I've searched and didn't find any threads similar to the keywords best intros.

Whats your favorite. Mine:

Tool - Eulogy

I'm also tap tapping that intro. :D:tup:

Hmm...what else. "Mein Herz Brennt" by Rammstein is pretty good and "Jacqueline" by Franz Ferdinand.

AC/DC - Thunderstruck
Metallica - Battery
Pantera - Cemetary Gates
Rammstein - Links 2-3-4

This is pretty much another one like the Best Riff EVUH!!! thread. It's impossible to work this out. Most Pantera, Rammstein and Metallica intros are great, along with so many Rock and Metal bands that I listen to. Those are four that popped straight into my head.

Amon Amarth - Death In Fire (best drums ever!)
Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle (can't beat this one ;) )
In Flames - The Quiet Place

Benny Ben Benjamin Benson
Amon Amarth - Death In Fire (best drums ever!)
In Flames - The Quiet Place
Any Amon Amarth song, really. And any In Flames song from Whoracle and The Jester Race. :D

Jim Jimmy Jimi Jimmo
Any Amon Amarth song, really. :D

You gotta love the intensity of their music. It impresses me every time I hear it 👍.

Edit: Just found another- Jethro Tull - Inside
Flute at its best :sly:👍

Killswitch Engage - Rise Inside (Easily the best check out how the tempo get's faster and faster and faster it's awesome)

Jimmy Enslashay

Uh not exactly. Some riffs are at the introduction and some in the middle of it and some near the end. So not really.

Riffs are everywhere in a song. Otherwise songs would just be big groups of solos and interludes. Most intros are just riffs anyway.

Yeah so riff is very vague since it's everywhere. This thread is specifically for intros in songs, riffs or not. I don't know much about guitars. I'm a drummer myself.

Obviously you didn't read what I wrote properly. I didn't say an Intro is the same as a Riff. I said this thread is similar to the Riff thread in the way that it is impossible to create a list of the best Riff/Intro ever. Understand?

Metallica - Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
The Offspring - Dirty Magic
The Offspring - Crossroads
In Flames - Dead Eternity
In Flames - December Flower

There are a lot of great intros on The Jester Race.

Shallow Be Thy Game - RHCP

It's only lasts 4 seconds, but the suspense of the intro to Subterranean Homesick Blues by RHCP always gets me.

Higher Ground - Stevie Wonder

There's a wicked intro + drop in Cantaloop - US3

Banquet by Bloc Party builds nicely in a club

Let There Be Love - Nat King Cole. One of the nicest intros to a song ev4r.

Ocean Colour Scene's 100 Mile High City

Blow Your Mind, Virtual Insanity, Cosmic Girl, - Jamiroquai

The Chicken - Jaco Pastorious

The Next Episode - Dr. Dre.

Rip It Up - Razorlight

Argh, sorry i'm losing the plot, i'll leave it there.

Rip It Up is a great intro. i really like the intro to Fight Fire With Fire. if you dont know the band name then you need a kicking :P

The Police - Spirits In The Material World

Michael Nyman - Stroking/Synchronising

Yes - Close To The Edge
