Ferrari Enzo makes a glorious roar, so does the jaguar xj13 with it's visible V12. Almost all the historic racing cars sound amazing but the best in my opinion is the Chapparal 2D. That rolling thunder noise under acceleration is mindblowing. Another engine sound that i'm drawn to is the FALKEN GTR race car '04. The sound of it's RB26DETT bouncing off the rev limiter on downshifts is very nice. Highly unusual for a turbo car to sound good!

My drag tuned Enzo screams @ 9,000 rpm

S13 or s15 silvias with semi exhaust at high rpms is my favorite.

Second is the ferrari f40 in cockpit view sounds beautiful.

Once upon a time long ago there was a Lexus IS RC and then there was an update that ruined it!!!! :-(

Oh, have you actually heard the LFA in real life? I havent, but the GT5 LFA sounds good to me. Thats opinion. Not fact. It may not be accurate, but I like it. All that you said is also opinion. Others may think different to what you say, doesnt make them wrong, just that their opinion is different. Doesnt make you right either.
#4 is actually a lot more factual than anything. The bias has to be pretty strong to not believe smaller titles such as PGR nailed the sounds closer than GT5 ever has. Forza has undoubtedly always been ahead in this department as well, even NFS despite the volume cranked to 11.

So you're saying that PD only recorded up to that point and then weren't allowed to rev further? That theory really doesn't make sense. Why on earth would they only record up to a certain point, not go the full way and then just guess the rest of the rev range?
Whether or not PD were allowed to record up to redline is uncertain. What is for sure is that some cars had only part of the rev range recorded, and suffer from the top end.

Here's a car with this noticeable trait:

Ferrari Enzo makes a glorious roar,
Ferrari Enzo makes the sound of a bad attempt at a 458:

so does the jaguar xj13 with it's visible V12.
:odd:

Here we go:

You mean that generic V8 sound that is also found in most American V8's with racing exhausts? Yeah, no.

Highly unusual for a turbo car to sound good!
Oh really?

It has the same noise as the Zonda R in the game. I've heard the Enzo plenty of times thanks to quite a few attempts to get a gold in " la festa cavallino" in B-spec. When I won the Zonda R, I knew I'd heard the same noise before.

Yes, but who can argue with that?

I really enjoyed putting a stock Triumph Spitfire through it's paces last night - has great exhaust note - definitely a British small sports car sound.👍

The 787B for sure, it sounds so good at idle that sometimes if I wipe out I just sit there for a few seconds to listen to it.

My fully tuned ACR Viper sounds just like an idling Mercedes-Benz W125 from 2000-3000 rpm. I should know, I saw the w125 at Goodwood FoS last year.
