Being rammed

Those damn French!! Seriously though, I;ve been punted by every nationality on the planet. I don't think unethical driving practices are relegated to a single country. ;)

Yep very true, one day I was hit again and again by German drivers, today most Germans I've seen have been very clean and fair. I've likely been punted by someone of every (the ones on the EU servers, at least) nationality by now and had good races against people of that nationality too.

Well I'm not saying I'm an angel on the track, and i can have accidents, even the occasional ROAD RAGE!!! But still, it is ****ed up that they cant make an algoritm tha decides witch way your wheels is turned and/or wether you are trying to avoid the accident or if you just head on in full throttle...

Assuming this is in Sport mode.

Both people in a crash get the penalty. This works well given "crashers" will hit multiple people while you (clean racer) will not,
In theory maybe , but in reality when every race has different opponents it can do mire harm to the clean racer. Between the gr3 race at interlagos and the Nords race yesterday I saw an S rating drop to C. The FIA race bumped me back to B .. Much easier to avoid carnage on dragon trail. But the damage had already been done as I hardly got any point for finishing 2nd in FIA I assume because of my rating. I love the gr3 races , but decided not to continue yesterday for fear my rating would dip again...Now tell me, what's wrong with threat picture?

As far as I can tell, the main driver of FIA points is the collective DR rating of the race. But I agree it's far from perfect.

I just had this. Got torpedoed by some Polish guy, losing me 5 places and gifting me a 10 second penalty to boot.

It was also on the last lap, so he ruined my whole race as I had no time to get rid of the penalty.

Here's the clip.

Two of the worst races I've ever had tonight. I'm getting close to calling it a day. Sport Mode is full of idiots, and I'm S ranked so don't go saying anything about it being better at S. And the FIA races are usually even worse.
It's starting to not be fun anymore. I used to have more clean races than dirty but recently it's been bumper cars.
I don't have the temperament for this stuff, I'm gonna end up throwing my steering wheel out the window. I'm defo taking at least a few days away from it. And I definitely won't be taking part in any more Gr3 races

I had to do that. While it's frustrating I try not to get too worked up and accept the fact the idiots are here to stay.

i agree. online is almost worthless. my game is already for sale. if i wanted a crashfest id stick to GTA. which is back in the machine already. sad. glad i still have a working ps3 for gt6 etc.

because they dive bombed and you rammed them trying to regain the apex. just because someone cheats and takes the apex, doesn't mean you can ram them off of the course
I have very little patience with cheaters. If they get blown off track by someone, I won't hold it against them!

I've been pretty lucky in Sport races. I'm yet to win from pole though, my G29 just doesn't have the braking ability that a skillful pad user can have. My feet certainly don't match the dexterity or speed of my thumbs.
However, I've had an open lobby 10 lap race at Nurb GP where the same french guy smashed me off the track 6 times in two laps, he was clearly using 3rd person view and was trying to take people out as they passed him. Once everyone got past him he quit, the next 8 laps were clean and I managed to finish 4th. It turned out to be one of my favorite races, 99% would have rage quit on the 1st lap.

Just sacrifice DR until you hit SR A and you won’t get any races like that anymore, go in a race and just place last but get a clean race for faster SR rank up

That's what I did, it works for the weekly races... but one foray into the Manufacture series saw my SR tank from A to C

Problem is that these drivers exist in all SR ranks and its because the penalty for doing so low.
If your ahead of someone and they make a move (within a fair space) it's really easy for them to knock you to one side (running off track or cutting the corner somewhat), you to get a time penalty and them to hold the position. They loose some SR points, but assuming that they race mostly cleanly this will be negated by the SR points they've already gained.

I'm actually starting to think that this is an inherent problem with GT as a series, due to its consistently horrible AI acting like little more than a mobile chicane. The easiest way around them to complete the challenges is to lean on them or to nudge them. This spills out into Sport mode and it becomes a constant mess.

The SR system doesn't work
(edit: cleaned up the post so it makes more sense lol)

Clawed my way back to S with DR progress increase in the process. Im wondering if there are folks who only play on the weekend and either a. do no t take the racing seriously , or b. are rather rusty after the week off.

On the weekend at night, I'd imagine that they're drunk like me. But maybe drinking is a poor excuse as I was able to move from sr A to S without touching anybody and while being completely hammered.

im with you ball. i play drunk all the time. a LONG time ago i used to race real cars in real life, so i give respect for other drivers for sure. my friend turned me into a wall at about 180mph and destroyed a car. woke up in the hospital. dunno the actual cost, the car was someone elses and there were sponsors, i know a video game is different. and no ive never raced in real life with alcohol. BUT, there is many hours on the PS with a beer in hand. i just wanted the 15 consecutive race achievement. and it pisses me off to get 7-12 and have somebody crash into you. when im getting lapped i pull off line hit the brakes just to let ppl go by and many times....someone just ramms me anyway, what dicks.

funny you that. There was a guy from France last night, A rated, racer in a red Ferrari that was dive bombing the inside and outing people left and right. I watched him on the replay in awe. I initially though our encounter was one off, but it was chronic.

How is it the report function works again?

The Gr.4 race at Dragon Tail was a nightmare, I'd qualified 4th (so thought I'd managed to avoid the mid-pack assault) but into the first chicane I was dive bombed by a chrome Citroen GT and given 10 secs (he side swiped me just before he ghosted and hit the wall), I tried to keep back from the jostling going on ahead but by the hairpin (before the bus stop) I was boxed in from all sides and bounced around so as well as being pushed over the curbs and given 27 secs. At that point I pulled to the side let everyone past and just cruised round at the back to try and recover my SR.

What was worse was despite going slow I was still catching the idiots at the back (who couldn't handle their cars and kept spinning out) who didn't like being passed and kept attacking me resulting in more orange SR's. I finished the race on a red SR and called it a night.

None of these idiots finished with a penalty and IIRC none of them dropped a rank.

It's a shame as I've had some good Gr.4 races at Dragon Tail and when I saw the 10 lapper come up was looking forward to it.
