I managed to almost double my SOT by underclocking my processor to 1.2 GHz from 1.7 GHz. I still need to do more testing as this wasn't regular usage, but I'm pretty happy with the results so far.
Regular SOT is around 2.5 hours, I got almost 5 hours with underclocking. I'll upload a screenshot later.

How's the battery life on the G5?

It's OK for the battery size. Posted battery stats for light (Had to charge slightly as I didn't take screenshots in time before it turned off) and heavy use (No sim card, just WIFI). Charges quite quick too and doesn't get that hot.

Find DPI of screen ridiculous really, makes it a bit pointless having such a high resolution screen. Might as well just include a 720p screen and benefit from better battery life. They should give an option like iPhones at least, seems crazy that you can see more on screen on the 6S 1334x750 than you can on a bigger 2560x1440 display with factory settings.

Don't like also the home button at the back, feels cheap too. Also they limit the camera app still since G3 so it doesn't have 1080p 60FPS support and manual controls. They're taking the piss really, when G2 could record at that setting and successors need another app to do it, maybe a way so LG can find a way to promote the V series.

I might wait a bit and see how long phone in middle in picture below might take to launch before deciding whether to switch to it or not. Knowing BlackBerry, it will be a budget chip from this year at time when phones with 830 chips launching.

@NP It's decent enough given how quickly it charges and option of replacing it quickly too.

I read about that before but rather not have broken stock apps. Also noticed screen has a lot of screen backlight bleeding, quite disappointing really.

I think it's much better built than the PRIV I had though. It's quite impressive in a way as it has removable battery and easy to take apart unlike most smartphones nowadays. Not a fan of the Samsung flagships as front and back are made from glass which makes them fragile and also a fingerprint magnet.

Anyway, I thought I'd compare lock screens, between some Android devices, from left to right (PRIV (2560x1440) (5.4").png, G5 (2560x1440) (5.3").png, iWork8 (1280x800) (8").png)



G5 has far the biggest icons. Shows though, low resolution screens should be more than adequate for most phones, I think that's why iPhone Retina screens have stuck to lower resolutions compared to Android phones, should help costs, performance and battery life too. Higher resolution I can understand for VR but seems for most users rather pointless given the DPI they set them at on factory settings.

I'm in love with it @NP, it's brilliant. My only complaint about it is how slippery it is due to the Aluminium body, I wish that they stuck with the grippy sandstone finish from the previous models. The old sandstone back made OnePlus phones look and feel unique, too.
Everything else about the OP3 is brilliant, particularly the performance. I'm happy that I can keep multiple apps in the background without them being killed off, that was the biggest problem that I had with my old phone.

Looking forward to getting following phone when out, hopefully they sneak in a 835 chip (Currently seems to be a 625). Either way, future looking bright for physical keyboard smartphones with TCL & BlackBerry combination. Hopefully Nokia bring back keyboard phones, would like a Communicator with Windows 10.

I'm currently using a HTC Desire 626 as my main phone due to only spare non iOS phone I currently have that has nano sim slot, LG G4 as secondary (Same SoC as yours). Hopefully the new PKB BlackBerry is out by March, don't like using on-screen keyboard.

Getting used to using Android again as primary phone, I remember again why I switched to BB10. Android is still 🤬 in my opinion, I do hope Google one day replaces it with something as least as quick as likes of iOS and QNX. Fuchsia sounds promising.

Tried running Geekbench 4 on G4 but doesn't work, comes up with error saying I need an active connection for it to work. HTC 626 I managed to get a score for, also ran the compute test. Didn't know scores for Geekbench 3 was normalised around the i5-2520M, I used to use a laptop with that CPU for a few years.
