Columbia Falls gym, Iron Fitness had their first annual bench press contest this morning. There were four age divisions, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+. A buddy I workout with was invited to the competition by his old, longtime lifting partner who was actually putting on the competition. To show support and help with the meet, three of us went up there this morning with no expectations. At the end of the competition, Craig walked away as division champion in the 40-49 group, B.J. came in second overall for his age group 20-29, and I walked away as division champion in my age group 30-39 as well as best overall weight with a max bench weight of 385lbs. for a single rep. We're totally not into competitions and certainly should not be top in our divisions, but we had a great time and the hosts of the meet did an outstanding job. It was a lot of fun, low pressure and hope to do it again soon. 👍

How many competitors were there?
Three. Pako, B.J. and Craig. :P

That's very cool Pako! Congrats, for sure. I'm thinking this is a bit of motivation to keep the progress going now that you've got best overall under your belt. You have a title to defend. ;)👍

There were probably 25 total. Only 5 guys in my division. Considering I know some guys in my division that can rep my max, I was fortunate none of them showed up. :)

Here's all the prizes. Please note the genuine Italian Marble bass on the trophy.
