Hey people, just wondering about which car did you mostly used to start drifting on and your opinion on the best car to start drifting with.

Car Started Drifting With: Bmw Tii Concept 07'

Best Car To Start Drifting With: Mazda Rx8

My Opinion: I think that the Rx8 is the perfect car to start with, doesn't need much tuning to get started and has pretty much the perfect horsepower to get ya goin' sideways.

Everybodys opinion is different, and everyone has different styles, so share yours!

I started out drifting the 350z its a very nimble car and simple to drift. Then moved up to the srt10 viper, and have been there for a while. I drift all the cars now besides the batmobile ( citroen ) and the f1.

best car to start drifting in, well thats all depends on your skill and style. I would say the tuned cap for beginers or the 350z

i aint been here that long and while using the g25 i find the cappacino tuned the best car for me right now. (cant seem to drift any other at the moment)

As a seasoned GT4 drifter, i jumped in at the deep end drifting the Blitz ER34 on my first time out, this was after lots of general race experience though, so I already knew when the car would let go generally, and could control a slide thanks to plenty of over eager right foot moments during races.

Wouldn't recommend it though, alot of people seem to like the tuned Cappu for a first drifter, I think the M3 isn't a bad place to start either.

I am no drifter really, but when I do ocassionally go for a quick drift session on eiger I have found the Rx-7 will step out easily but whilst being very managable whilst sideways.

Heavy cars are a bit difficult to use to start off, thus starting light and easy :)

RX8 on N3's seem to have no power in 1st and 2nd gear.
Z4 I think is the same.

Try using N3's or S1's to drift as online drifters tend to use thoe tires.

If you going for rankings besure for the N's (mainly N1)

I started with the F40 for my first gt5 prologue drifting, its absolutely amazing, really hard to control, but very rewarding if you do manage do control it

I'm new to the drifting, so really enjoying this thread. I tried starting out with the big HP machines, but lost control going into just about every corner. I did quite well with the Mitsubishi Lancer IX, but didn't realize it was AWD. Now I'm finding it even harder to control the RWD cars, lol.
Using a G25, pro settings, all aids off.
Seems like I need to give the tuned Cappu a go

Well i'm new to drifting and tried out a couple of cars before but i got a recommendation from this section of the forum pointing me in the way of the tuned 350Z, awsome car really easy to balance

The problem with the Tuned Z (Amuse/Opera) is that it's powerband is pretty terrible, which is fine on Ns but awful on anything else without proper gearing.

I started in the non tuned cappucino (just to get used to the G25) and moved to the tuned one, now M3 and then maybe the blitz.... this is the part of the game when I miss being able to buy performance mods for cars... Id rather be starting in a stock silvia and building it up....

oh well, GT5 will be here one day :D

Same, I tried to drift on some S tyres for fun, but turned out terrible.
