Best Lancer Evolution After Mods in GT4?

I have a few questions which I would like some help with please.

1. I would like to know, after heavy modifications which of the Lancer Evolution Models (in GT4), which has the best Power\Weight Ratio? (Including Mine's version)

2. I would also like to know which has the most Torque, regardless of RPM level? (Including Mine's version)

3. I would like to know where to acquire such a car?

4 How much HP and Torque does the Mine’s Lancer Evolution VI GSR ('00) actually have Stock, and after Mods if possible?

I have tried to find this answer myself, but I would have to acquire all of these cars, and modify them, which can be time consuming for me. If someone else already knows the answers it would save me much time if you would kindly share your results. Thanks in advance.

Start with RS version when possible as they are of lighter weights.

Earlier versions (up until Evolution III) are notably lighter, and as old cars have power loss, I guess one of the best would be to choose a Evolution III if you are looking for a lighter weight ones.

For power, Evolution IV is the first model that comes with 280ps. But for torque, these earlier versions aren't the best. Evolution VIII MR would certainly give the best torque, and remember RS would be the lighter.

These are the basics of Evolutions.

400bhp. (I think it has ~350lb ft of torque)

After mods, should be somewhere in the region of 550-600bhp. (haven't modded mine, so I can't provide a definitive figure)

Makes a great drift car at Tsukuba Wet on stock tyres (S3s), as you can see from my avatar ;)

TuneRVisioN: The GT-A has an automatic 'box standard, hence the lightning shifts. Slap a FC tranny under it, it turns into a normal manual gearbox.

Cool, thanks for the help, So far seems like the Mine's Edition wins out.... I wonder if it costs $150,000 IRL too, or exists for that matter.

I would go with a RS but it doesn't have the Active Yaw Controller, which I have found to be Awesome for keeping this thing on the road.

I actually love the GTA-, but with all my weight Reduction it downs to 1258kg, which is only 2kg lighter than most other Evo' come stock with.

So I guess im starting off with the Mines edition as soon as I muster up to cash. Thanks for the help.

Well, it is your choice of which you like best and which one you'd really like to have fully modified. The only I can say is that out of all the Lancer's I've got, I like the TME version the most 👍

I'd definately go with the VIII MR.
Once you do weight reductions it will drop down to about 1170kg. With power mods it will easily run up to over 500hp.
Combine that with the AYC and you've got yourself one heck of an evo. 👍

If you were buying the car and just moving on, I'd say buy the Mine's but if you plan to modify the car after buying it then buy a normal evo 8 MR.👍

The problem I have with the VIII versions is that it does not gets its back out. All version seem to get in a drift so easily but the VIII keeps rejecting on me 👎

So the Evo 8 Modded is better than the Mines Edition Modded Power\weight wise? Interesting... Once again thanks, something more for me to look into.
I also don't really worry about drifting too much with the Evo, I just want to build a Handling machine and make it work for majority of the races In game. I would do it with the Elise, but it just wont put out the power\top speed I need.

I think what im looking at right now, ill probably finish Modding my GTA, then move onto the MR, then the Mines, and just test them out to see which works best for me. If anyone else has more ideas, please feel free to help, and thanks to all those who have helped thus far.

I prefer the Evo III as a good tradeoff between low weight (I think around 1050kg fully lightened) and power. There are Evo's with more power, but they come with more weight 90% of the time. There is also the V, which is slightly heavier but with more power.
The Evo VII GT-A is also a good choice, because the weight and horsepower deficits are balanced out by the tranny.

I wasn't sure about the PWR and total power of each model so I did a little research.

Mine's Evo 6 with oil change, stage 4 turbo, and stage 3 weight reduction:
600hp / 1173kg / 1.954 pwr

Mitsubishi Evo VIII MR with oil change, stage 4 turbo, and stage 3 weight reduction:
578hp / 1190kg / 2.058 pwr

Very similar with just two major differences...
With the Mine's Evo you get one color and no gt wing (so no downforce).
With the Mitsu 8 MR you get several colors and a GT wing (which will add enough downforce to make a world of difference).

Just for the GT wing alone I would buy the 8 MR.
The colors are an added bonus. :sly:

What an estimate on my part! :sly:

The Evo III is pretty damn quick. With "only" 450hp (not sure if I used nitrous), I ran a 9 sec quarter, and I think I might've been on sport tyres!

in the eralier evos there is one thing that bothers me, and it's their obvious fwd-biased system. in the later evos that problem has been fixed, but still, adding YAW controller makes the cars turning feel edgy and unnatural. it's more coputers car than drivers car, which is why I prefer Imprezas.

In my opinion, after trying out the later models, I found the Evo VIII RS to be the quickest due to its light weight.

In both A and B Spec, the Evo VIII RS clocks the quickest time. The RS may lose out to the MR in power, but has a higher peak torque, and better power to weight ratio.

The stock suspension settings for the Evos are geared toward rallies, so find a setting that works for the track you like. I got one for the Evo VIII RS after some testing on Tsukuba.

Spring Rates: 10.0/10.0
Ride Height: 100/100
Shock Absorbers: 7/7
Camber: 1.0/0.5
Toe: 0/0
Stabilizers: 1/1

The other settings can be determined by your good self, like transmission, etc. =)

I'd definately go with the VIII MR.

I am gonna say I am with Kent on this one. I did a lot of Evo testing a while back and found that out of all the factory Evos the fastest ones are the 8s. Either the RS or the regular MR models. They are very similar in lap times on any track. I found it to be a matter of opinion on the driver's part in the end. I like oversteer so I like the AYC and the non-RS model. In case anyone cares I found the Evo 6 TMEs to be a very close second, both RS and GSRs. 👍

So you prefer the way of frustrating understeer!

(just kidding, I love Imprezas and Evos alike! :) )

well, last night, after hours long fiddling with LSD, I found a wonderful setup for Evo VII TME. I'll post it to Tuner Garages soon.
