballast & run down 2 Ruff's for the full 200pt set. I am going to run power down some more to see if I can fit even better tyres.BTW it also has a wing.

It's been a while, but yes all races done for 200 pts with the GSXR4.
S3, no wing, portpolish, NA2, NOS and all non power mods. Oil change brings back the hp.
Adding a wing will bring your points down.

If you're going for 200 pts in the longer races it pays to use a worn car. =One that doesnt lose power anymore. Check out post #2 in any of the threads listed in this forum.

Happy Aspec hunting :)

Sorry I did not see that list but will check it out from now on. I tried it out in the clubman cup 175bhp &n1/n3 tyres & shows 200pts, the car seems good enough sadly I am not

Professional World Compact
New Scion xB - actually quite a nice ride, just has a terrible stock transmission. Upgraded to full custom, added NOS, and took it out otherwise stock:

vs NTSC lineup 4: Peugeot 106, VW Lupo 1.4, Nissan Micra, Vitz RS 1.5, Opel Corsa 1.4.
Used auto tranny 3 for seattle, tsukuba, hong kong, and motegi, 6 for grand valley - won all races without difficulty. Either qualify, or use NOS, doing both is overkill. The easiest 200 sweep I've done (not that there have been that many) that didn't involve the RAM or GSX.

Hi Guys
I have started the 200pt challenge with the beginners & am stuck in MR with only 191pts in New York & tried both MGF & Lotus 72 & to use the lesser tyres for the 200pts they kick my but. Just need this one to finish Beginners.
Many thanks for hosting this thread & the blank data base tools were much appreciated.

Hi Ozi, good to see you're still interested in pursuing this goal. Fizio & I are happy to see you are using the database(s) to your advantage. 👍 Good record keeping is a bit of a must in this quest. The more you do it now the more benefits you'll reap later on.
You may have noticed that quite a few 'oldtimers' list their Aspec points in the sig area. It's nice to see how one progresses in this game. You might want to consider it too :)

Alternate setup for the GSX for the Professional Tuning Cup (same I used for the hard special conditions road races):

Standard non-point upgrades (haven't changed many settings though), R3 tires, Racing Exhaust, NOS, Tranny Auto 1 Final 5 - clocked in at 182 hp on the tuning screen.

Raced it against the first NTSC lineup - Opera Perf 200, RUF BTR, 3 others I never saw after the starting grid. Fuji and Tokyo I used about half the NOS because of all the time the RUF and 2000 made up on the long straights, but the other races only "required" about 1/4 of it (none of them difficult)... mostly getting off the starting line. The GSX is way too much fun on racing tires. 👍

Professional events, Clubman cup

Just won Apricot hill, SS Route 5 and Forest Hill for 200 points with a '73 BMW 2002 Turbo. I seem to have a knack for old cars, with a suspension upgrade they usually handle very well.

Upgrades: Nitrous, Large race intercooler, Sports suspension (camber front an rear at max, 3 degrees) and soft sports tyres. Also added fully customizable tranny for the last two races. Car is down in power, even with nitrous, but much faster than the competition in corners.

The beemer will be close to 200 points in this setup, I added a bit of weight if it was below.

Usually, I use almost half a bottle of nitrous to catch the slowest 3 or 4 cars in the first lap, than just to improve exit speed. I won these three races easily, but the car seems to be lacking some top speed to attack Montegi and Seoul. Think I'll add some power and compensate with harder tyres.

(22.921 points, and counting :D)

My spec's are very ordinary ,No gold or silver licences ,haven't completed one mission ,game @ 93% & only 29000 pts [10,000 more than I started the challenge] there is nothing to boast about here LOL.

Professional events, Clubman cup

Got Montegi and Seoul as well, using the '73 BMW 2002 Turbo. Added a bigger turbo for some top speed and compensated with tyres and weight. Also tried a couple of times to get a good lineup, I could not beat the Elise in either race.

Professional events, Race of Turbo Sports

While I was at it, I cleaned up this chammpionship with the same BMW as well. Given the tracks and competition, you obviously need some horsepower here, so I added some bits and bobs to get to 310-odd hp. This would get very close to 200 points, depending on the lineup. Rode the car with soft rears and medium front tyres, not bad since the BMW likes to throw its tail around, and added some weight if required.

Tokyo was hilarious. I was unable to catch any car from the start but then managed to outbrake all 5 opponents in the fitst corner . The fastest car (Lotus Esprit Turbo HC) was caught at the back of the pack, so an easy win after that.

The only real struggle was New York. Took me a couple of runs, but not too much of a problem. All other races pretty much cleaned up at the first try.

Professional events, Tuning car championship

I can now confirm that the BMW is fast enough for the Tuning Car championship as well :D Again with about 300 hp and weight to compensate to 200 points and some tries to get a beatable lineup.

Apricot Hill gave me the most troubles. At the final lineup I noticed that the lead RUF crashed in the last corner on the last lap, so I tried again, made sure I made it to second, using the draft of the RUF to make up for the lack of straightline speed. The RUF crashed again, veered back onto the track and I probably missed it by a digital inch. to finish first.

Car Stats : 190 bhp ( settings screen ), No oil change, NOS, N3/N3 tyres, All non power upgrades, Transmission - set Auto to 5, 200 ballast.

@ Seattle Reverse
versus Nissan Skyline Coupe 250GT '03, BMW Z4 '03, Mazda RX-8 '03, Mazda RX-7 Infini, Nissan 350ZX 2by2 '98 ( line up 2 ? )

@ Tsukuba

Chrysler 300C '05, Nissan Skyline GTS - 1 TypeM '91.

The Sprinter seems a good bet for all 200 pointers in this series. Haven't tried the two other tracks but I'm sure you can get 200 there as well.

Yes, add more mods but keep it low enough to stay at 200 points and or add ballast.
Capitalisation and punctuation in your sentences IS appreciated on GTP :)

& Welcome to GTP 👍

AMG.

Meaning by more mods, do you mean just a racing chip?
Anything you can add to boost power, or install better tyres & other non power mods. Seriously, try out these options to see how it goes and please also use your imagination a bit. Do expect to put some effort in to this to succeed, we will help as much as we can but don't expect us to spoonfeed. ;)
