Best MR car (Beginner challenge)

Hey guys, I am new to this forum, quite happy that I found a GT4 forum.

I am working through the start of a career, what do you recommend as the best cost effective MR type car to challenge in the MR type races in the beginners hall?

Funds available = 23,777 :nervous:

I hope to be posting a lot throughout the next while.

ps - I know most members will be rather advanced at this game and some wont care to look back at the beginners hall, I plead for assistance :indiff:

Your help would be appreciated 👍 👍

Easy Choice: Take the '86 MR2 G-Limited SC. Using that car with a stage one NA tuning, a Nitrous tank, and a little drivetrain tuning, I won the whole cup. Using the money you win, if you didn't get it before entering, a sports exhaust system, and Stage 1 weight reduction help a lot. This is a great car for it's unexpectedly high power (I can get mine to accelerate to 320 KM/H pretty smoothly without the aid of nitrous), but low PWR (In other words, you'll get great A-Spec points using it).

Excellent, I did notice that car but the only doubt I had was the cars we were up against in the MR races and what spec they had. I've just bought it there and sticking on the stage 1 NA tuning and the Nitrous.

You have said there that with the money I earn from these races stick on a stage 1 reduction kit and a sports exhaust system. Why do I need to upgrade the car after I have won the MR races though?

Thanks for your help 👍 👍

win other races

Which races are you meaning? I've won everything else on the beginners hall.

Just out of curiousity how much credit did you have after competing in the beginners hall? Maybe everyone else who reads this can contribute as well 💡 👍

To get some more cash with your funds :

Go to the early 90's second hand car market and buy an old subaru imprezza. You can pick one up for just under 10 000 credits.

Just do an oil change on it and take the car to the Special Conditions Hall and race the Costa di Amalfi (= easy). You should be able to win this quite easily (just practice the track and perhaps buy a few upgrades for the imprezza with your left over money). After winning the 2 races you just have to sell the Toyota RSC Rally Raid car, should net you around 265 000.

With that money you can buy a mercedes, win the mercedes CLK touring car in the silver arrow race and use that to B-spec the DTM championship. Et voila!

hey there apclps,

thanks for the reply.

Ok at the moment i've done all the beginner hall races with the exception of the MR which I am doing at the moment, I bought the MR2 86' G Limited, stuck on some Nitrous. racing chip and a Stage 1 NA tuning and we are left with approx 16,000 after winning a few of the races in MR.

The fact you have mentioned you get 265,000 in prize money after racing Costa di Amalfi with the Subaru and selling a car which you named as Toyota RSC Rally Raid car which I dont have.

Sorry if you think I am being stupid and simple but I just didnt understand :indiff:

(ps - i took my chevi that i wont after winning the pick up truck races out on Costa di Amalfi and won it with great ease  )

Prize car list

Well in all fairness Daan the reason I created the thread was to get advice on which MR car to buy and I got that answered. Yes I know about the prize car list.

But I did search for a topic on my question before I posted though.

Sorry for any confusion and thanks for all your help 👍

Well, you asked which races you win the Impreza in which indicated you didn't know about the prize car list which is why I told you about it. I'm pleased that you did know about it. 👍

And as your question has been answered, I'll just lock this.

Enjoy your stay at the Planet.
